As a Greatsword main, seeing such heavy hits causing flinches, knock downs, and tail cuts is deeply satsifying. That Rathalos tail cut was just *chef's kiss.
As a everything main, I'm just happy of not seeing LS everywhere
Surge slash has made me try GS and the Unga bunga numbers and the relatively minimal amount of hits it takes for cuts, breaks, flinches and kills amazes me
@@ramondelgado9836 Coming from an LS user, I agree. Those monster tails stand no chance, especially with our ability to apply blights this go around for longer stun times.
That aerial cutting tail made remember of those aerial charged slashes from MHGU..., the new geneneretion of GS is in good hands...

As a pea-brained SnS main, I will never not be in awe of hunters who can proactively set themselves up for _big, _*_meaty_* hits.
I have nothing but respect for the people that can just perfectly time all their great sword combos, I have yet to try the new counter for it but i hope i get too this week sometime looks useful.

Being a GS main and landing all those hard hits in the week zones of the monster and seeing broken parts and stunning is one of the most exciting parts of this weapon
Started MHW as a dual blades main as I wanted something easy to use. Then I saw a UA-cam video showing the GS in all its glory and I switched. Never going back , there is no weapon as satisfying as GS in the game. Epic gameplay bro 😎

god the strongarm stance is amazing to use. being able to nullify a fireball then counter the monster by smacking them back int he face
Started Rise as a GS main after trying it out in World. Now I'm 600 hours and over 1100 hunts in with GS. It truly is the weapon that can do it all. Break all the parts, flinch, stun, knock down, hyper armor, insane damage.
Ngl the GS mechanics that World and Rise have brought to the gameplay of the weapon have really suited it well with my idea of what a GS user would be like. Between the shoulder tackle and the SA stance they really paint the picture of GS users being veritable walking tanks capable of swinging those gigantic blades
This is the kind of greatsword player I want to become. Great gameplay

There is just that moment, when the monster just…. walks head-first into a Level 3 True Slash, and it sends them toppling backwards.
It only happens with monsters who flip backwards, and I’m not good enough to do it consistently…
But there are times where a man must wear a suit. To his wedding. To his funeral. And to that.

I've been trying to get the hang of this weapon. Its kinda rough as a swaxe and bow main but its so cool.

I've been a longsword player since freedom unite. It's the first time with Great Sword on sunbreak, then suddenly everything just went on FIRE.
I was longsword main too and I still am but I become a greatsword main in mhw and now I am master of 5th fleet with my longsword and greatsword with me.
Might have been perspective, but that first Valstrax is the biggest one I have ever seen.

Nice use of the Final Fantasy 7 battle theme - after all, its protagonist was half the reason we all suddenly loved massive swords that should normally be too heavy to wield.

Me use greatsword : 99% miss true charged slash and got carted 90% of the time.

they're using Rage Slash there instead of true charge. rage slash gives hyperarmor and boosts its damage if you get hit during the charging part, so they strongarmed the first hit, and then charged rage slash through the second

Capcom got tired of seeing greatsword mains unable to land their hits, and made its hitbox extent the way a plesioth's hips do, thus creating the ultimate weapons.
I could never get this thing to work for me in MHW. Felt like I spent the entire time awkwardly jogging after enemies while holding a giant slab of useless junk.
I still play mhp3RD in 2022 so sad
