When I saw those minuscule eyelets for the cables I muttered a barely audible 'no way' under my breath. That level detail and skill required is extraordinary.
+theNoogler88 thank you - but building the eyelets is not that hard as it might seems. You may take a look at my "HowTo: Turnbuckles and Eyelets"-Clip...
I just love watching a Master at work. The videos are the icing on the cake Tom. Every time I see your work, I'm just flabbergasted! I'm 60 yrs. old. Been building models all my life and every video I watch of yours teaches me something new every time. Thank you Sir for all the hard work and for sharing your passion with us.
A joy to watch, two wonderfully executed art forms combining the making of a stunning model with the stop-motion animation telling the story. Lovely musical accompaniment, no words or commentary needed. Great idea to show the paints used at the various stages, too. So glad I subscribed, I get to see your work sooner :-) .
How can anyone not appreciate the craftsmanship and attention to such fine detail? Outstanding Tom, thankyou for these amazing and inspirational insights of your art.
How do you do this Tom? Not just the modelling (incredible), but the filming of the modelling (almost more incredible), and cut to the timing of the music... You must be professional in producing videos, or an unbelievably talented amateur. It's all so beautiful. Thanks. Tom (from France)
Fantastic and entertaining stop motion. The build is truly phenomenal ...the attention to detailing is near perfection. The turnbuckle details for the rigging is akin to micro-surgery....MUCH RESPECT!!!! Bill.
Tom, has Peter Jackson seen this! He aught to. Simply amazing! Not only is the model a museum piece but the video is an inspiration. Thank you for posting!!!
Thank you for your kind words... In fact I do not know if Peter has seen this until now. I sent a link to WNW and they post me a note that they like my video - thats all...
Too bad, it deserves more attention then that. I don't think WNW's need any help selling their kits but my goodness, what a special video you have created!
thank you ;-) BTW: I've seen your comment comes from a different location than youtube itself. Would you mind saying where you've seen my video? To be honest I am not very familiar with these youtube links and distribution purposes. I am still learning and relatively new on yt ;-)
WNW is amazing. I build their Rumpler C IV early last fall. IT was a lot of fun but complicated. I can't imagine building and doing quality filming at the same time. Excellent work sir.
+strawnobi thank you ;-) But it's not at the same time: it's a matter of building a part - taking a picture - building the next - taking a picture again - and so on... But you're right: WNW is amazing but very complex.
It must have taken ages to build, but it came out looking amazing! I don't think I'll ever work up the courage to try my hand at such a fine and detailed kit. Truly an inspiration!
Have started going through the rest of your videos. Your modeling and photography skills are without peer. Wherever he is, Ray Harryhausen surely is tipping his hat to you. GREAT work!
WOW!!!! Unbelievable, fantastic video. I have never seen a Stopmotion like yours in the model scene. I think, you are an artist in filming and modelling. Thank you from Germany for this little artist shortfilm.
That's an absolutely beautiful clip and your skills are amazing. When I was a kid I was given the most amazing model, it was a WWII Mustang. It may have been a Revell brand model, I am not sure. It had intricate linkages to support a fully retractable landing gear, including the small wheel at the back with two little door panels. You twisted a small knob for that. Tiny levers under the belly dropped wing bombs, and the cockpit glass canopy slid open and closed. I was too young to build such a complicated model so I asked my older brother to build it for me. It was a truly amazing model.
+110% beautiful! - it's sad one can't see all that went into what's been covered up in the fuselage and engine. (( 2/25/23 -..also ... the music by Chris Zabriskie is excellent too!
Pegasus did one, you can still find them. I have one on the workbench now. Doesn't go together as fast as Tom's build though. Or there's the excellent Gas Patch models in 48th
loved the new work and video! giving a visual reference to the colors you used was awesome, wish only if you would have done it with the oil wash and painting as well. one of your best work so far! 👍 thumb up

My 'no way' was far from inaudible!
Any surgeon would appreciate these neat tiny stitches.
The modelling is great but the photography is simply spellbinding. A real inspiration. Thanks
+Butlers Modelling thank you ;-)
The revelation of restoration is a passion shared by few but offered to all. Well done.
Thank-you
You're welcome 😊
We had an elderly gent in our town that flew those things. Another great build.
These builds are unreal...
How often you present a piece does not matter, I just enjoy your work
I'm pleased to hear 😊

Diese Art der Dokumentation eines Zusammenbaues ist einfach KLASSE ! Das kann ich mir immer wieder ansehen, toll !
Das freut mich zu hören, dankeschön.
I can't make up my mind which is the more astonishing: the modelmaking or the film making.

This video is what told me to subscribe, and i have no regrets.

Thanks for your kind words - yes, I'm a 3D designer who uses the little clips for some kind of experiments...
I'm speechless... just incredible!
+Motherbrain Jr I'm happy you like 😊
There is nothing I can say to express the joy I experienced watching this video. You made my day (wonderful). Thank you.

Our level of detail is amazing
Wonderfully made video. If the Orcars eventually add a category for UA-cam productions you will be my vote for accuracy and entertainment.
Thanks - would be great 😅
Great job on the wood-grain! I've never been able to get results that good.
Thank you... It's not that difficult - I may do some Tutorial for the kind of wood simulation I did.
If you've got time for it, that'd be great... I really like making the woodgrain.
Astonishing work! ... Fabulous!
Wow, what a pleasure toi watch! Thank you for making this!
