    I have a mini and he’s a real character! Had dogs and many different breeds, but this guy is a mind reader, has tons of energy and is just awesome! He needs constant brushing, but you get a magnificent companion. Never yell at them or you will devastate them. They operate very close and bond with you completely. He gets along with my two other dogs, and is very smart due to the poodle (golden r smart too). Overall a great breed

    I lost my best friend of 13 years in July. He was simply the best dog! He always did his best to please, and he was always, always by my side. I miss him dearly. He was my soul-dog, for sure. But in a few months I'd like to get another furbaby, another goldendoodle. This new baby will not replace my sweet Toby, but I think I can love another puppy again.

    My #1 rule with Grover is "Exercise by 10am or Exorcism at 11". He's 9 months and the cross between a Detective and a Ninja. There ain't diddly getting by him when it comes to my movements and he is a stage 5 Cling-on. He is frustrating yet Hilarious and I love the little Guy very much.

      We have two.Winston is 5 years old and his nephew is 8 months. You almost can’t tell them apart, but they each have their quirks. They are my buddies and even though they love every member of the family, they are MY dogs! I completely understand the exercise or exorcism. We walk marathons each day, usually 3 miles in the morning, and smaller walks throughout the day. During the summer, they will be in the creek, or splashing in the pool with me. God I love those characters!

    • @danielmeuler2877

      @@davidmitchell1239 That's awesome. Do you keep your dogs hair short in the summer? I have been told different things as to if they need to stay long to keep cool or if they have to be clipped short to stay cool. Originally I was told they have to be kept longer, to Never shave in the summer. I took my Doodle into to get washed and clipped and instead of doing what I asked them they just shaved him dam near to the skin. So now it looks like I have a scrawny black greyhound. lol I wanted to cry when I saw him. Totally didn't recognize him when they brought him out. I honestly wondered if I had the rite dog at first but he answered to his name to well. I got over it after a few days. But he is wAy happier short so now I have to find a happy medium. I love the little Guy more than anything. Even tho he is 1/4 as cute as he used to be😂. I Never met a Goldendoodle that didn't have a more in Depth personality than the average dog. You get them next to other dogs and you can see in their eyes that they have more going on upstairs.

    I recently got a 4 month old goldendoodle. I’m a senior and she keeps me moving! She was already trained to use a doggy door and knew how to sit. Although she is very smart, training has been a challenge at times but she’s learning! She’s still teething so using frozen green beans as a training treat has helped. She starts a training class next week and I’m keeping her in classes until she can be trained as my Service Dog. I had a poodle for 17 years so I’m familiar with that level of stubbornness and independence. Many thanks for the training tips!

Her energy level is high for couple of hours a day but she also comes down easy after a walk. She is a really sweet dog and also pretty gentle with my 2 year old grandchild

    We had our boy for 13 years. Lost him last week to inoperable tumours. Loved him. Miss him. He will be hard to replace, but we are searching anyway. He was so happy in life that when we came home, he smiled. He grinned so sweetly because he couldn't help but show his joy to see us each time. He needed and got lots of exercise every day. At 70 pounds he was tall and lean but so very food motivated. I will always recommend Golden Doodles to people who ask. Living in Thornhill, Ontario, Canada, we are now shopping for a new Doodle, possibly a Bernedoodle this time. Any Breeder recommendations within 4 hrs of of Yonge St. & Hwy-7 are absolutely welcomed 🙂

      A day after I typed this, a wonderful family approached us asking if we would be willing to take their 23 month old English Golden Retriever because their 6 year old daughter has been diagnosed with severe breathing allergies. Suddenly that unmistakable void and silence in my home got replaced and I dont even need to toilet-train him. I guess the Doodle part will need to wait for a time, and yet we are Golden again (well, maybe more White than Golden in this case because English Goldens be like that). My family and I am so very lucky AND happy.I'd post a photo if UA-cam would let me. Good luck to all.

    Make sure you have a large back yard for them to tear up and if you're at work a lot, make sure you have two dogs so they can keep each other company. We had two doodles, brother and sister from the same litter and yes my job was to clip them on a regular basis. If you decide to start clipping your own dog/dog's, buy a really good clipper and have plenty of spare cutting heads. They get dull really fast. They are super smart, only need to tell them once.

    After our two other dogs passed due to old age, we took on a 3 months old goldendoodle the very first time now 8 months now. It grew a lot from a small puppy. His hair now covers his eyes wonder if he can see! While walking thru the wood, his long hair picked up seeds so many of them that I had to spend hours to get rid of them for him. I do comb his hair often. He can stand against the kitchen counter and helped himself with whatever he can reach his hands on then get diarrhea if he ate something not good. He is a high maintenance dog compared to other breed of dog and need lot of love that we try to give it to him!

