The name classification is extremely confusing. The name Enduro has traditionally been used for a motorcycle that is equally useful on the road as off-road. Why they chose to use the category of Enduro for a bicycle expect to be more useful off-road is beyond me. Very confusing and ridiculous in my opinion. But I think I finally understand after months of trying to figure out the categories. Downhill bike I'm assuming is for extreme downhill trails which is probably obvious. Enduro is more extreme trail riding and technical riding off-road A trail bike is one step less aggressive which I assume is for most people and their mountain bike needs. The next step up from there I'm confused on again. Would that be a gravel bike ? Gravel bikes look more like road bikes to me so I'm not really sure. Then commuters and road bikes are a little bit more obvious. Someone please correct me because believe it or not there is no website that I have found that really describes the classifications. Most manufacturer websites are a bit vague with their classifications or at least how they explain the different classifications if they bother to explain them at all. Most of them just assume that you know the different classifications. I called a trek dealer one time to try and get clarifications and they were completely useless as well. They merely said it depends on what use I want to use them for. Well news flash! I want to know what the bikes are best suited for and then I will decide which one will suit me best. This video is the best I have found to explain the difference between two classes of bikes and it is greatly appreciated. However I wish there was more videos like this to go into great detail of the common classifications nowadays. Any reasonable person would rather know the classifications and capabilities of bicycles first and then ask a professional more details to decide what would be best shoot them.
@@SamsBikes you did an outstanding job describing the differences between a trail bike and a Enduro. More videos like this would be awesome ! I don't know if it's your expertise or not but I'm also curious why no one is developing a aftermarket breaking regen product ? It would be a simple as developing a front-wheel or a front rotor that the consumer can buy aftermarket and install on any bike. I know it's not energy-efficient for some Terrain. But those of us that live in areas where road bikes often go for miles down steep hills, I would think there would be a market for it.
I bought a stance e+3 2023 on sale for £2700 an couldve got the reign for £400 more...now im selling my stance to get the reign. @@SamsBikesMaybe I didn't see that? Just when you show the bikes their seat post is up so high, well, I didn't know they went up to such heights. I picture you riding along with your seat post in the clouds, hitting the front brake, and going superman over the front bars. Come on man, those aren't road bikes: they are E-bikes right? Thanks for the video. I'm thinking about these two as my first e-mountain bike. During my research I have seen several forum comments about '22 Reign frames cracking. Do you know anything about this? Thanks.
Mate I haven’t heard that but I’ll have a look into it.
Awesome comparison….👍
Thanks mate!
Hi what is the app you are using
Great video
Thanks mate
Nice bikes man 👍 these are the ones Carlos is and you are riding? Blue one looks sexy man. Enjoy pie night
Thanks mate yes this is the one Carlos is riding! Nice day!
great ... after ~50 hours of just looking for the best bang for the buck, I was already set on the Reign E+3 (hard budget limit 4800€ as i then can write off 35% ).... but seems a trailbike would be a better fit..
back to start
What did you end up going with? I’m in the same dilemma
Is the current gen Levo considered a trail or enduro bike?
Hey mate the Levo is what I like to call a TrailDuro which is 150mm oh rear travel and slack headtube angle of 63,5 or 64,5 or 65,5. It can feel like an enduro or trail
@@SamsBikes So you could say the Levo is a good "all-rounder"?
Great advice!
Tnx, Very useful clip👍👍👍
Glad you liked it!
@@SamsBikes Hello.
Do you have any expirience with ktm e bikes (prowler, kapoho...)?
It look's interesting bike with good equipment (especialy higher model) but on internet is not many real test this bike.
Any opinion recomended...👍
Excellent. Mucho helpful.
A very good question
Thanks mate!
@@SamsBikes This was definitely a really insightful review and as I said in my comment a really great question. Funnily enough I was just thinking about it today (better than reviewing contracts!!!), anyway I was a little surprised, but completely in agreement with your conclusion. Me and my mates ride Turbo Levos and I have tweaked mine to 160 up front and it is perfect... we often discuss, do you need something capable of jumping off the edge of the world when we live and ride in the English Lake District. Anyway if you're ever up this way I'll show you the trails... Keep up the great work.
Nice info. Tks
Thanks mate
nice comparo but Trance is carbon and Reign is Alu - if you rode alu Trance the times would be closer. great riding, and great RV
Thanks bro, I’m not sure the aluminum frame would make that much of a difference you might be right but!
@@SamsBikes you are the expert mate, both bikes are killers. You have the best job and fun! I ride standard 2021 29 Reign alu w upgraded suspension and when i rode my mates carbon Trance, it was super light almost scary going downhill, easy to pedal. By saying that i take ur expert word and an experience for it. Also can’t wait for ur review of Sydney bike brand VMG ebike. Looks sick on paper.
I believe the reign frames are cracking near the bottom of the downtube....
Really? Where you heard this ?
@@SamsBikes emtb forum mate. Big thread about it
thank you
Dude. Same title mistake in how to write Giant at 05:47
The name classification is extremely confusing.
Enduro is more extreme trail riding and technical riding off-road
A trail bike is one step less aggressive which I assume is for most people and their mountain bike needs.
Wow Steve thanks for the essay haha 😂 what else do you want to know? I’m always looking for good video ideas
Thanks mate that’s a good idea 👍 I haven’t seen anything on the market
I bought a stance e+3 2023 on sale for £2700 an couldve got the reign for £400 more...now im selling my stance to get the reign. Trail bikes for me are great but i want something with more agility and pop. My bike skills are fairly decent and i dont like xc style rides i want to be flying through black trails like a mad twat.
I prefer a non electric bicycle for rocks, and mountains.
Endooro?
Might consider getting the bike manufacturer name correct in your editing :( GAINT
Might consider having some sympathy it’s clearly a mistake but did you like the video?
Who rides downhill with their seat post in full leg extension position?
He's obvious never gotten a seat in the ribs after taking a hard drop.
What are you talking about mate? I always ride with my seat down
@@SamsBikesMaybe I didn't see that? Just when you show the bikes their seat post is up so high, well, I didn't know they went up to such heights.
I picture you riding along with your seat post in the clouds, hitting the front brake, and going superman over the front bars.
Come on man, those aren't road bikes: they are E-bikes right? Does one need full leg extension on an E-bike?
Giant instead of Gaint.
nice electric dirt bikes bruh
Same 6:20 :)
I have the giant rein e+0 it has been a nightmare. The freehub broke and destroyed the entier hub. Dropper workin like shit. Brakes unblead. And worst of all the bike turns off random and wipes the setings i have to take the battery out and in to turn it on again. It lastet 2 months and 250km😡 it has been in the shop for 3 weeks🤬 thinking about quitin this sport. Do not recoment this bike even for my enemys
"Gaint" Trail bike, huh? xD
Gaint? Come on guys.
Yep 👍 great value ebikes
@@SamsBikes hi Sam, great video. I think Rob means the spelling of "Gaint" was in the video a bit, should be Giant.
And so on…. 😂
these bikes are so ugly. but i prefer the enduro bikes. my specialized kenevo turbo or the propain ekano as a mullet in large!!! climbing and trail Performance.
they both have too many wheels
Almost the same. Negligible differences.
🤙🏾🫵🔝
Wont recommend Giant ebikes. Mine only lasted 1k miles. 3 months on, still in the shop no parts available yet. 🤦♂️👎
The motor makes it so youd always choose more travel. Plus ebikes need more travel
