The Hacks : 1. Have an elevated bed to store things under it 2. Use your vertical space : decor, shelves, organization 3. Use light furnitures rather than dark ones 4. Put mirrors to reflect light and add « space » 5. Have plants, add life in your space 6. DECLUTTER your space, put things in baskets 7. Separate your space to define areas : rug, wallpaper.. 8. Layer your pieces (for exemple cushions under the coffee table, baskets, storage...) 9. Use organizational means in other designated way : bathroom organization for your kitchen etc... 10. Add texture : pillows, furnitures, carpets, blankets... You’re welcome ;)

Hi Drew, I have seen a lot of interior design videos, including yourself. However, I have never seen 1 video that shows what to do with all the diplomas, awards, and throphies one might have. I'd like to display them at my home office since I worked so hard to get them, but I don't know how, so it doesn't look tacky. Can you advise what to do, or please do a video to show some ideas. I hope you can read this. Thanks 😊
If they are framed nicely you can do a collage wall or just near the desk area. I wouldn’t try to force them in maybe pick one award that stands out the most and frame that vs all of them if not enough space… just an idea
Felicia Tang it doesn’t necessarily need legs as they can make a piece look cheap, it just needs to look thinner, thinner arms, maybe it’s taller, thinner back, you can bulk it up and add the cozying that is taken away with chunky throws and pillows 😇👌
You are couch an inspiration ❤ It’s just unbelievable how you went from “I don’t have a storage room” to “I’m remaking my Spanish dupex, should I do the lobby or the movie room?” I can’t imagine how proud you must be ❤❤❤
I absolutely adore you! You not only created a “to the point” video, but you added plenty of detail and explanation behind each point. And your voice is so inviting! ❤ keep up the amazing work.
Thank you for being so succinct and thorough with really helpful tips. My wife and I live in a tiny apartment in an affordable housing complex, so tips like these make me feel like we can make things less dreary here. Thanks again :)
So exited!! I’m 17 getting an apartment soon and I’m so ready for it!! I’m a really independent person and always have been and I am so excited to finally have a place to myself 🥹💕
You, and your channel have inspired me to take control of my surroundings. I almost didn't think it was possible to live a life without clutter. Thank you so much, and keep up the great work! 😀
You know how sad it is when you have had that thought for so many times and then you actually move and have to fill a whole new room and are completely overwhelmed
A tip I found for lightening up your furniture: covers. Couch covers for brightening up a dark couch. Cushion covers to change up your aesthetic as you wish. Tablecloths to switch on the season/holiday/week, all different colors. Covering something with a light fabric (not too heavy, cuz then it feels weighted and, well, heavy) brings in that brightness he discussed in tip 3. Also helps bring in the texture discussed in tip 10, and you can switch it out to get different coziness vibes depending on your mood/preference (idk I'm an indecisive person 🙃)
With number eight, something I’ve seen again and again that makes city apartments look a lot more spacious. Design your living room suit around not having a coffee table. Even a few feet of wide-open space can give a smaller apartment that large loft open concept look. Go with end tables and removable tables for entertaining or meals if eating in the living room is your thing.
Oh, my goodness! I randomly saw one of your videos about two years ago, not logged into my own account, and I couldn't remember your details well enough to find you again. Now, this video pops up in my feed! I tried so hard to find you. I'm subscribing so I'll never miss you again! ❤
My personal experience with Tip 9: I used an over-the-toilet rack in my small kitchen! It worked perfectly with the kitchen tall trash can underneath and the shelves for fruits and vegetables that don't need to stay in the fridge and so many more.
I just recently moved into a loft apartment . I was desperately searching for some ideas about to work with smaller places. I was delighted to find your video and found it to be very helpful . keep on doing what your doing! You have wonderful ideas!
Tips for small spaces 1. Elevate your bed to store under 2. Build upwards use vertical space 3. Light over dark stuff 4. Mirrors 🪞 bring my Malta mirror 5. Keep space alive; add PLANTS 🪴 6. Clutter isn’t cute 😊 put things away 7. Break areas up with rugs 8. Later your pieces with under table storage 9. Try different types of organization 10. Add texture and tapestries
Absolutely love the space you said was behind your bed and then you said something about it being organized. Mine is exactly the same. I have stuff so it's just there squeezed in. I just can't imagine how people without stuff live. It must be a truly boring existence. To each his on so that's ok. My space (s) is never boring.
Great advice, Lone Fox! My place is 860 square feet (not tiny, but not large). I would like to add that your hacks for making small spaces look bigger actually work for even somewhat larger spaces. Obviously, a barren half-empty look isn't good, either - but people who feel the need to make their spaces feel bigger (even if they aren't really small to begin with) can use your principles to do so. And it seems that, regardless of a place's size, more storage is ALWAYS a good thing. So thank you for what you do!
Omg tip 8 is so genius! I was looking everywhere to see how I can add more seatings in my small apartment! Floor pillows will be perfect and cheaper idea! Thank you so much!!!

Hi Drew, very useful video for me! I just brought my first place - a one-bedroom flat in the UK. It is very small, but it's mine, and I'm going to make it my own space.
Try snake plants!!! Sanseveria or mother-in-law’s tongue... they are very hardy & thrive on neglect! Xo love your videos!!! I appreciate all the information in a short time frame! ⭐️💛⭐️

Go to a thrift store for frames. You can get frames made of different materials. Walmart has cheap spray paint if you want them all the same color. IKEA also has affordable frames.
I would check thrift stores for frames or even Ikea if you want more minimal and cohesive frames. I personally got all my art purchased and framed from Society6!
Thanks Drew. I always had a lot of junk, and now aspiring to be more simplistic, and got rid of a lot of extra things I did not need. Can still be very simple ,and very functional, and I love it.

Another hack would be to not buy big furniture if you have a small room. The bigger the furniture, the smaller the room will look!

Use a small wooden ladder, leaning on a wall for hanging blankets/throws ... or standing as shelving for books or decor items or plants. 😀
