      Thanks for your feedback Theo. I usually do 3 episodes for an aircraft like this as the video would a) get way too long otherwise and b) I would be only able to upload every three months (which is the time it usually takes me to finish those builds). I always show the final state of each episode in the intro and in the thumbnail but it might not be clear if you're new to the channel. Hope you enjoyed it anyway and the next part is coming rather soon(ish) 😁

      @@TheAlleyman After I put my comment in this started to dawn on me. Hah! Silly me, always talking before my turn. In the video everything goes so easy, smooth and fast. But that's called editing. So, my welmeant apologies. Question though: how many hours went in this? You can choose prepping and building only, but if you want to you maybe can throw in research as well. Just red hot curious now.

    • @TheAlleyman
      @TheAlleyman  Рік тому +1

      @@theobolt250 no worries :) well it's not going all smooth and easy in reality, video doesn't show me failing to thread the rigging for countless times is just one example :) now in terms of time spent, I don't keep track but I would guess something around 20hrs net for building and painting. Research is a different animal though. Can't really say how long as it's a process I do over a couple of weeks/months prior to starting a project.

      I do hope you add "Du Doch Nicht!", if nothing else.

      Hi Gary, that's great to hear, thank you so much and I'm happy I could help with my tutorial. Tim, you've started another amazing build of a great kit. Based on what you did with that Nieuport a while ago, I know this is going to be absolutely fantastic. I also have the Goering Fokker DVII and when I eventually get around to building it, I'm going to go with a different livery.. I'm not a big fan of massive amounts of white paint!
    Your builds are so clean and precise and believe me the photography looks outstanding when I pull up UA-cam on the big flat screen in the family room. All the best and Happy New Year.

    Really hoping that someone picks up the tools to make these kits again.
    I’m not one of those people who considers WnW kits as mythical level quality - both kits I’ve built have had manufacturing defects and poor decals (very brittle and thick)
    That said, they were the only company making some very esoteric subjects in this scale, and some very detailed kits OOTB.
    Great video though, looking forward to parts II and beyond!

    It is very nice to see how many aftermarket parts you have brought to this project of yours. Do you have any plans to get some Spandaus from Gaspatch Models and/or maybe propellers from LF Models or Proper Plane to further improve this WnW kit? What I'm really looking forward to is how much the Aviattic Lozenge decal is going to further improve this Fokker since I am unfamiliar with Aviattic from before. Please keep up the good work.

    • @TheAlleyman
      @TheAlleyman  Рік тому +1

      Hi Paul, thanks for your kind words. I can already tell you that the aviattic decals are a massive improvement, in my opinion they are a must have on any build with lozenge. I like the Gaspatch guns (been using them on my Nieuport) but the WNW spandaus are really fine, so I will stick with them. And I don't have a proper plane propeller but I will try them in the future (most likely on a multi-propeller build where it would be too painful to paint them all)

      Thanks so much for your feedback. I'm not sure if I said it in the video but I let the oils dry over night before hitting th with clear paints. I also spread out the oils quite thinly and the thinner your oil layer is the less drying time it needs.

    • @TheAlleyman
      @TheAlleyman  Рік тому

      Thanks. So in cases where I use a lot of oils e.g. the wood grain, I let them sit for about 1-2 days. Then I seal them in with varnish. That's usually quite sturdy, I even spilled plastic cement on the floor panel and it didn't wear off any paint

    • @TheAlleyman