    Funny Goldendoodle puppy 13 weeks old. Yes, her daily "five minutes" lead to short power burst sprints from left to right and back. Everything is chewed and our job is to teach her what can be ruined and what not 😁. Chewing is also the method to calm her down after she powered. A very intelligent race, similar to the high level of Border or Bearded Collies. House trained quite fast, only a very few accidents left, we are impressed 🤗

    I have my first doodle, she is a 10 week f1b golden doodle. I’ve owned beagles, a Havanese, a lab, a border collie, a spitz, and my nanny dog as a child was a boxer. The doodle is the best puppy I’ve ever had, so smart! She already seems like an alpha so we will have to see how she mixes with my daughter’s frenchie but shes great with my Havanese so far. Havanese are known to get zoomies too so we may have lots of puppy tag in my backyard. She couldn’t be more stubborn than my beagles were.

    My 5 month all get 2, 1 hr walks daily and short burst of playtime BUT, he gets the puppy crazies each night between 5-7. Then a half hour of aggressive behavior biting, jumping and pulling things off the tables. He is ONLY caged when we are out tops 1-2 hrs , and caged at night. He is such a sweetie , love him. He’s already learned sit, stay, and learning come. 90% potty trained. He jumps and nips so we turn and ignore. Someone told me to exhaust them mentally rather than physically due to their intelligence. My husband and I are Both 63 yrs old. Help us understand this puppy crazy thing!!!

      @missyyy- Рік тому +2

      My puppy is over a year now and calmed down quite a bit but when he was that age he was very aggressive and tested my dominance every day. It got to the point where I had to actually physically hold him down (gently of course) to assert myself as Alpha. And sometimes I had to do this 3 or 4 times in a row, at increasing lengths to get him to submit and stop being aggressive. Good luck, things will get better.

    • @g.rausch396
      @g.rausch396 Рік тому +2

      There are several games to play with intelligent races. Ten minutes brain time are equal to 30 minutes physical playing. Dogs cant see that well, but smell even better. So - they lead their lives by their nose! Give them sniffing jobs. Level 2-3 game boards to find goodies under obstacles. Turn empty, hanging bottles to make goodies fall down etc etc.

      It’s called zooming and it’s hormonal. Talk to your vet if you’re really concerned. But they will grow out of it I am told. Our doodle is 8 months old. His zooming decreased after we had him neutered. He’s super playful, LOVES his walks, loves to learn and HATES being groomed. I’m told he’ll get used to it. We bribe him with his measured treats for his daily grooming, which he will tolerate with his kibble. (Sort of). We are in our 60s and feel as though Jasper has enriched our lives with laughter and joy and I believe we have enriched his as well.

    We have two. 1 is a F1 5-year-old and the other is an 18-month-old F1b. Sasha the F1 is quite laid back and very intelligent. Hair is almost straight and apricot in color. She weighs 65 pounds. She's quite independent. She will let you know when she wants attention. Example of why I think she is smart, one day one of our other dogs was in the far corner of our yard (about 250 feet away) and wasn't coming when being called. The wife said "Sasha, go get Holly" Sasha took off and herded Holley back to the house. She was never trained to do that, and it was the first time she was asked.
    Our other "Isabella" that's an F1B is as goofy as can be but yet smart. Her hair is very curly, and she is snow white. Weighs 62.5 pounds. Learns quickly and very affectionate but can be very active and if left alone long will get into trouble. Example: chewed about halfway through a 4-inch table leg, the corner off one kitchen chair seat cushion and the corner off a 200.00 table pad.
    We get very attached to our dogs and thinking about the day they are no longer with us saddens me greatly.
    Edit: Both were house broken in 10 days.

    My golden dood is now 15.5 years old. His overall health is great and he eats well for an older dog. No health issues but he has the litany of problems that show up with older dogs. He has always been very dominant but that tendency was reduced after we sent him to a trainer. That said, he is still the alpha with our other doods but he practically ignores other dogs. Loves people, family, strangers but he's jealous of anyone who takes much of my attention. I've spent nearly every day with him over the course of his life and I wouldn't take anything on this planet for him...warts and all.

    Drive past a house on the Speedway here in Talladega & there was 2 pit bulls & a miniature, golden doodle chasing cars so I stopped. And asked if I could help provide a fence but instead they handed me 3 dogs, 2 pits & a doodle who had no learning, & thoroughly matted, with AKC papers. He’s now been neutered & has a little bit of learning under his belt. The pit bulls are easily maintained & training has been simple. But the doodle is another story….. I keep his coat cut down to centimeters & try so hard to keep the knots at bay but with out much luck…. Never wanted these dogs but it’s ok, they changed my mind for me ❤

    You're gonna have a hard time finding doodle breeders who can provide you with PennHIP or OFA results, let alone both. Doodles are great (I had one) but they're almost always bred by puppy mills or backyard breeders. I've been in contact with breeders near me and they can never give me a direct answer when I ask for OFA tests. They'll usually just say they have "folders" with health testing or give you a link to Embark which doesn't do the testing that OFA does.

    • @theirmom4723
      @theirmom4723 28 днів тому

      OFA testing gives false confidence. Just b/c the parents are cleared doesn't guarantee the pups will be clear. Hip issues in large breeds are just that...random hip issues.

    Wait ... There's a real, like an ACTUALLY REAL, breed of dog that looks this, AND it's name is Golden Doodle ?!?
    It is imperative that I am able to walk the streets, proudly presenting my Golden Doodle for all to revere and praise.
    Where can I buy The Golden Doodle ? Is there a password ? I bet there's a really cool password.
