I have enjoyed your video and it really helps me with my recovery from my brain tumour and stroke as I try to get back to my modelling I mention my illness so you know who is watching and why Great inspiration thank you 😊
23:49 Imagine my surprise when I'm seeing a Hungarian Mk48, pulling its native passenger cars, on a video about a narrow gauge show in England, on a layout designed to resemble Czechia/Austria. Wild, I love that little engine
Great record of the show that makes up for those of us who couldn't get there. Real quality filming by someone who knows when to move the camera and when to keep it still!
Well worth the time and effort you put in to the overall video with prototype and models 👍🏻 You suffered the same as the rest of us, not enough time to get around and see it all, we needed three days! 😂
Hi Laurie, nice saying hello to you at the show. I was right, I didn't need to take any more pictures as you had it mostly covered. Great video and lovely camera work, thank you. I agree, it's the best show I've been to and thoroughly enjoyed it. Would be great if it became Annual or Biannual. 👍
Seeing these lay-outs make my narrow gauge lay-out of the Murtalbahn in Austria look like a joke. Have lots of work to do. Greetings from the Netherlands.
I model H0e, which is the same as OO9, just for H0. It's alot of fun because you can fit so much stuff in a rather tiny space compared to ol' H0. Also the trains are so cute and tiny :)
Thank you Laurie, very, very much for this film. Due to a foreign holiday, arranged well before the show's date was announced, I was unable to attend - heartbreaking - so your filming is as good as being there myself. (And cheaper - I can't be tempted by any of the trade stands you show!)
Great video, Lawrie. 35:33 The scale of the planned exchange is very exagerated, but there was a plan to send Linda briefly to the Darj' that never happened (mid-00s?), so there is _some_ sanity to this!
Excellent looking show. I have plans for a 009 layout but time and money is slowing thing's down a bit. I have some track and locomotives but that is it really.
Hey lawrie! Another model railway exhibition idea which is beginning tomorrow & ends on Sunday is the Lydney model railway exhibition. In a potential video you could talk about the model railways in the exhibition and the nearby Dean Forest railway. Hope you read this and visit!
Does anyone know the story behind the narrow gauge southern railway? The paint scheme is the same as the standard gauge southern railway we are all familiar with, but I tried doing research and I couldn’t find out if they are the same railway company.
I am glad to see Front Runner, especially now they have gotten rid of the tatty old Comet cars from their standard consist. Now if someone would just make a correct MP36PH-3C locomotives to haul it… hint hint hint hint
Please learn to pronounce Welsh names. You avoid speaking Dutch and German but massacre the Welsh names. Edit: And learn the Irish pronunciation too! Ted Polet's layout is pronounced Craig Dawve and means Black Rock.
Hints. C is always hard (like a K), single F is more like a V. E is always eh, not ee. So Cefn is Kehvn. Y is more like a short oo sound crossed with er. Admittedly I'm using Southern pronounciation.
Thank you for coming over to have a couple of chats with Martyn and I on the Talyllyn stand 🙂
"Not all of us can buy our own locomotive"
Is that a flex, Mr. Lawrie who owns two?
*3
I like how the Statfold Barn Railway has a very diverse collection of locomotives.
I have enjoyed your video and it really helps me with my recovery from my brain tumour and stroke as I try to get back to my modelling I mention my illness so you know who is watching and why
Great inspiration thank you 😊
I really like that 3 car railbus. There's just something about it, the proportions are wrong and yet so right. Love it.
Thanks Lawrie, nice to have met you!
Superb video Lawrie, and thanks for the kind comments about Turtle Bay :)

All that abandoned car beneath the trestle bridge needs now is a couple of model people with a tripod, filming a “Will it run” cinefilm 😉
I must visit Statfold Barn Railway one of these days!! It would make a wonderful weekend!!
That "Narrow Pacer" was something to behold!!
Absolutely fantastic record of an amazing show. Thoroughly enjoyed the weekend and thank you from Kaninchenbau, my computer operated rabbit warren 😊👍👍
Some of the scenery modelling was outstanding in those layouts, great skill
Thanks Lawrie! 🙏🙏

It was a great exhibition 👍🏻
One of the best
I could see myself falling down this rabbit hole.

Nice seeing some other talkies appearing along with a fun musical montage too
Thank you for taking us with you!
Miniature heaven🚂
After watching the video. I think I want to start on 009 😍
There's so much you can do with it!
Wonderful event, wonderful video and of course wonderful layout... thank you for sharing
I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Very nice layout s .iam going to look in to that gauge.. thank you.Have a good weekend

Kinda reminds me of what we have here in the US called On30, just that its O scale 3 foot gauge instead of 2 foot HO
Great video as always lawrie❤😁👍
One of your best videos! Absolutely fantastic
Some gorgeous layouts, Laurie!! Nice to see such an event videoed!!
Magnificent Video !❤
Went to the National Narrow Gauge Convention in Denver CO, USA recently. Very cool to see the Brit’s narrow gauge in this video.
Great video, Lawrie. 35:33 The scale of the planned exchange is very exagerated, but there was a plan to send Linda briefly to the Darj' that never happened (mid-00s?), so there is _some_ sanity to this!
My dad is in the 009 society but unfortunately couldn’t make it. Great vid anyway Lawrie keep the work up
Congrats you got the 1st comment
Enjoyed the chat, enjoyed the video
fabulous show and footage.
Great video. More please!
wow some excellent layouts!

Minor point, Launceston, is pronounced lawn ston or locals call it LAN sun
Hey lawrie you ever going to be able to get back over here 🇺🇸😁
once i leave college, im so volenteering at a local heritage railway
Excellent thing to do
Where do the 009 Society get such smooth 0-4-0 chassis from? I can't seem to find any good 0-4-0 n gauge locos for standard scale.
Kato.
Where is this located?
It was at the Statfold Barn Railway
Ok thanks
the 009 pacer is a 3d print
Yes and free to download file too😊
Unfortunately it's harder to get 009 items in the USA
Does anyone know the story behind the narrow gauge southern railway? The paint scheme is the same as the standard gauge southern railway we are all familiar with, but I tried doing research and I couldn’t find out if they are the same railway company.
The Southern operated the Lynton and Barnstaple railway.
make a 00-9 model railway
Still waiting review our steam engine
I am glad to see Front Runner, especially now they have gotten rid of the tatty old Comet cars from their standard consist. Now if someone would just make a correct MP36PH-3C locomotives to haul it… hint hint hint hint
Plus double 009 allows the locomotive and N scale track to replicate how the locomotive and track is in the real thing
Yeah that's what happens when you scale things properly lol
Why is 009 so expensive
It's pretty similar to an n gauge model of the same size
Two foot gauge just looks like toys for people in America who run 3 ft gauge
And especially when comparing American standard gauge to 2 foot gauge
OO9 is actually 2 foot 3 inch not 2 "
100th like

Don't worry, I massacre English too.
