Apparently, Tim Burton (director of Batman and Edward Scissorhands) was going to make a movie out of this, but then Jurassic Park happened so he made Mars Attacks.
Pennywise the Dancing Clown I know the dinosaurs in the cards are not what the dinosaurs actually are but they look awesome and you're right they should have done a movie
My mom absolutely hated these cards! Every time she found my hidden stash she would throw them away. Needless to say, I loved them and was undeterred in my quest to complete my collection.
The story in these cards is a million times more creative than any of the Jurassic World movies. Kids today wouldn't believe the stuff that was marketed to kids back then. There were also Garbage Pail Kids, and in the same store were little candy dispenser things shaped like Freddy Krueger.
Is it me, or do I want to see Dinosaurs Attack being turned in a video game (basically as a spiritual successor to Rampage)? In this hypothetical game, you play as a dinosaur or prehistoric animal going around the city wreaking havoc, smashing buildings, and eating people. The hardest character to unlock will be the Supreme Monstrosity, a.k.a. Satansaurus Rex (you need to enter a time portal created from the TimeScan disaster to defeat him if you want to unlock him). Every time you destroy structures or eat humans, you create combo points as well as funny comments (similar to the Hungry Shark games) shown on the screen referencing the cards (e.g. "Nuptial Nightmare!", "Homeroom Horror!", "Comics in Catastrophe!", "Lunch Break!", etc.)
this would be good but that gives me another idea that to unlock different dinosaurs you have to recreate the card (somewhat) and then you would get that achievement and the dinosaur or just a skin
I discovered these in high school and was traumatized for about a week. Then I was inspired and started drawing a -sucky- series of "cards" with the same basic premise, only it's cryptids attacking instead of dinosaurs (well okay, some of them are also dinosaurs but whatevs). Some of those, btw, were bloody enough that I managed to scare myself with how extreme I was getting; one of them was of a werewolf tearing a woman's face off. And hey, at least Edmontosaurus/"Trachodon" was still a peaceful leaf-eater!
@@bloodysimpsonchibi954 Noooooooo. They are VERY old, VERY embarrassing and some of them are blatant rip offs of the original Dinosaurs Attack. Sorry about that ^_^;

@@nicholaslienandjaja1815 not really, It was more an Inspiration to the design, not the whole character. Godzilla is based off actual events like the second world war and the hiroshima and nagasaki bombings. So yeah, there you go.
Loved the Mars Attack one and don't think I even knew these dionsaur ones were a series or that they told a sequential story. And now that I think about it, I probably never knew that the Mars ones did either (assuming that they did). IDW (Image? or whatever comic ompany used them) did great with that property and with crossovers. My favorite part is how these and Mars Attacks look like they were painted, not just drawn. Gold Key comics had some wild painted ones as a kid.
This series was actually a spiritual successor to Mars Attack, and they had a crossover with each other and many other franchises, including Transformers Plus the comics, least the ones made by IDW had the same writers as the cards
As a kid in the 80's, I loved Dinosaurs. I miss all those PBS specials and shows. I Miss Herb and Rex. And, of course, the plushies, books and figures...probably partly why I love the big G.

I used to have a full on box like he does in mint condition!!! It was still all packed in the box not even opened!!! And you know what I did! I ranked the value on that baby and opened every pack! And then my mom threw them away not knowing they where collectors items
When I was around 10 in the early 90's I took a trip to my grandparents house who lived in another state, and got to stay in my uncles childhood room. He was a big sci-fi geek (like myself) who left a bunch of stuff he bought in college in his closet. Digging around being nosy I found the entire set of _Dinosaurs Attacks_ ...I was both mortified, and fascinated by the badass tongue in cheek, over the top violence accompanied by the ridiculous pulp sci-fi story told on the back of the cards. I still talk about and look at them to this day, and I'm glad others remember and enjoy them too! Great video!
Im pretty sure these dinosaurs here 5:08 are supposed to be the rhedosaurus from beast from 20,000 fathoms and the monster from the giant behemoth, but thats just a guess
14 bucks? I got the whole series for 9 bucks if you include shipping. Also thanks for recommending this series. I really like everything about it and I hope one day they'll be a collectors item.
I think it’s funny that you were so shocked they killed a dog in this card series when on the parasaurolophus sticker, the damn thing is eating a baby out of the stroller! And you can even see it’s limbs and pacifier coming out of the mouth! It’s true what you said, this card series didn’t give a damn.
My favorite cards from this series are "Trapped in the basement", "The perfect wave", "Coasting to Calamity", "Monster in the museum", "Animal Wars", "Wrestling riot", "Entombed!", "Ripped Out of time!", and "Time twister". I have never owned any of these cards, mainly because my mom really doesn't like how gruesome the series is. My favorite card being "Entombed!", because it's both scary and freaky at the same time. If I had to take a guess how the scenario happened without reading the comics, I would guess that the people had dug up a dinosaur skeleton and they were messing around with it and one of the people were inside the skeleton exactly when the dinosaurs were coming back to life and when the dinosaur materialized, and that's how I would guess that scenario happened.
The Villains Wiki entry for the Supreme Monstrosity is hilarious. "Hobby: Directing his dinosaurs to kill all humans." And now his face is used as a meme.
