I was introduced to Parkway Drive from a buddy in my first year of college, right around the time of Deep Blue. The band actually came to the the city where my college was, London Canada. It was nuts that I didn't go thinking back. I think the first song I heard by them was Romance is Dead, off of their album Killing with a Smile. It was catchy as hell and had that epic ending, that's what I loved. My buddy told me that I should watch the documentary about them to really appreciate their music. I went back to my home town not long after and one night, my best friend calls me up and tells me he found a sick new band I should hear. Needless to say, it was Parkway. I told my friend that we needed to watch this documentary. That documentary changed the way I saw the band. I truly appreciated what they were doing. Making music for them was their dream and that's what I loved, seeing them happy. I didn't necessarily love screamo music back then, but these guys I could get my jam on to. I played the hell out of each album in order until I came back to Deep Blue. Right around that time, the band came and played in Toronto. I went nuts at that show and ended up crowd surfing and falling onto a table in the pit. I jumped off the table back in. Then Atlas came out and, while it did take a bit of time, I loved it to death. Seeing the guys progress and grow up through my ears was something I needed to have happen. They were exploring their sound and it was great hearing them try new stuff with what they love, which made me love it even more. Now Ire is on the horizon, and I can't be more stoked. Hearing each one of these songs has been the best thing of my life right now. I absolutely dig Parkway Drive. I absolutely dig their music. I don't think they've changed at all. The same guys doing the same thing they started off doing in a garage, making music. So what if they don't sound the same as their early stuff. If you want to hear the old Parkway, do just that, listen to the old Parkway. That's what I do. The new Parkway Drive is better then the old Parkway Drive because these guys love what they are doing now more then ever. I'm simply so excited to hear this new album because I know these guys are stoked to have us hear it. End of my personal Parkway listening history thoughts.
I started listening to them right around Deep Blue as well, all I can say is what you're saying is perfect! sick of the kids complaining, everyone changes, but Parkway seem to grow throughout the years. Cheers from Australia!
+Chirodip Basu theoretically they should all deserve it, people go through a lot of hard work, for years and years without making any money cause they just put the money they earn back into music and most fail at making it anyway. We shouldn't even use spotify, let alone torrent things, people just do it cause its the easy option and tbf i don't really blame those people but no one should be praising themselves or others for buying an album because everyone should really be doing that every single time.
+Joep R Its good and i like chanting but the chanting is this song is pretty lame. Just saying OOOOOooOO is boring. Chanting words is better in my opinion.
+Lyger Super busy with Uni atm man so don't have time right now :( Got exams next week but after that I'll have time to cover a heap of songs from IRE and even do a medley :)
+CobjayGuitar Exams already :S I just got into my final year at my uni and exams are not for like another month and a bit for mid terms hahaha, where are you from?
Been a fan since the first time I heard Idols and Anchors and Romance is Dead back in 2007. The epic ending to Romance was like the best fuckin thing I had ever heard and I lost my mind to it. This one and Vice Gripe have absolutely stolen my heart. The songs that focus on their astounding guitar work are the best IMHO, melodic riffs/solos blend so fucking well with Winston's beast voice and make it FUCKIN EPIC.
Everyone's a critic. As a musician I can respect and appreciate the new sounds coming from PWD. I enjoy everyone of their 60+ songs. For those who say they wanted more Horizons and Deep Blue, go fucking listen to those albums. These guys know they have the recipe for some damn good metalcore and were well aware of everyone's expectations of their 5th album. They stuck to the blueprints for a few albums and are just doing something different. Some bands can't do that with confidence but these guys play the music they want to hear and that's what makes pushing the boundaries so natural for them.
It's by far a really GOOD feeling to sit down, LISTEN and just allow this record to play FREELY on it's own. Thank you Parkway Drive for being there for US!
Well, these guys just earned themselves a new diehard fan. This shit is brutal - sick vocals, awesome lyrics, instrumentally wise everything is top notch.. Looks like i've been living under a rock for quite a while.
This is the best song so far they have released from this album. It seems to capture the early days like Killing with a smile and Horizons mixed with the later albums Deep Blue and Atlas. Hopefully more to come like this.
Fractures: Iron Maiden Bottom Feeder: Michael Jackson Crushed: RATM Vice Grip: Bon Jovi Sound Of Violence: Bring Me The Horizon Ah, i like it. These are the comments under each video of each song. There are some references here and there, but i like it :)
Literally the only song of this album that i really dig. I'm all for them being artists and needing to satisfy their need to explore new avenues. I'm glad they had fun with their artistic experiment that this album has been. But that said, the reason so many people fell in love with this band is because of these slowish melodic "scream it at the top of your lungs out of the car" type songs. Not the rehashed 90's metal and rage against the machine feel of the rest of the album. Love you guys, keep on keeping on!
