I have learned my lesson by folks like you to use carry on bags. I did a 2 week trip in your beautiful country of Switzerland with multiple outfits - formal, informal, and hiking with no problem.
Misleading information is always a disaster. The most efficient way would have been for the luggage to be collected from the arrivals carousel at the least if not transferred to the train. Wow, that must have been a hectic trip mate!
If I was you, I would've just boarded the next train to Basel. After all, what's the worse that can happen? You'll get a fine for not having the right ticket? Not your problem, you'll just bill Lufthansa for the cost under Article 19 of the Montreal Convention because the cause of the delay was within their control.
Sorry to hear all this, after watching this I will be flying to the Far East in May and had the choice of going via Frankfurt or Munich.... Needless to say off the back of this Bavaria for me!
Lufthansa is not good anymore. I was Senator Member of LH for more than 10 years. They did extend for one year during Covid and no travel. I was travelling mainly to and from Kyiv on business every month, but when the war started I could obviously not travel. I asked if I could keep Senator or another level after being a very loyal client for so many year. But NO answer and then i just got a simple basic card, as anyone signing up first day. I am now travelling every month to Asia on business class, but NEVER with Lufthansa any more. So disappointed that there are no loyalty from LH.
Don't worry, the full flight review will be more Uplifting! So long as we don't talk about the food. Or the boarding. Or the lounge. Other than that, it was great! Oh, and the lack of mattress toppers. And the wifi. Yep, gonna be a great video!
Lufthansa is not handling your bags, you should know that.....and not responsible for the DB delays. You chose to go by train. Why didnt you buy seat reservations? You should have called the damage online and take the train. Cover the damage with a plastic bag from Rewe in the train station....Its not so hard if you are not lazy
@@MarkusTravels Fraport handled your bag. Maybe it was already broken while being handled in Canada? And you rather stand and make a complain video instead of paying 5 Euros?
@@johanstoffels2250 again Lufthansa did not handle the bagagge, and is not responsible for train, It doesnt make sense to trying to claim a defect luggage during transfer. You also wouldnt do it when you have a transfer flight. And also, it was business class, not first class
Deutsche Bundesbahn is worse than UK trains for delays, really. I ve lived there for 21 years so I do know. Fft airport you have to walk miles, not a great airport which surprised me since Germany is supposed to be efficient. Not so with travel. Oh well....
Lufthansa should just do away with tagging bags to the train station. Instead, they should all be tagged to FRA and sent to the regular baggage claim and offer an optional porter/baggage storage service at an extra charge should passengers need help with taking their bags to the train.
feeling very sorry for you. the processes between airlines and deutsche bahn are not thought through at all and it shows in your report. to be fair, most of the problems you describe are not under control of Lufthansa. as soon as you stand on the train platform, you are a regular DB customer exposed to the everyday issues they have (delays, wrong order of cabins, overbooked trains etc.)
Mainly a luggage handling issue and ground service problem. I have flown to Tokyo with them few times recently (as a change from Swiss when we met ;-) ) and I have to say the product is solid (business class 747-8 and 350). But on the ground it is another topic indeed.. and the lounge in FRA is bad. Very bad....
I will be publishing a pair of videos about the LH 787 we flew in business class. The experience was certainly better than previous LH C ones I've had!
Sounds like a bizarre competition: who can perform worse LH or DB😮
In this contest, there were only losers. Including us.

Carry-on is the key! The round-the-world trip I did at the end of last year was hand-luggage only.
Misleading information is always a disaster. The most efficient way would have been for the luggage to be collected from the arrivals carousel at the least if not transferred to the train. Wow, that must have been a hectic trip mate!
It was pretty messy. But at least it was not very stressful. Thanks to the massive delays. We had all the time in the world!

The train we took was the next available train, unfortunately. DB had massive cancellation on this day.
This is wild!!!
Thanks for watching!
Poor experience… 😢
Yes, it wasn't excellent.
Good day-like it!that's insane . 📹
Thanks for watching!

Munich is an excellent airport. You will love it, I'm sure!
Always love your videos, so infomative
Thanks for watching!
At least your bags did not go to Ethiopia :)
Not this time!

I remember my Senator days fondly! It was a different company back then.
I don't have a nice experience with Lufthansa too. Their air ticket price is costly and yet very very lousy service.
Some parts of the service are indeed subpar.
So am above average Lufthansa business class experience? We never got our bags back flying business lol, treat business like economy
Definitely above average, by LH standards!
I’m exhausted just watching this episode!

OK, I'll bite. Who handled my bags?
I did have seat reservations. DB refused to transfer them over to the two new trains.

Why not just get a connecting flight to Basel
LH did suggest that as an alternative. But they didn't have any seats available on the day.
7 Bags for 2 people? Were you moving?
It sure felt like it!

Next time I'll make sure to manually ask for the bags to be tagged to FRA only.

It's sad. I would like to support train travel for these distances, instead of flying FRA-BSL.
been hearing more and more bad things about Lufthansa recently. seems they are falling.
Yes they are clearly struggling.
First travel rule: Expect the unexpected.
Second travel rule: BUY DECENT LUGGUAGE!
Good advice!

Unfortunately Typical german service
Thanks for watching!
Typical the result of some useless planners and managers who never did a try out, and probably never travel with their own company.
Yes, that could definitely be the reason!
Thanks, Brexit! Not even once!
