Join us as we build a Narrow gauge layout for Statfold Barn Model Railway Show hopefully in time for the 1st and 2nd of April.
This Episode covers the built up layout after some testing. With the Layout looming will it be good enough on the day.
I ordered my scale model scenery boards from
tonystrainsofrugby.com/ give him a ring or see him in store so he can get them in for you.
BB029 and BB017 are the boards I used.

Really enjoyed seeing the layout in real life on Sunday. Great series of videos. Really think the bridge needs some railings but it still looks superb.
Congratulations Tris, the layout is simply stunning. All the modules work well with their neighbour and the whole layout is totally believable and immersive. Love the deer in the woods. Unfortunately, I cannot travel up to see the layout and you in the flesh, but I wish you a great exhibition which I am sure will see the layout get many compliments. I've really enjoyed the build. Hope it wasn't anything valuable that got broken off camera. Cheers!

Can you take some spare push fit trees with to so as to hide the gaps in the backscene boards when at the exhibition🤔
Also I think that the left hand side of the layout (when viewed from the front) is crying out for a bridge with a road atop to hide the entry/exit point. An addition for later maybe🤔💜
Hope that the damage wasn't too heartbreaking or extensive ✌️🤞👍💜

It’s clear that you’ve invested many hours into this project. I loved the view of the train as it passed through the wooded area. Great build, really enjoyed following this.

Great to have a chat with you today Tris, as I said the at the show , it looks FAR BETTER in real life than on my laptop screen! I have enjoyed watching the build from a pack of boards to a grand OO9 working layout. 👍🙂.What I should mementioned was you were able to help a chap who had hearing difficultise on how you had done the river surface 👌👌setting his phone to scane a box thingie so he could watch your method, The same person was egregored by a trader at the show😡🤬 which angered me & was dissapointing as prob he lost a sale, but on a high note I noticed he purchased the same item from Elaine's Trains, who like you made time for him.

Looks great all set up and good luck with the show. I think the Bachmann Mainline Hunslets (Linda) have a tendancy to be a bit tight with the cracks not quartered properly so worth checking

Have been following this series - well done Tris! Hope you enjoyed Statfold. Having operated narrow gauge layouts at exhibitions for some years I can vouch for having a sequence to follow so you don't get bored when operating the layout! It helps gives you something to focus on when you aren't chatting. Also gives friends helping something to get ready in the fiddle yards for the next movement.

Hi Tris, have really enjoyed this build. I am a member of ScOOns (Scottish OO9 Society). We are a virtual model rail club who meet twice weekly by Zoom although we occasionally meet in person when we have a stand at an exhibition. This build was particularly interesting as a number of us are going to be building a modular layout which will be put together at shows....no danger of problems!!! As each builder will have carte blanche it could prove interesting. Enjoy the show, I'm sure your layout will be very well received. Regards, Ron.
