This is clearly the culmination of all your hard work for the viewers, and I can see this video blowing up in an absolutely huge way. @@kamalzaveri4089 You asked for the best, which means the answer will be something like a Flashforge Waxjet that cost 70,000 dollars. That's for results that doesn't require any processing, otherwise just grab a Mars DLP printer for its sharpness and start there but you'll be dealing with scan lines that need post processing.

I started with any Anycubic S which has been a good starter and it was a gift. I want my next resin printer to be my last … or at least my last for a long time, so my mum always taught me to save up and buy the better quality. Thanks for making me aware of the best. $850 is honestly not bad if it lasts me for years and allows me to finally create the larger characters that I’ve always wanted to build and paint.

I got a Anycubic photon mono 4k as a Christmas gift, and finally opened it up this week. I admit I went from hero to zero when the sample file printed great, but then was exposed to the whole world of slicing (gulp).
I really appreciate your content as it has really helped me these last few days.

I'm sticking with the D2 I got earlier this year. After pairing it with Craftsman Resin, upgrading the vat to a metal one lined with ACF film, and using a 25c heater; I've been getting decent prints with it that I'm pretty happy with.
That said I'll keep an eye on GKTwo and Elegoo if they ever make vastly improved DLP printers. I've ruined a few printers due to user error (cracked screens from forgetting to remove hardened resin from a failed print, leaks damaging glass and boards...) and having a thick plate of glass instead of an LCD/Mono screen has given me lots of peace of mind.

Thank you for doing this video. I have been looking for my first 3D resin printer for awhile now to print miniatures. I tend to do a lot of research before buying things as a lot of things sound great on the outside, but after doing research on the item, they end up not being what they seemed. All that to say, I almost bought a Phrozen Sonic Mini 8ks, but now I think I am definitely going with the Uniformation GKTWO. Wish I had caught the $230 off sale for the Printer + Wash Station + Curing Box bundle. Ohwell. At least I know what printer I want now. Thanks again for the review and insight. It is very much appreciated.

I got a GKtwo as my first resin printer in large part because of your original review. I liked it a lot but had some growing pains with it coming from using a Bambu x1c for FDM printing, but I keep realizing how many things the GKtwo does right that I take for granted. It just has so many small (and large) things that make it so much more user friendly and while I could handle a different printer now, there is no way I would have had the focus or time to learn on most of the other printers out there without pulling my hair out. It was totally worth it.

I have a photon mono right now as my "starter" that i bought before i'd really even done any homework on printing as a whole, but I'm definitely going for the GKTwo when i upgrade, specifically for the extra features like the heater. I've got my little photon dialed in and singing about as well as i can, but overnight temperature swings in the 50 or 60 degrees fahrenheit range are not uncommon in my area, and that's the culprit in an overwhelming majority of my failed prints

After amazon informed me of the existence of 3d resin printers "on sale" in the form of the M5S and watching this I bought the Elegoo saturn 3 ultra. Since you asked, personally I wanted the absolute maximum detail I could get, it may not matter but making whatever my heart desires out of a liquid turned hard plastic is the coolest thing ever imo. I now have everything I need for medium-high grade post processing and painting for what I consider to be only a small dent in my savings overall and I'm absolutely hooked, 3 weeks in, 15 bottles of 1000g in 12 varieties/colors, and a ton of noob mistakes later .-. this is my new favorite hobby even considering the safety steps for ventilation/contamination.

As someone who still has the OG Anycubic wash & cure station, and who wants to upgrade that as well, is there one of those your recommend? I have lights going out and instead of replacing I think it may just be time to update my station.

I've been using an Epax 3d x1 Mono for the last 4 years and technology sure has improved a lot. Thanks for the video review, it helped me narrow down what I'd like to upgrade to. I was already leaning towards a larger printer from Elegoo and now you've gotten me interested in the Uniformation GkTwo. The amount of convenience features it has built in for the price (still not cheap) may be worth it at the "beginner" range.

start with your busget then, but the best one you can afford.
So if your budget is around £$300, have a look at the printers in that price range, then watch those individual reviews, should be a maximum of 2-3 printers in your budget range.
The Saturn 2 still seems like the sweet spot for most people.

