As a lance main I think you did an incredible job at showcasing this weapon, when you used sheathing retreat into shield charge I just about died, the instablocks were perfect, and omfg anchor rage is so fucking satisfying to pull off well done
This video makes me want to try lance again. I was using lance in Iceborne during endgame but got bored in rise when I see some lance users spamming a wirebug move.

@@tgray700 Sunbreak Lance got significant buffs on all attacks and switch skills. You should definitely give it another chance! I personally have different switch skills on both scrolls and set my d-pad to switch scroll.

Not only was this video BEAUTIFUL but it also taught me that you can start a shield charge/dash attack mid air just by pressing R2. Very useful for stunning flying monsters out of the air, I shall use this tool well.

its one thing people dont realized in sunbreak because longsword is always in the spotlight but Lance is pretty OP in Sunbreak. people mocked and laughed at the Skyward Thrust in the trailer but they have no Idea of the Vertical power and Dunking potential it gives. thats the skill I've been wishing for since MHGU since silver rath's likes to hang out in the sky too long.

Lance move strategically, no wasted movements, perfectly timed blocks and dodges and balance of attack and defense, give and take.. it's not slow if your opponent is the one coming to you haha.. awesome

I've always had a hard time using Lance still the best Lance user ever was, is Mikarai! I'm just a Switch Axe User who changed into Dual Blades user as my main weapon 😊

Masters of lance…..fucking juggernauts for real bro. A weapon that’s easy to learn for anyone but hard to master and has the best defensive capabilities in the game with counters just as punishing as a long sword in my opinion 👌🏾

It's Insta-Block for sure. You can chain Insta-Block into almost any other move with Lance, including another Insta-Block. You can Insta-Block multiple times in a row if you have the timing right.
As a parry lance main snice GU, this is what I've been waiting for. Question though. Those Skyward dunks you did on monsters that were performing a diving attack eg. Raj and S Mag, are those guarateed dunks or were you just lucky to hit a flinch "x damage" threshold in the air? I would try things like that more often if it was "time it right and you'll punish every time" but I always assumed it's just a "if you dont reach the (say) 750th damage point to reach the flinch threshhold then you're just going to take a 3/4 of your health, f you"
Usually I practice for the timing to be able to do it multiple times until I get the dunk wanted :) A bit grindy and risky but worth it in the end ! There are some other tricks though : for example, when the monsters are in the wyvern-ridable during this state, they will never topple so if you do a lot of damage, they will stay at 1hp from toppling, thus the next hit is a guaranteed topple. Poison works similarly in some other cases too. But usually (not always) I prefer not using those tricks because I think it looks smoother when it is in the flow of the fight
When I picked up lance after playing through low rank with greatsword, I realized “oh now this is what I wanted to be” I thought I wanted the unstoppable force of the Greatsword, when really I needed to become an immovable object.

You can do as many instablock in a row if you time them perfectly, if you miss one, you will have recovery frames
