I bought my SE a couple weeks ago. Love it!! I'm most impressed by it's well-thought-out design details, overall quality, sporty handling, and amazing fuel economy. I've been getting 39 to 40 MPG in town and up to 50 MPG highway, depending on traffic conditions and keeping highway speed down to 70 - 75 mph. Wind resistance will reduce fuel efficiency if you're driving over 80. My only complaint is I miss having a moon roof, but ya can't have everything. : )
Great review, love to see more Canadian reviews! Was considering the Mazda 3 and this Corolla, got the Corolla as the end, quite happy so far, Mazda 3 has more space but I really like the look of the Corolla, another pro for Corolla is that apple car play is standard, you have to pay extra to get that on Mazda3. However, the new gen Mazda is quite exciting.
I agree! We do have the Mazda 3 on our list but we haven't gotten there yet. But keep it between us, I'm picking up my Corolla Hatch on the 23rd this month ;)
Canadian only since Americans don't have Forte 5 GT Limited trim (hatchback). I'm considering this or Forte 5 GT. They're both good and fun to drive. Also mpg are about the same. Reliability though might be lower on Kia (due to turbocharged engine) but they had excellent powertrain warranty. Even though its long the turbo engine just won't last as long as NA engine and over time the clutches of the DCT needs to be changed and unlike a manual you have to reprogram the transmission computer to accept the new clutch (I wish it was adaptive without resetting it with their special scan tool).
Mark Anthony Velasco the recall was only for some of the transmission parts of about 3,000 vehicles made in a 2-month period in some specific town in Japan. It did not affect the entire car population. Apparently, some batches of parts utilized were bad. I own the XSE CVT version (top trim) and love my new hatch. It’s got only 600 miles in it. My car was not affected by the recall.
Mine had this recall with the cvt transmission. It happened at just over 13,000 miles and it was easy to recognize the issue before it got bad. The torque converter will become detached from the rest of the transmission is what happens if I remember correctly. It was fixed easily and quickly and have had no issues since!
solen 1 that’s comparing apples and oranges. A GTI’s super powerful engine doesn’t compare with this 4 cylinder, 168 HP engine. The GTI is a $40K car made for the German Autobahn. This one is $23-27K and it’s mission is completely different from the GTI’s raisin d’être. I’ve owned the VW Sportswagon Diesel TDI and now own this amazing hatch, the top trim XSE CVT. It’s a joy to drive this great vehicle, and it’s got some Golf characteristics while driving. The handling and suspension of this vehicle are superb and car enthusiasts are commenting how Golf-like it is in some of its reactions on the road, and how it does some things better. Comparing the Civic R with the GTI is a more appropriate comparison. This one competes with the regular Civic, the latest Elantra, the Golf (to some degree) and the Mazda 3 (to some degree). But comparing this to a GTI would be pretty silly. Note: I rented the new Mazda 3 for a whole week and preferred this one hands down for a handful of reasons. Naturally, beauty is in the eyes of the beholder.
The people who thought this was a Cadillac or a Corvette have never seen a car before.
Bought mine in all black 3 weeks ago and absolutely love it. SE with upgraded package and really cant complain about anything
That's so awesome! I'm pretty sure I'm gonna get one for myself too. P.S nice name ;)

I am still waiting for mine to come in; a 6-speed Blizzard Pearl XSE!

Here in Australia these Corolla's cost $11000 dollars more.
no driving impressions?
If you put your volume and mute and just watch his hands move, you could swear you are watching a rap video.
Jordan Scott TV my phone was on mute. Thought he was! Lol
my only complaint is it doesnt have android auto
I heard they plan on doing an update to include Android auto for customer cars. You should probably bug your dealer about it..
@Qahar Raheel The dealer I bought my car from is a friend.. nope😁

Great Review- Think I have my mind made up, after looking at too much🤪
Is it available now for the Android version installation?
I’m sorry but who the fuck thought this was an S-class? Like what?
Or a Corvette? I own this car and like it, but geez, it's a corolla. Get over yourselves people
Nice hatchback, but it's too low to the ground.
Nice car, designed is awesome needs more powerful engine to match
I read that there was a recall by Toyota. Any feedback from owners?
I actually bought the car myself! Video on it releasing Tuesday. Stay tuned :)

What color is this one in the video?
Galactic Aqua Mica
Ben Ciha My Favorite color!
Test drive a volkswagen gti before you buy.
And beware of long term reliability. No thanks
I used to work for vw. They're great car but expensive when things break and on top of that you really can't fix them yourself.