That being said those that have limited space and have physical body moving and balancing limitations, I can really see the Uniformation GK2 resin printer a great choice even though the price may seem a little steep the fact that it offers so much convenience it would be a great choice.... just save a little harder make your own coffee at home see where else you can cut down on expenses.... what am I saying? I'm completely new to 3D printing and was first looking on the internet about what printer is best or better. Elegoo was coming out on most sites.
Then I went on UA-cam to look there for reviews and comparisons and liked your content the most. Watched almost all the printer videos the last 5 days and was waiting for this one when I saw yesterday that this video was coming out in the evening. I had decided to go for the Elegoo Saturn 3 Ultra instead of the Mars 3 Pro (bigger and better). But with this video I'm again thinking of changing and going for the Uniformation GKTwo. Only the price difference is holding me back. But my workspace is certainly in the winter cold (no heating), so the heater in the GKTwo is very interesting. (Don't just wanna print in the summer 😉) So if I can convince my wife, its probably going to be the GKTwo.

Had a cheaper resin printer before but sold it. Have my printers in a workshop outside my house, and it is too cold for resin printing during say okt-march. I sell Formlabs to pro customers, and I know firsthand how much those added features means in real day use. And a halloween $150 rebate for the kit made the decision easy. Even though you said it was a shorter "conversational" overview, it felt like you were REALLY comprehensive with giving reasons for everything in your ratings and I enjoyed how you compared cost to value rather than just defaulting to a more expensive option being superior or something like that.

I went with the Anycubic D2. Easy of getting solid prints for both my wife and I was the number 1 factor. DLP produces excellent results, reliably, and so sharp even with 8x aa and blur. I know DLP is definitely a different tech, but for us it was the one that made sense and we are very happy. Your videos helped us understand the why's. Thanks!

I’m saving for the Uniformation GKTwo… will prob purchase around Thanksgiving/Christmas looking for a good price, but I’ve made up my mind on the specific one. I would prefer easy entry and repairability and easy upgradability after battling with FDM printing for the past 5 years. I’ve tried everything that I can think of to print mini’s and I have a few positives but a LOT of negatives. I would like to print a lot of mini’s as I DM for two vastly different kinds of DND groups. I will still use and love my fdm printer, but I’m ready to love an easy to use out of the box resin printer too. Wishing you the best, how long do your links stay good? Most everything I'd print would be under 5", normally a lot smaller... If I were to get a smaller printer for miniatures, would I go through less resin waste? Also, I'm a beginner with 3-D printing, recommending one that would have very good guides/customer service would be helpful too.

It's a relief that Elegoo is so far out in front this generation. The one vitally important aspect of these printers that nobody takes into account until they've already made their purchase is customer service, and that's where elegoo takes the cake and runs off with it. I've had Elegoo replace parts that were out of warranty just because the failure was clearly not user error. I've also had them send me out multiple parts at once because they were unsure which part had broken, with no expectation of me sending the extra part back. I've heard horror stories about trying to resolve shipping issues with printers bought directly from Phrozen.

This a thousand times. I'm in the UK and made the mistake of ordering a Phrozen Sonic Mini 8k from a retailer in Holland thinking I'd saved myself a hundred-odd quid due to currency conversions etc.; took almost 3 weeks for it to arrive despite estimated (and paid for) express 2 day shipping, and was dead on arrival. Figured I'd just reach out to Phrozen customer support as it was a brand new machine, and hopefully they could just send me out a new LED module and all would be well - went through almost a week of back & forth with the customer service rep due to timezones, which was fine, only for it to turn out that they couldn't help me and I'd have to reach out to the retailer to get the replacement part. Did that, only to have the replacement LED module die on me a week later once I'd installed it through no fault of my own... I highly rate the quality of the prints from the Sonic Mini 8k but that experience was enough to put me off Phrozen unless I can get it from a well known retailer in the UK who provides warranty & free shipping.
Elegoo, however, was an entirely different experience. I ordered a Saturn 12k Ultra on pre-order back in June/July this year and not only was shipping free and there was no customs, but I've had absolutely zero issues with the machine from the day it arrived, and I'm continually impressed by their shipping speeds & communication when buying either other printers (Neptune 3 Pro) or resin/filament directly from them - there's been times where it's actually arrived faster than orders placed on Amazon.
I imagine when you get a machine that actually works, they're all much of a muchness at that price point & resolution, but Elegoo absolutely smashes it out of the park with their customer support and to be honest I think that's probably enough to have secured me as a long term customer. I've used AnyCubic & Phrozen machines from just about every generation in the past as well and never had anything near the level of satisfaction I've had from the Saturn 12 Ultra