6 months later and I have to say this is one of my favorite songs they have every written. The guitar riff/hook is just so damn catchy. I would absolutely go bonkers if they played this live and Jeff extended that solo out shredding for a while. Winston's lyrics are great (as usual) and tells you whats wrong with the world summed up in a few paragraphs in 5 minutes of vocals.
I dont care what anyone else says. I've been listening to this band since they came over to America and I've been obsessed with them since. I have loved the change in sound the whole way and I highly doubt that will change anytime soon. 9 years a fan and still this band remains my #1.
Rob o That's like saying a cooks dish is the exact same no matter how he makes it, and the consumer isn't allowed to make a comment on it. It's up to Parkway to make their music, it's up to us to like it or not. If it sounds different, or unlike Parkway(as perceived by their earlier work)then it's because it DOES sound unlike the Parkway as of late. Not a hard concept to grasp
I love how through the video of the song, The album cover slowly fades into a more Red ish colour, It's like the anger is rising, Tension is building. So pumped for this album
Im loving IRE, the album is great so far. I love hearing a new sound from Parkway. It may not be like Horizons or Atlas, but I still love it just as much 100% :)
I can't hate anything Parkway put out there, I love every album and almost every song! I can listen to every one without hating a single one! Am I superfan, I guess so but damn do these guys speak to me! The music and the lyrics which Winston comes up with just speak to me as a person. I also find it hard to rank albums - I appreciate the theme and effort of each one of their albums, I recognise the evolution of the band and the people within the band and that is enough for me to stand up and say thank you PWD for each album & the work that you've put in guys!
best one off the album. After Atlas and Deep Blue I felt like they grew more sophisticated and versed technique- wise but lost almost all of the amazing flow and feeling od endless space compositions from Killing and Horizons had. This song lets me believe they still got it and can not only play but put together amazing songs. More like this please!
+Szymon Sobczak taking back what I said. the album is da bomb. I totally don`t get Deathless which seems like a parody to me (sorry) and Writing on the Wall. The rest is good ol` Parkway and I`m fucking lovin it. The Flow, the Power, the screams and the rhythm. Once again after two so-so albums everything falls into place. Perfection
I wish they would've finished that last solo instead of leaving it half done then covering it up with a fade-out. PWD, why did you do this! And on the song I like best so far, too! Here's hoping the other songs in the album deliver.
Some old school sounding Parkway Drive for all the old fans. I'm a huge fan of all the songs and albums but this takes me back to the KWAS days, Fuck Yeah!
1000x yes this song right here, bout to listen to it on repeat for like next 3 days haven't gotten through the whole album yet but I can assume so far it'll be all I listen too for the next month or so
Hearts of fire unite and man their barricades Truth is overwhelming and yet Hollow men still talk in vain Sowing sickness, shifting focus away Setting in stone a future we cannot sustain
After listening to the 2 singles they released i was tempted to dive in and buy the album, after 1 listening to this 1 song albums on the way! Get it bought!
Working out to this!!!!! All day !!! Don’t call it a Murph if it’s only half Lt Murphy was not half a man !!! A quarter of him surpasses 20 of us !! RIP !
+Tizzer Hizzer Atlas is probably my favorite because it's the album that introduced me to parkway. Horizons is a absolute rager as well but this new album actually might turn out to be my favorite from the looks of it. It mixes everything i love about the metal genre in general. It has the groove on songs like crushed. It has beautiful melody on songs like vice grip plus it has those trademark parkway type songs that bring you back to the days of the first few abums.
Completely agree mate. Wasn't a big fan of atlas. Used to be obsessed with killing with a smile. Then when I heard horizons I instantly wanted to be teleported to one of parkway mosh pitts
+luke weaver yeah I have all of there albums. I love all the songs off of this new album also so far. Not really THAT big on bottom feeder but it is good
+Mark Eyman II I understand your point. I personally wasn't wanting like Horizons or Deep Blue, as great as those albums are. I appreciate the style they went for in this album, but I wish their instrumentals were still just as technical. I think that could have been accomplished with this style. They've really dumbed it down in this album. It's just power chords mostly without any intricate rhythmic patterns. I'm glad they are broadening their horizons with style, but if only the instrumentals were just as technical, if not better than, as their pervious albums.

