This might just be the best acustic queens of the stone age song ever. Too bad the people at the tv station that filmed this couldn't get the title of the song right.
The more I listen to the lyrics I have a feeling this was an ode to saying goodbye ( maybe for the 1000 time that week) to heroin or crystal. " Push it in break it off" " There is blood in my spoon" " I dont need you" very clever lyrics, love the double speak awesome-
I agree with your choices, I also appreciate suture up my future as well, I just get sick at reading people's comments that anything after Oliveri left is not good, I think their last album was excellent as well.
Nick sang in songs Auto piolet, quick and to the pointless, tension head, millionare, six shooter, another love song and thats pretty much it. And for those of you who dont know Josh wrote all the bass on the fist album. Nick didn't start writing bass till the second album. Nick's great but even without him, the job is still getting done.
not so bluesy but I know he appreciates a wide range of musical styles...I really think they are a true milestone in music. They brought back the concept of making music for the love of music, not for some other shit..that's the wonderful thing about the palm desert scene, the desert sessions albums are the proof of that, AWESOME music
Odonnolly you are worthy of the Douche of the Year award. Josh was highschool friends with nick. They had an awesome friendship. If you actuallly knew the truth youd know he had heard rumors about him beating his girlfriend and then found out it was true.Josh was so disgusted and had no choice but to kick him out. A man like that doesnt deserve to be in this band. Nick was a cool musician but what he did was unforgivable.Tell your theory to that poor girl he beat.
No worries.. To those who still miss Nick, QOTSA grew up.. Josh done it 4the sake of the music. I'v bin on their tour bus & its a DRUG FREE zone. They quit. It was just beer, cigs & Haribos. Mikey's wild on bass! He got hired after Josh told him,"to be in the band, its all about blood and performance." & Mikey said: " Yea, which do you want first?" There was a different chemistry with Nick 4 sure, & those albums will live 4evr. But 4 fucks sake, get over it. They have. If in doubt, go c em live.
well... not all of use "younger generation" uses p2p I persenly buy everything... ...It gives you something extra! you get the point right ;) But I do agree that people have to buy the album/single/lp/ep/etc insted of download it... but it an't only the young ones... (It's easy to say "they did it") but the older"and "grown up" to ;) anywho BUY THE RECORDS ;) and don't take the easy way out ^^ do it for peace love and music ;)
jept: josh was pissed off by nick's attitude. that's y he got fired. josh has mentioned that nick acted like he wanted to emulate sid vicious and that caused them lots of problems (being banned from hotels and the sort, and which qotsa fan doesn't remeber what he did in brazil?), but the finishing blow was that josh got to know that nick hit his (nick's) girlfriend. that pissed josh the most, so he kicked him out the band. about nick's comeback, he has mentioned he would agree if asked to return
They have changed musically alot since the debut. "Regular John" and "Make It Wit Chu" are too different things. But I think that is good..I want my favorite bands too cover all sorts of emotions, not just one! All QOTSA's albums are great! Which is the best is a matter of personal opinion.
Hey guys, I found the vid that SloopyCheeseFinger were talking about. It's called: "Josh Homme's answer for those who miss Nick Oliveri". Go check it out.
Troy essentially makes happiness come out of his guitar.
Nicks hair wrote this song.
Josh's singing in this is just beautiful
My god, troy's intro solo gives me goosebumps everytime, great performance
The more I listen to the lyrics I have a feeling this was an ode to saying goodbye ( maybe for the 1000 time that week) to heroin or crystal. " Push it in break it off" " There is blood in my spoon" " I dont need you" very clever lyrics, love the double speak awesome-
And then Do It Again is him picking up the habit again.
"This might just be the best acustic queens of the stone age song ever"

And Ode to Clarissa
Ah sweet! Troy freaking kicks ass in APC and QOTSA! never knew you could do that on an acoustic.
Ouvi essa música a adolescência toda e agora 17 anos depois eu vi que erraram o nome da música no começo kkkkkk
Agreed again. The desert sessions are amazing.

I think the main reason i like Queens of the stone age is that i prefer good music and musicians.

These are good harmonies, but that crazy falsetto harmony in the studio is unbeatable IMO.

Nick´s gonna leave us for up to 15 years
Lets hear it for Nick, without him the Queens are great but with him they rocked.
@NightmareSnake mate, you are in for a treat when you're discovering the other albums.

I cant help but think about Nick and Josh when i hear that line.
Queens rule bring back Nick, josh you fool, you write the best stuff with him.....
cool
jept: josh was pissed off by nick's attitude. that's y he got fired. josh has mentioned that nick acted like he wanted to emulate sid vicious and that caused them lots of problems (being banned from hotels and the sort, and which qotsa fan doesn't remeber what he did in brazil?), but the finishing blow was that josh got to know that nick hit his (nick's) girlfriend. that pissed josh the most, so he kicked him out the band. about nick's comeback, he has mentioned he would agree if asked to return
haha, after breaking up with a crazy chick...this is the best song to listen to. gives you even more relief...
2:05 - BEST part by far
I jizzed at the 'solo' parts from Troy.
@cudatheferocious Well, I've been listening to their singles for a while, but didn't get into them heavily until a few moths ago.
They have changed musically alot since the debut. "Regular John" and "Make It Wit Chu" are too different things. But I think that is good..I want my favorite bands too cover all sorts of emotions, not just one! All QOTSA's albums are great! Which is the best is a matter of personal opinion.
I second that - QOTSA = FAn'F@#$ing'Tastic
fucking amazing
funny you bring this subject up on a song with such a simplistic baseline
shit HOT song!!!! kicks ass
lol go with the flow xD
Didn't you hear they both died? RIP my sweet princes.
He kicks arse- He's just cool as.
Think I re-idolised someone. Josh Homme now plays second fiddle
Hey guys, I found the vid that SloopyCheeseFinger were talking about. It's called: "Josh Homme's answer for those who miss Nick Oliveri". Go check it out.
it says "go with the flow" on the tags, such damn programmers...
If you like this, check out "Autopilot" on Nick's Demolition Day album. All I can say is it is mind blowing.
wasnt that on rated r
fucking rock and roll
2:05 Awesome
what are you on about? it's exactly like the record. it's a weird harmony but he's doin it right.