    • @BabyJesus66

100% confirm your experience... Elegoo is AWESOME when it comes to customer service. They responded to my emails quick and got me the parts I needed for very CHEAP on a few year old printers... got my printers working in no time. As long as they don't change, I'll be buying all my 3D printers from Elegoo. Awesome printers, awesome prices, great service... their stuff just works well and is priced extremely good for what you get.
*edit - I should also add my Mars printers (very first Mars model) still work perfectly prob 4 years after buying them. I have zero complaints other than I want to upgrade but no real point when these damn things won't break lol. 😂

Ended up going with the Elegoo Saturn 3 Ultra, have absolutely no regrets so far. Thought I wasn't going to need the additional build space, but didn't even make it a month before I was using the max Z height at 260mm. But the easiness of use with the features included was what sold me. My printers are in a spare room that also has a window open for ventilation so heating is an issue and the resin fumes have been quite and issue for me too. Greetings Ross. I believe I have missed this information in the video (which is magnificent like all the rest of yours), but I was wondering, whether the GKTwo can print faster (while maintaining a high level of quality) than Saturn 3 Ultra? I remember you mentioned that speed and quality directly depend on the resin you use, but if we use the same type of resin (water washable Wargamer, which you use, or other water washable resin) and the weather conditions are the same for both printers, which one of these two would have higher output speed in printing of miniatures (also, let's imagine that miniatures in questions are the same for both)? Thank you in advance for your kind reply.🙂

I am looking to buy a Resin printer for specific projects. I want to print sphere lithophanes and the size has to be around 150mm. Can you suggest anything budget friendly for this print volume. Thank you and congrats on the well organized video!

Awesome review as always! Are you considering doing this kind of guide for filament printers, too, by any chance? :D

It’s on the cards, but I haven’t tested enough of them.

Decided to start my journey with the phrozen mini 8ks following your advices (and links) a few months ago. I strongly hesitated with the gktwo but, not knowing if I would like the hobby I went for the cheap one. No regret at all, I love the results with the 8ks, but knowing all I know now then, I would have gone for the gktwo. I'll see what will be the best when mine dies

Yeah the 8k is still solid

starting with a mars 3, I upgraded to a saturn 2 8K because, as you mentioned in the video, of the buildplate size. And yes, your video helped me make that decision

Thanks for sharing! I hope this helps the new buyers out there. Me, I am an Elegoo guy and have tried other brands, a few, and still love the Elegoo brand. Your milage may vary though.....

I went with the Saturn 3 Ultra from your affiliated link. I went with it because for me it was the best price to quality ratio for large prints. I have a temperate workshop in the house which is vented outside so temperature was not a concern. So the price hike for the GKTWO did not seem worth it. Basically for that money I was able to buy 12kg of resin, the wash and cure kit spare sheets and all that. Made more sense to me.

That's totally fair, especially when you already have the facility available to handle temperature and extraction/

Hi ! Thanks a lot for this video ! would you say that, in terms of costs, having a more convenient and reliable printer like the uniformation GKTWO would actually save you money from all the prints that may fail during winter days or because of a poor installation (i mean by it, not much control over the ambient temperature around the machine) or even during all the dabbling that would be necessary with other printers ?
For the context, I am really new into 3D printing but I want to be pretty serious about it, so as a beginner like me, is it best value to invest directly in this kind of upper convenience printer or would you advise to dabble first with Elegoo ones like the saturn 3 + any system that would keep my resin at a stable temperature (like brewing belt or anything else) and maybe have to invest more in the future.
What about replacing pieces for that machine ? Are they very pricy ? easy to replace or even find ?
And lastly are their customer service responsive with customer's questions or problems ?

I got an Elegoo Mars 4 Max. Build size was one of the things that made me hesitate about getting into resin to begin with. Great price and build size. And customer service exists.

Mate, really appreciate the hard work, dedication, and clarity you put into EVERY SINGLE video you produce. I hope your audience understands what goes into making videos like this. Unquestionably, the amount of work is off the charts. The research alone is a full-time job.
Well done and THANK YOU for helping me pick my next printer!
I've been using the Creality 3 (a NIGHTMARE) and a Mars 2 (a joy!) for a few years now and love what I've created with them. Your research has improved my understanding and my enjoyment of the hobby significantly.
Using your reference link for my early Xmas present, the Mars 3 Ultra!
