Hey there.. I LOVE buying older Alienware units. I like the R10s and R12s. I bought several when folks were just getting them to harvest the GPUs. So I got these a couple of years ago. But the R10 running 5000 series ryzen has a lot of room to grow. I only buy the 1000W Liquid Cooled units. I've gotten several at the $400 to $500 price point and they make great gaming and content creation rigs. Are they as "fast" as they could be? Nope.. not according to synthetic benchmarks. But could I tell the difference in real-world use? Nope.. While being proprietary, that also means they are tightly integrated to work. And, dell is excellent for drivers, support documents, service guides, etc. I know they are the prebuilts all the "big UA-camrs" love to hate, but in real life, I love em. Cheers Rick
@@ZachsTechTurf Hey there. What I love about the Alienware systems, at least the R10s and up, is their integration. I know they are not the best for enthusiasts looking for optimal noise, heat, and performance, but they do just "work" when used as designed. I've only run into problems trying to run them outside the lines. Also, Dell does a great job with their support (tech docs, etc.) of the platform which makes building and maintaining them easy. Lastly, I have several custom machines in all shapes and sizes including a Thermaltake Ceres 500 with RGB goodness (it's my personal workstation i9 12900K w/ RTX 4070 TI). But regardless of all those other custom systems, it's the Alienware systems that everyone seems to gravitate to. To me, and I'm certainly not alone, they just look cool. I recently swapped out the simulator PC at our Civil Air Patrol squadron for an R10 Ryzen 5600x w/ RX 7600 8GB. Everyone immediately gravitated to the R10 and complemented it's look and performance. Bought a 2014 Alienware area-51-r2, with Intel i7-5930k liquid cooled, gtx 980, 1000watt power supply, 32gb ram, with an ssd for windows. This pc lasted forever. I upgraded the gpu to a 3060 in 2022 and it ran flawlessly. I recently gutted everything out of it and put a Ryzen 5900x build in there with the same 3060. The case is amazing. It’s got plenty of room for massive air coolers unlike the one in your video. Plus the air flow is much better

Alienware can be a good deal off Dell with coupon codes/cash back. I got a refurbished Aurora R15 with 13900kf / 4090 for $2600 by stacking coupon codes and got $300 cash back as well. That was only a bit more than a 4090 by itself at the time early last year. @SportsRaha make sure the socket is correct, the cpu generation will matter. For AMD the sockets are AM4 and AM5, for Intel the 10th and 11th gen CPUs are LGA 1200 socket, older than 10th gen is LGA 1151 socket i believe, while newer CPUs are LGA 1700. So make sure your new motherboard is compatible. Also, sometimes even if the socket is LGA 1200, it may not support 11th gen CPUs, the socket is for physically fitting into the motherboard. So a quick google search “is the ‘cpu model’ compatible with the ‘motherboard model’”. Hope that helps

Hi Zach!! Do you think getting an RX 6700 XT and a Ryzen 5 5600X (with 32GB DDR4) would be a good USED PC for $400? I think this is a good deal because used RX 6700 XTs go for around $290-300 from what I have seen. Please reply saying yes its a good buy or its not. I am not to sure. THANKS!
hey, which is the best combination for 1440p and simracing? ryzen 7 5700X with Rtx 4070 super, ryzen 5 7600X with rtx 3070 ti, or ryzen 5 7500F with rtx 3080?
You'd need to swap the motherboard to get a meaningful upgrade. If you want to transfer your existing RAM over and save money, AM4 or an LGA 1700 motherboard with DDR4 slots will do fine, then you choose a CPU depending on budget. A Ryzen 5 5600 (the 5500 has half of the L3 cache, which makes it noticeably worse for gaming) would be great on an AM4 motherboard, or an i5 12400 on an LGA 1700 motherboard. Something to note about moving to AM4 is that RAM speed matters a lot. Using 2666mhz RAM for example would reduce performance by a decent margin.
Hey, currently watching this on my R10 that I have upgraded a lot. The specs are a Ryzen 7 5800x, 32G of DDR4, a 3060, and 1 tb of hdd and 1tb of ssd that I put in it. I am trying to upgrade and selling it has been a pain on marketplace right now I have it listed for 750$ because I thought that it was a fair price but after this video I am not to sure. Could you tell me a good price I should list it for?????

Hey Zach, I'm really in need of an upgrade,. I have had my current PC for 6 years. It's rocking an RTX 2060, and an AMD Ryzen 5 3600. I bought it prebuilt but added 16GbB of DDR4 RAM. My budget is $1000$ to $1300$. I play mostly CPU-intensive games, but I have a couple of GPU-intensive games that I also play a lot. could you please make a video about this?
Do u recomend a rx 580 8gb with a xeon e5 2670 v3 as a budget gaming pc?
Only if you're on a crazy crazy low budget
@ZachsTechTurf thanks cuz I dont have a big budget but I need a pc that's good for gaming cuz my friend has the same specs and he runs fortnite at like 200 fps
@ZachsTechTurf cuz I need it for editing on premire pro and davinci resolve cuz my old pc could run premire pro but It crashes when I export and davinci resolve just doesn't work so I always have to go to the school library to edit cuz they have like pcs with better specs
THANKS!
Yea that would be a great deal but you aren't gonna find that unless you get ultra lucky
Oh I already found it on Craigslist.@@ZachsTechTurf but is it a power spec g510, is it still worth it?
Interesting..

hold on.. did you just grow your hair in like 5 mins while reviewing that case?
My pc shows a 11.2% bottleneck for graphic intense tasks but it is a gpu bottleneck. Will it hinder in my frames for gaming.
Is jawa actually good?
I know that Zach is sponsored by jawa, and I'm not in the US (UK)
Just wondering
I have rx5700xt and i7 6700k. What would be the best cpu to get rid of my bottle neck?
ryzen 5 5600x or 12400f
R5 5600 it's better and still at a good price
If you want to stick with intel the i513400f is a good choice
We've been saying what CPU to get but the mobo determines what you can get....shit overlooked that
You'd need to swap the motherboard to get a meaningful upgrade.
Using 2666mhz RAM for example would reduce performance by a decent margin.
i am wanting to start flipping c so could you make a video on that???? anyhow I always love your videos you the best PC builder at there so thank you
i will buy windows 11 pro
I got that same exact case but a rx 3700x and 2080super 16gb for 500 was it a steal?
Hey, currently watching this on my R10 that I have upgraded a lot. The specs are a Ryzen 7 5800x, 32G of DDR4, a 3060, and 1 tb of hdd and 1tb of ssd that I put in it. I am trying to upgrade and selling it has been a pain on marketplace right now I have it listed for 750$ because I thought that it was a fair price but after this video I am not to sure. Could you tell me a good price I should list it for?????
What computer build would you recommend for VR? My budget is 3000 and I don't know much about computers lol oh and if your wondering why I don't just buy one it's cuz I like building stuff