So amped for the whole alabum Love the horizons feel of this one, the production is clearly very pricey and well done but I prefer the drum sound of deep blue, vocals and guitar on IRE sound tight as hell though Man I love this band
This is an evolution of horizons. The six new songs are growing on me. Th order for me is: 1. Vice grip 2. Crushed 3. Fractures 4. The sound of violence 5. Bottom feeder
+childofbhaal It does seem like they're using power chords and chanting a lot in this album though. I actually like this album for the most part, it's just a little musically generic in terms of technicality compared to their other albums. That doesn't mean it's bad in my opinion, it's actually a well composed album.
I was introduced to Parkway Drive from a buddy in my first year of college, right around the time of Deep Blue. The band actually came to the the city where my college was, London Canada. It was nuts that I didn't go thinking back.

End of my personal Parkway listening history thoughts.
From London as well man. This is exactly how I describe my experience with this band too. Rock on! \m/
+Matt Scott going to western in london as well, great metal scene here. Love the shows Ive been too here
Loved your story bud. From fellow Canadian to another. Respect!
I started listening to them right around Deep Blue as well, all I can say is what you're saying is perfect! sick of the kids complaining, everyone changes, but Parkway seem to grow throughout the years. Cheers from Australia!
Finally, a REAL Parkway fan. Much love for your story I have.
Buy this album men,
Dont just torrent it. This one deserves it !
+Chirodip Basu I own all of Parkway Drives albums!! I preordered Ire, and will be picking it up this weekend!!
David Lamb True fan :D
The solos stand out the most in the album. Plus, Winston's vocals seem a lot heavier.
+Chirodip Basu theoretically they should all deserve it, people go through a lot of hard work, for years and years without making any money cause they just put the money they earn back into music and most fail at making it anyway. henryplatt amen brother.
I just cannot fathom why this song isn't more popular. In my opinion, it's one of the best on the album & one of the best songs they've ever done.
Those last 2 minutes
Idk how I’ve looked past this song.. what a track
Indeed.
Best one so far,
Begins with a Horizons feel, and the chanting makes it only better!
+Joep R i agree
+Joep R naamgenoot :D, and yes the song is awesome
+Joep R Its good and i like chanting but the chanting is this song is pretty lame. Just saying OOOOOooOO is boring. Chanting words is better in my opinion.
+Ricardo Gutierrez So was Wild Eyes lame?
+Slipz Sanz who the fuck cares if the music is heavy or not? If it's good music there's no problem.
this is easily one of their best songs, the guitar work on this track is amazing
Horizons + Home is for the Heartless + Wild Eyes = Fractures!
Dude cover this ASAP!
+Lyger Super busy with Uni atm man so don't have time right now :(
Got exams next week but after that I'll have time to cover a heap of songs from IRE and even do a medley :)
+CobjayGuitar Exams already :S I just got into my final year at my uni and exams are not for like another month and a bit for mid terms hahaha, where are you from?
+Greg Rocheleau Australia haha. Got midterms starting tomorrow then finals like 6 weeks later
+CobjayGuitar

One of the greatest Metal bands of our time.
Amazing song! Only complaint is cutting the solo short. Jeff nailed it
This is the best song so far they have released from this album. It seems to capture the early days like Killing with a smile and Horizons mixed with the later albums Deep Blue and Atlas. Hopefully more to come like this.
This song fucking jams! Lol at people saying PWD fell off, gonna be one of their best songs performed live, no doubt.
+Jack Browne caught u mirin my gains, negged
+Slug Battalion rep back brah
Devin Lathrop
das it mane repped
Never played if live lol, atleast no sign in youtube...
I love the group vocals in this one
This has got some crazy power behind it. The chugging riff, the pushed vocals... it's amazing
Parkway Drive had chanting in Deep Blue. What the hell are people getting all worked up about? I love this.
+solrahlx They think this is the first time they're doing it.Even Atlas had chanting.
Ikr haha, have they ever even listened to Wild Eyes
My ONLY complain is fading the song out during Jeffs solo...
+Justin Lee But imagine it live! It would probably last for a good while :P
+Justin Lee Ikr. Twas some badass tapping
+Justin Lee it's to leave you wanting more. This wont be their last alabam
+RAWWRIMAPIRATE Not Idols And Anchors though!
Tyler Barnes no tapping. You can hear the picking.
