As a malaysian, going to KL Tower to see the view is the best choice you can ever have rather than going to Petronas Towers. I've been there and the KL Tower view is way better than PT. U did a great job and yes save a lot of money

For a good educational outing, consider going to the National Museum (Muzium Negara), the Islamic Arts Museum and the National Mosque. They are all fairly close-by. For a foodie outing, go to a night market (pasar malam) e.g. Saturdays @ Jalan TAR, Wednesdays @ Taman Connaught or Sundays @ TTDI (all accessible by MRT/LRT trains).

LRT & MRT not fully underground but they're mostly lifted too. Same goes to monorail in KL city. Which are connected to each other. So for those who want to explore KL city & Greater KL from above with less walking, cheaper & cozy. Just hope on those trains.
Eg for North West KL. From KL Sentral, catch MRT to Kwasa Damansara, continue with another MRT to Titiwangsa. Then, change to monorail. Or just continue to change MRT at Tun Razak Exchange. Back to KL Sentral. All about in ± 3 hours.

For electronics, cameras, computers and gadgets go to low yat plaza.
Basically in malaysia inside all the malls like suria klcc, pavilion, lot 10, starhill, sungei wang plaza, berjaya times square, one utama, the curve, sunway pyramid, etc, there'd be food courts apart from the individual eateries, usually located either at the top most floor (where the cinemas often are) or at the basement floor (where the banks/atm - automated teller machines or cash machines - often are), and generally these food courts have numerous stalls selling a plethora of food either of local varieties or foreign food including western, japanese, korean, middle eastern etc, and their prices while still higher than what you can get outside in places like kampung baru that you will visit, are still cheap or reasonable

Additional information. The cable car ride will make a stop at Chin Swee Cave temple. Should you decide to visit the temple please keep your tickets as you can use the ticket back to continue your cable car ride to the top of the resort
If you do not wish to visit the temple , then do not get off the cable car just continue your ride to the top of the resort.

And don’t forget to try Ramly burger.
My personal fav is Ramly Burger Special, which is a beef patty (there’s chicken option too) wrapped in egg. Double Ramly Burger basically means 2 patties are used, and you can also add cheese (I’m no fan of cheese)
It’s very saucy, so do not unwrap everything to hold the burger directly as it will just fall apart and become very messy. Keep the wrapper on, and unwrap as you eat.
There are many stalls selling this burgers, and they have their own ways of preparing them, so one stall does not represent how the next stall’s burger taste. One way- just order 1 or 2 burgers from each stall and try them along the way.
The idea of food discovery in Malaysia is, just have enough of taste instead of a complete meal at a particular place, and you move around to try 3-5 food places

    Welcome to KL ✅👍
The Girls are fearless on the KL Tower glass floor : amazing 😅
Explore the Bird Park , Pavilion Mall Bukit Bintang, Berjaya Mall with a roller coaster 🎢 if you are into it, Lots of cafes around KL area - do your research and select your preferred dining experience, try other malls too : Mid Valley & The Gardens, One Utama, and if you are adventurous go visit the cultural route: lots of Chinese temples , mosques and Indian temples around KL. If you have the appetite would recommend you travel out to Genting Highlands and stop over the temple stop via the sky cable cars 🚠. Batu caves may be a bit much for the girls 272 steps - monkey risk and all 😅 some new spots in KL are the Lalaport & Sunway malls & there are some cafes & restaurants behind Swiss Garden hotel that you may fancy. Do some research to select your preference. Happy exploring and stay safe always 🙏

KL Tower is more accessible because it was designed as such. The Petronas Tower has crowd control, i.e. limited access as it is a commercial and building, and you’ll need to plan to go up to Petronas Tower.
There are many nook and cranny in KL, which probably is difficult to discover as you guys are travelling with kids…. Maybe you guys can go to Petaling St, aka Chinatown- it’s kinda touristy but locals do go there for food, especially at the fringe of the Chinatown Centre. Late night food like claypot noodles and hokkien mee are great, but the gem is the morning venture for breakfast in the area- just ask the locals for food like best chee chong fun, nasi lemak, roti canai, soup noodle, curry noodle, laksa noodle, fried noodle, local dim sum, etc. Best time: Around 7plus-8 AM, the morning flare ends from 10 AM onward
