Was fitted by my club pro at Kinross GC for the Dynapower Forged.,,,, (My old irons were Cobra Aerojet) Was out this morning 7am for the first time with the new irons. The feel is soft, compared to my old irons, higher ball flight thou STOPS fast on the greens. Now have confidence of firing into the green and know its going to stop, with the 8. to GW.. Have now taken the SM9 49 wedge out of the bag,,, Took a bit of getting used to a thicker top line,, smile on your coupon with the soft feel you get, deffo worth the money,,, and and club pro was £100 cheaper than American Golf,, always good to support your club pro
After 20 years of not playing I returned to golf 18 months ago with a new set of Wilson Dynapowers. Have dropped my handicap from 32 to 17. Am thinking of moving to the Dynapower Forged soon. Great clubs.
I love Wilson Staffs. I'm playing the Wilson Staff Tour Blades from 1977/78 and are my favorite of the several sets of irons I have. I have to say these new irons look amazing!
Alright I'm commenting a second time but this is for the gentleman in the video. Absolutely love the time bar at the bottom. I love that addition. Also incredibly detailed review. Love the info Only issue I've had with testing on UA-cam. We gotta see the "tweener" shots. Cut the top off and 8i or controlling the the trajectory in the short iron. Can these help an aspiring player help with distance control and shaping. Not a critique for just a W/S video. It would help with every club test, even driver
I bought a set of the Dynapower forged irons a few weeks ago (single digit handicap player, I played a few rounds with them so far), and I like them quite a bit better than my Srixon ZX5's. The impact / strike feel is superior to my Srixons and the sound of a solid strike with the Wilson's is more of a powerful, yet muted "thwack" sound and isn't such a high pitched clicky sound like a compressed strike from my ZX5's. And regarding distance, they're the same or better as my Srixons, especially on mis-hits. So far these dynapower forged irons are the best irons I've played. Only thing I don't like is the set doesn't come with a 4 iron and you have to special order it (and they're currently out of stock of right-handed Dynapower forged 4-irons on the Wilson website, which is mildly annoying), so I just put my ZX5 4-iron in the bag for now.
Wilson as a club maker are definitely coming back. They do look a nice club, and I'd like to see you do a course vlog with the bladed version. I don't think that I've seen a bad review of these clubs.
Welcome to the world of Wilson. I've been playing the D9 forged for the last year and love them. Even better, they cost me 1/2 of what a set from a big manufacturer would be. You didn't mention thr CB which is for the better golfer like you. A combo set of CB and blade might be your best option. Something like 4-6 in the CB an 7-W in the balde
Great review Andy very well presented and explained. I’m currently playing stealth 2 irons very nice but the 5 and 6 iron at 20 and 23 degrees are a bit strong so have two hybrids on my bad days. I’m a senior handicap varies between 15-18 as I put cards in every round, swing speed with a 7 iron 70-74 mph, average launch angle 20-23 degrees. I’ve been lucky to test many irons this year T350, I530, G430, Smoke, Darkspeed and SrixonnZX4. Best performing so far T350 and ZX4. However love Wilson so want to try the Dynapwr forged if forgiving enough. I’m a decent consistent ball striker but at all my fittings always recommended game improvement irons but not super because I launch high. The i530 I found as easy as T350 but was hoping to try the Wilson as they look great and forgiving, thenforged face and sensible lofts on the long irons appeal and the price, graphit at £138 where as the others I’m looking at are around £190 a club! Once thanks for a great review on the most underrated brand in golf.
Wilson makes great equipment. I game their Wedges, 50°, 54°, and 58° Staff Model. I love ‘em. I’m glad you’re getting the spin you’re looking for. It’s important. I am going for a Trackman Session hopefully this weekend. So you know what that means… I’ve found my swing. It’s repeatable, more compact, great compression, and accurate. Now I have to record my new yardages. Thank you. It’s mostly your instructions, along with Mr Cowen and Danny Maude. I just need a minor tweak on the release. I’ve been really hitting irons with bowed wrists. They are sore as crap now along with my elbows, so maybe a little less bow at impact is in order. Could be arthritis from my treatments, hoping it’s just soreness. Either way, I am officially dangerous now. Thanks again. 🥂
I’ve had opportunities to sample these clubs at a local range and was very impressed! They felt great (Mizuno-esque), performed well, and look sharp! They’d definitely be on my list for consideration were I in the market for new irons!
I’m playing the C300 Forged still, released in 2018. As a reasonably fast swing speed (111-112 mph driver) I prefer the more traditional loft off 33deg for 7 iron, vs the 30.5. But similar sort of tech with the forged head and power holes. I absolutely love them to bits and it’s great to see Wilson getting the kudos they deserve. They do make fantastic irons, and the forged wedges are also pretty good
@@michaellazzaro1724 wasn’t aware of this. If you bend them 2 degrees it affects bounce, but if you order them 2 degrees weak, do they come with standard bounce? Or do they just bend them before they send them, so bounce is also changed?
Great vid Andy. I got fitted last year for D9 forged and love them. Was playing titleist ap1 718s previously. Now just been fitted for the dynapower driver and 3 wood. Definitely a club maker to consider when buying new clubs and with a bargain price me thinks.
Like the chapter countdown Andy. At some point Wilson needs to splash out and make signings and arrange big demo events to back up the quality of the clubs. Last time I saw a Wilson rep on a demo day I tried the `latest' version of the Fatshaft!
I have in the bag Wilson V6 Forged tours and they are like butter...they have traditional lofts so you dont get the distance but you can stop these dead on the greens....👍
Have played 4 rounds with these clubs and absolutely love them. 3 of the 4 rounds were in sunny conditions and have not noticed any reflection off the chrome like some have said could be possible. Now, as for Wilson...... their customer service is no where near what it should be. Almost went with a Srixon ZX7/5 combo set because Wilsons customer service was so bad when I was trying to order the set. BUT, the Wilson DP Forged were better.... so I put up with it. Glad I did. Also tried MIzuno 243 and 245, Cobra Forged Tec, TM P790 and Titleist T100/150/200. Wilsons outplayed them all.
Hey Andy, great Vid. Im a 8 hcp here in Australia and currently play Titleist T100S. Looking at these to get some more forgiveness and power. How do you think they compare to a P790 or T200?
Excellent review and these Wilson irons do look really good, I am surprised that with your speed that you weren't hitting the 5 and 7 irons especially much longer than your own irons as the lofts are much stronger so I can only guess that the lighter and softer KBS Tour Lite shaft was producing excessive launch and spin thus causing you to lose carry distance, I reckon that you would have hit these irons much longer with your KBS C-Taper 130 shafts.
You don’t see it address. In fact I don’t even notice them on mine at all now. And they’ve had them in for 4 generations, maybe even 5…. So they must help on low strikes
The shiny aspect kills me man. I hate it when it's sunny above you and you're getting blinded by your club at address. Lol kills me. Makes you want to call the president and say, launch the missile at the sun now! Lol but then you'd need lights for night golf I guess. Lol dang it sun!
I switched from Srixon ZX5's to these dynapower forged irons and find the Wilson's a lot better. Also, the T200's are in a completely different price bracket than the Wilson's, so you have to be prepared to shell out a sizable chunk of extra change if you want to play the Titleist's (enough money that can pay for several golf lessons with a reputable instructor).
I only get new irons once every 4 to 5 years. I try to stay as agnostic as possible and pick what fits me best. I also buy the previous years model to enjoy the discount. Thanks though the Wilson’s for sure are on the list.
Wilson have made fantastic clubs for decades but when they went into "box sets" the image of the company went way down. The irons they make today are as good as any other and better than a lot of "Big" names. The problem in the U.K is stockists especially at golf club level.
I feel like people expect too much from a club . This is golf , its a very hard game and no amount of club tech should fix a bad shot . Some help is of course great , but i personally want to know when I've struck the ball poorly. This way we learn to play the game, these clubs look great and assuming every review on UA-cam isn't a paid advert I'd say they are well worth the money for a player who wants all the quality without the insane price tag .
Golf is tough thats why good tech is a great help for off-centre hits. You still feel that you havent flushed it. No club can disguise that. But the club helps minimise the bad shot
As a US based player, if a store or shop isn't offering Wilson Staff as a fitting option, I don't go there. You cannot be taken seriously as a fitter and not have Wilson Staff irons. The entire line. The driver is good and a big leap but the irons should be as common as Taylormade or Mizuno.