Fractures>BottomFeeder>Crushed=ViceGrip=SoundOfViolence
+Julien Roy the fractures of the bottom feeder crushed the vicegrip with a sound of violence
***** Damn that's good
+Quique Cubero a "thumbs up" to you sir!
The Bottom feeders were crushed by the sound of violence that fractures our vice grip
+Jost Who Exactly vice grips crushed the fractured bottom feeders with the sound of violence
They have to play this on tour ! It has the greatest potential ! WE NEED THIS LIVE PARKWAY !
Fractures: Iron Maiden
Bottom Feeder: Michael Jackson
Crushed: RATM
Vice Grip: Bon Jovi
Sound Of Violence: Bring Me The Horizon
Ah, i like it. These are the comments under each video of each song. There are some references here and there, but i like it :)
This song has been on repeat for hours. Can't wait for the rest of the album!
This album is gonna kick ass!
this is fucking good
new alabum will be sick
Now that is what was needed! Loved it through and through. Best one yet! Can't wait for the album.
Literally the only song of this album that i really dig.

The most Parkway sounding song so far.
agreed!
+Joe Mallard eh they all sound like parkway to me, seeing as they're all by parkway
+Rob o Don't be a snob, you know damn well what he meant
Tyler Jaynes
i hate when people make comments like that. it's not up to him what "parkway" sounds like. it's up to parkway.
This song is absolutely amazing!
By far the best one that has been released off of IRE so far!
Can't wait to hear the rest of the album!
I love how through the video of the song, The album cover slowly fades into a more Red ish colour, It's like the anger is rising, Tension is building. So pumped for this album
With their new style, Parkway drive has definitely created one of the most perfect albums I've ever heard before! Great stuff!
Im loving IRE, the album is great so far. I love hearing a new sound from Parkway. It may not be like Horizons or Atlas, but I still love it just as much 100% :)
I can't hate anything Parkway put out there, I love every album and almost every song! I can listen to every one without hating a single one! the first song in the album is called "Destroyer"... cant wait for it, it must be thug as fuck
+HD Breathless Straight lol'd @ "must be thug as fuck"
+HD Breathless Dude the fucking album title means "I Rekt Everyone", it's thug af.
Eh yeah. Still a solid album. Definitely different but i'm digging it. Writings on the Wall, Bottom Feeder and Fractures are my go to songs for now...
I really really love this song. I love the groovy verses between the chorus's like they had on sleight of hand.
I forget how many good songs PWD has put out over the years........and then I realize they are one of my favorite metal bands of all time!
best one off the album.
Perfection
love the fade out so much
Parkway is The. Best.
I wish they would've finished that last solo instead of leaving it half done then covering it up with a fade-out. PWD, why did you do this! And on the song I like best so far, too!
Here's hoping the other songs in the album deliver.
I fucking love these guys every album they get better long live parkway drive
this is amazing. they're my favourite band and i just can't believe how astonishing the new album is !!!!
Without a doubt, the best song they've released on Ire so far. Crushed comes second, then Bottom Feeder, then Vice Grip, then The Sound of Violence.
Some old school sounding Parkway Drive for all the old fans. I'm a huge fan of all the songs and albums but this takes me back to the KWAS days, Fuck Yeah!
FINALLY a song off this album that sounds like the parkway drive I love.
1000x yes this song right here, bout to listen to it on repeat for like next 3 days haven't gotten through the whole album yet but I can assume so far it'll be all I listen too for the next month or so
this new album is awesome!!
Hearts of fire unite and man their barricades
Truth is overwhelming and yet
Hollow men still talk in vain
Sowing sickness, shifting focus away
Setting in stone a future we cannot sustain
WELCOME BACK PARKWAY!!!!!!!!!! :D OH HOW I'VE MISSED YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!
This is amazing! Absolute festival anthem!
this new alalabum will be sick. (please tell me you getz it)
+Charlie's Drum Corner u made my day XD
alabam* 😂
alahu Akbar :v
+Charlie's Drum Corner that dude was so impossible to understand lol
What are you saying?
omfg i cant wait till this album comes out..it will not leave my headunit for months
After listening to the 2 singles they released i was tempted to dive in and buy the album, after 1 listening to this 1 song albums on the way! Get it bought!
Daymnn this song is badass still havent listened to every song on IRE but so far this crushed & bottom feeder really stand out to me
Working out to this!!!!! All day !!! Don’t call it a Murph if it’s only half Lt Murphy was not half a man !!! A quarter of him surpasses 20 of us !! RIP !
