      I can't speak for GeekVR's interface, but I can only wear the AMVR interface for a max of 40 minutes before I develop an excruciating bruise-like pain on the top center of my forehead.
      It's bad enough that I've gone back to the light-leak hell of the original interface, while I think of ways to make wearing the Pico 4 more comfortable to wear.
      I mean, I really like this headset, but if I can't make it wearable for at least a full hour, I'm going to have to think seriously about sending it on its way.

      I guess most users probably spent time gaming and chill more than working in VR. Maybe I might have to grab my 3d printer and start making it my own🤔. For sure, the passthrough is good enough for a quick glimpse of things. But for extended hourly use like writing essays, working on documents, or 3d modeling in Blender. having to double-tap passthrough every 3 seconds to check the keyboard shortcut just wouldn't work. I might change my mind after the Immersed app is launched on the Pico store (maybe the passthrough portal is good enough). But still, I really wish I could just comfortably work in VRChat with my multiple XS overlay screen.

    I got my GeekVR today. Sadly, I don't find it as comfortable as the original. I fitted the side pieces to the 20mm (required). Initially it was great, but quite quickly I found it hurt my nose. I tried the halo part, which was more comfortable, but I found that when looking up, it strains against the headset. Admittedly I didn't fit the nose piece and will try it later, but for now though, I don't find the GeekVR either as comfortable, nor does it feel as secure on my head, without extra tightening. • @gordontechreviews
      @gordontechreviews Рік тому +2

      With mine, in PCVR at max settings and bit rate, it doesn't actually maintain the battery but neither does some other solutions I've used so it's not just a bobovr thing. I think the Pico 4 is just drawing so much power that nothing can really maintain it but it DOES extend you playtime for many hours if your hot swapping the batteries. I find 4 batteries is the sweat spot. Use one while the other 3 charge until the headset itself taps out but that's after many hours for me lol

    • @DelDredd
      @DelDredd Рік тому +1

      My AMVR Neck powerbank maintains the Pico charge during PCVR, it only drops around 3-4 percent in a 2Hour play session. I also use a Iniu 10500mAh powerbank that can actually charge the Pico slowly while still playing PCVR as it has the capacity and current overhead to do it. BOBO batteries are only specced for 13 Watts 2.6Amps on their site so not enough power to maintain a Pico4 charge on PCVR.

The magnets were horrible so it wouldn't stay there was light leakage everywhere and the Halo part always popped off also it was a little too close to the lenses because my eyelashes were hitting the lens. Friend, I hate to ask but are you shilling for these people? I ask because I funded the kick-starter, $80 because I live in the US and I received one of the new ones and I reviewed it. This is a TERRIBLE product not worth anywhere near what they are selling it for. the magnet strength is bad (you didn't actually test the magnet strength), even with those "pads" I still got light leakage even on the thick pad. These facial interfaces work best when they actually wrap to the sides of the head. These don't do that and so they send those "pads" to make up for it but they are still insufficient. You didn't actually test this in proper Halo manner. You not suppose to use that top strap as per their own picture on the website. This is unusable in Halo manner (which is unfortunate as that is what I was looking forward to). IF they ONLY sold the elite style and scaled the cost down to 20-30 dollars, I could make a better argument for it as, in elite style, its an improvement over the stock BUT, and this is a HUGE but, AMVR makes a FAR superior option in the 35 dollar range so EVEN if they did what I said, I STILL could not, in good conscience recommend this and DEFINITELY as things currently are, STRONGLY NOT RECOMMENDED. hi Sebastian I just received GeekVR and I must say that I am not satisfied for two main reasons. The first concerns the thickness of the two masks which are practically equal. The thicker one is not thick enough to comfortably use the magnetic add-on prescription lenses. I almost touch the lenses with my eyes and feel my forehead and nose pressing annoyingly against the hard plastic of the viewer. The second concerns the nose piece that does not stay in place and sticks in the eyes. And finally the really excessive price for such a product. I will write to GeekVr to ask for a thicker mask. I really hope that they will respond positively by sending it to me for free because this is not good at all.

      It's really too expensive, no question. Maybe they made too less so the price for a single one was too expensive. Mass production lowers the price. Or maybe they really want to have too high a profit margin...

    Don't forget that this is only for his face. There are people with eyes who are very deep in their eye holes, for them it can work better. And also don't forget: there is a Spacer inside the Pico 4 package you can also use with this gasket to bring more space into it.

    Ich habe heute mein GeekVR Cover-Set erhalten. Leider mit gemischten Erfahrungen bei der Anwendung. Positiv: Das FOV ist etwas größer, was klar war und die Polsterung schön weich. Das war es aber auch schon mit dem " Positiven Erfahrungen " Negativ: Die beiden Einsätze halten nicht so gut magnetisch wie das Originale von Pico ! Man braucht nur die Brille abzulegen und die Face-Cover fangen sich an zu lösen von der Pico-4. Die Magneten sind zu schwach ! Weitere Nachteile/Unzulänglichkeiten - läßt man den Kopfstrip der Pico dran gehen erstens beide Face-Cover von GeekVR nur schwer dran so das man schon drücken muß, das diese auch exakt an der Brille anliegen - UND - noch schlimmer zieht man den Kopfstrip der Pico an drückt das Strip die Cover von der Pico weg ! Entfernt man den Strip geht das zwar - aber die Cover drücken dermaßen auf der Nase das es weh tut. Dieses Problem behebt das Kopf-Halo von GeekVR, welches die Brille leicht anhebt und der Nasendruck weg ist. Weiteres Problem mit dem Halo klappt man die Seiten der Pico zum Aufsetzen hoch und dann runter drücken die Seiten rechts und links der Pico auf das Halo und damit die Cover aus der ohnehin schon schwachen magnetischen Halterung - unzumutbar ! Hat man es dann geschafft die Pico endlich mit etwas hin und her ruckeln auf den Kopf zu bringen - funktioniert es auch. Aber diese Mängel sind einfach nicht akzeptabel und kommen mir wie im "Beta-Stadium" ( besser Alpha ) dieses Sets vor. Ohne dem mitgeliefertem Kopf-Halo ist das Set ein Schmerz-Graus aufgrund des Nasendrucks. Würd ich mir nicht wieder kaufen - ich weiß nicht wie die Tester z.B. bei MRTV zu so einer positiven Bewertung kommen. Mein Fazit und Warnung - leider - Hände weg !!

      You might want to look into VR Prescription Lenses

    • @kaecatlady
      @kaecatlady Рік тому +2

      HonsVR makes great magnetic lenses for the Pico 4 for a reasonable price, even compared to many other VR lens makers. My right eye is close to normal vision, but left eye's vision is pretty terrible, so being able to fit prescription lenses to my headset is a must.
      I haven't noticed any great drop in FOV with the Hons lenses, and for my level of vision they were quite a bit cheaper than this facial interface is. Even with tax and shipping. The price may have changed since I bought mine a couple of months ago, but the difference in my in-world VR experience has made them completely worth whatever they would have cost, versus my glasses.

      If it is only the glasses, you can use the Pico 4 spacer that was in its package and Sebastian forget again to mention it.

      It literally feels like your face is pressed up against a car seat from the 80's. Who finds that comfortable? How could your face not hurt when using it? Would you be okay with cement or sandpaper too?
