2022 Jaguar F Type R AWD Convertible: Start up, Exhaust, Test Drive, POV and Review

- 👋 In todays video we take a look at the 2022 Jaguar F Type R AWD Convertible! This is the top dog for the F Type line up with the supercharged V8 engine! The exterior has great lines that flow nicely throughout the entire vehicle! The front end is distinctive for the Jaguar and also functional in a lot of ways to provide maximum cooling to this engine and also provide better aerodynamics! This 2022 Jaguar F Type R also had the upgrade brakes which are massive! And being the convertible, it has a nice design whether the roof is up or down and on this model, everything is pretty much brown on brown and works well! The rear end has a nice design and this 2022 Jaguar F Type R sounds amazing!!
The interior is covered in premium materials like the leather, piano black and all the trim! The digital gauge cluster and infotainment system have a lot to go through providing a lot of tech and options depending on what you need! It's a very spacious interior with a good amount of storage space which is nice to see especially for a two seater! The cargo area is also decent even for it being the convertible! I like how that space is interrupted from the top going down, so you don't have to worry about moving items to put the top down! (which also happens it a matter of seconds to go up or down).
The driving experience is absolutely phenomenal! What a drivers car that is smooth when you want it to, and a little stiffer when you need it just by pushing one button! The paddles are very smooth as well and this is a fast car! The exhaust note is exactly what you want from a stock car and how a proper V8 should sound! I remember driving the 2021 Jaguar F Type and there was no exhaust note, so I'm excited that they brought that back for 2022!!
If you want a luxurious sportscar but you also want very good performance, the 2022 Jaguar F Type R AWD is a perfect blend and of course you can get the coupe as well! Definitely a "sleeper" as Jaguar is more on the luxury side, but they offer some amazing performance models!

I feel like the F type is underrated honestly
It really is! Such an amazing car and it rips through the mountains so we’ll! Definitely a top runner for a daily luxury performance oriented vehicle!

Really interesting that they have got the sound back up with the V8. Such good news. I had a 2016 V8 F Type and it was the best sounding car I ever owned. Was so disappointed when they were forced to make them quieter so great to see it has its burble back! 👍🏻
Me too! I drove a 15 which sounded amazing and then a 21 which was quiet! So I’m glad it sounds this good stock!

I’d probably pick the Jaguar over the Mercedes! I haven’t been in that model so can’t say for sure, but it was a sweet ride!
Push the little button and the door handle will open. You don't have to push it so hard that you push the whole door handle in. Same with closing. Give it a light push and the door handle will retract. I swear every review I see of these cars people always way over do it. Sorry I don't mean to nit pick but it kind of hits me the same way as people who slam car doors. Love the review! Amazing car!
You can honestly do it either way, it's not going to hurt it one way or the other! You'd have to faintly touch it to not move the handle as well. It's a fantastic sportscar for sure!

It’s definitely an option! All Jaguars have an option for Heated and Cooled Seats! Like Porsche, it’s an A La carte option

I believe if you push in on the climate control buttons that control the air temp, you will see the heated and/or ventilated seat controls appear for you.
I tried!! It doesn't work, this model didn't have heated/ventilated seats!

What things are NOT available in the basic version?
Nice review. A couple of notes - ZF is a torque converter transmission and you can’t put the spoiler up and down by using the button while driving. It’s only for cleaning mode while parked (in the US. In Europe, the button works while driving). Cheers
The ZF is a great transmission for this Jaguar! And I was able to use that button to adjust the spoiler while moving! Didn't show that though.
Yes the zf8 is the best torque converter trans giving you the benefits of being able to creep in traffic and shifting almost as quick as a DC, possibly the best transmission for a gt car
@@johnnyboy1586 I agree. I like it in my f-type 400 coupe. The DCT in my 335is was a little faster but definitely more jerky in traffic

This is probably the most beautiful car in it's class but they have really started to rest on that. It should have those features you mentioned. 120k without heated or cooled seats in insane. It should have ambient lighting too. I hope they come harder with the full redesign.. 🐆

F types are awesome but nothing beats the 2017 model look. This newer look is eh..but it does sound better I believe.
I've heard that as a common view point, liking the older model more! This 2022 definitely sounds great! I know the older years sounded really good, and then the 2021 went silent, so I'm glad Jaguar brought the sound back!

Generally brown on a car is not working for me, but this brown is an exception...Particularly on the F-type...Really seems to suit the car in my opinion. Expensive option.

@@BrosFOURRSpeedUnfortunately this color (and all SVO paints) are on constraint. I just put an order in on a 2024 R coupe, but unfortunately the color options are very limited for this final year car. Too bad. This brown with that tan interior is ideally what I would have preferred I think.