Their albums in order for me:
1. Horizons
2. Killing With A Smile
3: Deep Blue
4. Atlas
Tizzer Hizzer, have you ever give their EP album Don't Close Your Eyes a listen? Also a pretty quality album.
+luke weaver yeah I have all of there albums. I love all the songs off of this new album also so far. Not really THAT big on bottom feeder but it is good
+luke weaver Fractures actually sounds like a mix of atlas and horizons
Definitely my favorite song so far...
Holy. Fuck. This album is going to be masterpiece
It has that Horizons feel to it....the song....not the album.
Perfectly said
+mets23569 Agreed. None of the other songs did anything for me but this one is a banger, hoping the rest of the album sounds like this.
+mets23569 I was already wondering whether I was the only one who thought that :D
+mets23569 reminds me of Five Months
This isn't the album Horizons.
well parkway drive you never disappointed me I love all of your songs
I hope parkway drive do a video with this song , would be amazing , the song is amazing.
+Mark Eyman II I understand your point. I personally wasn't wanting like Horizons or Deep Blue, as great as those albums are. I appreciate the style they went for in this album, but I wish their instrumentals were still just as technical. I think that could have been accomplished with this style. I'm glad they are broadening their horizons with style, but if only the instrumentals were just as technical, if not better than, as their pervious albums.
hands down my favorite so far
This and Crushed are my favorites so far. Badass tune.
I'm in fucking love with this album. Parkway is the absolute best.
Seeing the same sort of comments from people here as I saw back in the days when Horizons first landed, and Deep Blue, and Atlas.. Fans either totally love it, or really hate it. Comes down to preference/opinion! As a band you can't always sit in your comfort zone you've gotta experiment with new sounds and styles.. Wether you like it or not, you've gotta respect Parkway for having the balls to take their music in new directions. I personally can't wait for Ire, keep on rockin' \m/_(ツ)_\m/
This comment is beautiful.
well said!
+Henry Ward Couldn't agree fucking more
this song really needs a music video
"We can't turn.back once it begins"
Bitter Blightrrrrrrrrr.. Fractures Liiiiiife.
Strong Iron Maiden feels at 2:51 - 3:00
The intro tho
Funny seeing you here, now all I have to do is find your secret metalcore band
my favourite from the album so far
September 25th needs to hurry up, I've been hanging out for a new parkway album since 2013
So amped for the whole alabum
Love the horizons feel of this one, the production is clearly very pricey and well done but I prefer the drum sound of deep blue, vocals and guitar on IRE sound tight as hell though
Man I love this band
This is an evolution of horizons. The six new songs are growing on me. Th order for me is:
1. Vice grip
2. Crushed
3. Fractures
4. The sound of violence
5. Bottom feeder
5:04 it's just perfect)))
The beginning makes me think the Power Rangers are about to come in and kick some ass
Sounds like it could be on Atlas. I'm definitely feel like i'm listening to "The Blue And The Grey". This is their best song yet from Ire.
Love Parkway Drive !
Definitely the best one released so far
This legit saved my life. Id be dead if it weren't for this
I wish that solo at the end didn't have to fade out. Sick tune.
Fuck this rules. Right up there with Crushed. Gang calls are on point.
My top 5 Parkway albums:
1. Deep Blue
2. Atlas
3. Ire (May change, still has to grow on me)

Good work!!!!!!! Awesome guys!!!!!
What Parkway really needs is a clean vocals singer as well
+Mashu Mashu No way! That'd kill the flow of the instruments altogether. Winston is a one man show and that's how it should stay.
Perfectly well done music is what we can see here dudes. Overwhelming respect for you guys.;)
Album so far in a nut shell: Power chord WOAHHHHH WOAHHHHHH power chord
You forgot the "YEAH YEAH YEAH"s champ
That's why Jeffs playing melodic leads throughout the entire album? But nah it's just power chords.
+CoDisafishy you sure you're not listening to a stick to your guns album?
+childofbhaal *joke
+childofbhaal It does seem like they're using power chords and chanting a lot in this album though. I actually like this album for the most part, it's just a little musically generic in terms of technicality compared to their other albums. That doesn't mean it's bad in my opinion, it's actually a well composed album.
five months and idols and anchors best guitar solos.
Sounds sick!
This song is soooo damn badass!!! Can't get enough!
BUY THE RECORD!
The best Track so far!
That intro got me good....
I've been waiting for this!

Such a shame to fade out on such a great part of the track.