Yes love that. Always support the pro. Even if they were more expensive the service is usually better
Looks like Wilson are stepping up their game 👍.
Big time yes

I’ve been playing the Wilson D7 forged and will be switching to these DynaForged irons in the fall.
I've gamed these for like 10 rounds now; They are the best irons I've ever played with
I'm a 12 handicap btw

Ive not seen Wilson clubs in years but have heard good things about them.
Loved how you were smashing the wedge shots out of sight!
Cheers

Ordered my set at start of season, great clubs and really surprised me after playing mizuno’s for 7 year. HDC Index down 5 shots
Got mine fitted with the graphite shafts, love the forgiveness and extra distance compared to my old Taylor made rocket blades
Hi Andy are these any more forgiving than my ping blueprint s irons. Good review thank you 😊

I'm looking to change from my much liked but now tatty Ping i15's. These Wilsons are now on the list of possibles.👍
Definitely give them a look
You know you've had less than ideal weather when you're wearing a puffer vest on the golf course in July 😂😂
tour lite stiffs are 100g. I wonder how heavy the heads are? they list swing weight at D2
I got last years honma tw757p irons shipped from Japan for 450 dollars. They are amazing

Yes the shafts will have made all the difference for sure
If you do put them in your bag would you reshaft them. Also curious what's the gapping like between the 8&7 irons
Did you play these with the stock KBS shafts?
Ok, got my answer halfway through the video, nothing to see here…lol.
Great irons I just need lighter shafts than they provide. Stop press just found what I needed secondhand.
Tour Edge for me.
The off-putting usual is the power slots - other than that they look amazing

I have the tour only bead blasted satin heads in the Dynapwr Forged. Stunning.
@joeweiner7570 that helps with the sun I'm guessing. I've never had thay personally done.
@@BrD4GOD a number of their pros want this done so they do it for a limited number of sets. Same with the staff wedges. For the pros they are all raw.
Hahaha brilliant!!
Great clubs, forged spin way too low for me. The blades and the cbs are absolutely phenomenal though.
👍👍
