Very impressed with the interior pieces you made I keep taking my TR6 apart just to clean parts and put back.
I totally understand why you clean things no one sees it is rewarding to make it better then when you found it
Thank you for all your videos
Thanks Jim, I'm glad I'm not the only one 😁
Automotive restoration and philosophy! You are a treat to watch, Johnny. I knew you would clean the inside of the rear taillights even though no one will see them but us. Great job on the wheel arch upholstery pieces particularly.
Haha thank you Albert. I sometimes wonder if I'm boring people whenever I share my thought process. But that's who I m as a person.
Looking very nice now Johnny, the black interior looks very sharp against the TR yellow. I’ll follow up this one as it’s nine months now..
Hello Johnny,
You made a fabulous job of the rear arch covers... Exciting times as the interior goes in...
Cheers.
Paul,,
Hi Johnny. I bought two of those lamps in November 1979. They were £79 each. They are about £400 now. I still own the car. Your car’s now looking great. Keep it up.
Hi Mark. I was nervous of dropping one of them when it came to fitting.
The underlayment came out great the rear quarter panels look amazing.
Hi Ralph. The underlay was such an off the cuff idea. It turned out great
The only thing to do now on the wheel arch is to locate the hole for the seat belt . I’m pretty sure you can locate it from under the car.
Seems like a long time ago we were discussing the arrival of this moment mate. I know it will look fantastic when you’ve applied your magic!
This is the part I have been looking forward to for the last 9 months. Ive suddenly found a new enthusiasm for the restoration.
Progress….. Well done ….
I'm on my last lap 😁
Hi Jonny just a little thing the metal behind the grill came out the factory painted black
Hi Paul. Well spotted, even I didnt pick up on that 😁
Johnny. Well done. I’m about to replace the interior in my TR6. I’m curious about the underlayment you used. The molding/shaping ability is seems super useful. Please share the brand name.
Cheers
Hi Scott
the underlay I used was household carpet underlay. I was lucky enough to have had some remnants left over from when I had a carpet fitted. so I'm not sure what brand/type it is exactly but I believe theyre all pretty standard. I did a quick search and this came up which is pretty similar.
