lets go riders... these are my top 10 which EMTB's have I left off?
What do you recommend for flat xc trail racing? We have a Florida emtb series. We typically race the same courses as the emtb course in 100/100 bikes with no dropper and no issues.
It’s been hard to find a full power emtb with least amount of travel since since 120/120 would be enough for our flat courses
Cannondale Moterra LT and Unno Mith! Cheers!
Nicolai Eboxx 2022 should be on the list for sure. With Bosch smart 750wh and 160/160 to 180/180mm travel adjustable. Expensive tho.
Focus Sam2, 2018 - 2020 - 27,5 wheels, small 368 battery + 368 Wh external, 21kg with the internal battery which is sufficient for a afterwork ride.
Light, agile, strong.
All the current E Enduros have 25kg+, quite heavy.
Unlock Shimano to the US firmware, 32 km/h till limiter, cool stuff.
@@Budschidau Kellys Theos F90, 29-27.5, 720wh battery, 180front, 170rear 22.4 kg
Great review mate. I've just bought a Mondraker Dusk RR. My first E-bike.
Hello Sam, always appreciate your videos. Here in the sandbox of Dubai. Not much MTB'n here. Enjoy your holiday in Adelaide and look forward to your next video. Blue skies, John
I have a YT Decoy uncaged 9 I got in the summer and I really like it plus being direct from manufacturer you get more for your money
Been a sub since around the time you had 5-6k subs. Awesome to see your channel grow and content improve!!
Thanks mate I really appreciate the kind words!
I’m actually amazed you didn’t mention Fantic
Specifically the 2.0 XXF factory. I haven’t ridden one but the reviews seem pretty mint also the new Husqy nduro??😎🤙🇦🇺
I'm an old school MTB rider since 1983 and I've being shopping for my first mid-assist eMTB and I've decided to go with Trek EXe
Love my Norco Range VLT, long, slack, stable 180/170. It’s a super bike
Love my YT Decoy Elite more than ever with the release of the 720 WH battery. I do wish it had the Bosch motor.
Giant Reign I think the main reason for new mtbers value for money perfect design top shelf components been on Reign mtbs since 2006🇦🇺
For me it has the be the Orange Phase Mx my first E-bike a total pleasure to ride 170mm up front 165mm at the rear it takes on hills like a mountain goat
I live in the Pacific Northwest USA and am just starting to look for an e-bike (turned 50 this year and gave myself permission to get one 😂). I appreciate your list, it’s a good starting point. Cheers!
Hey legend thanks for the kind words if you need any help on your first ebike just sing out !
Shame you and many other reviewers ignore the Whyte E180 range as it’s hands down one of the worlds best all round E Enduro bikes and especially now it’s just been released with the Bosch 750w setup 😎
Would love to see a decent review on the cannondale moterra neo LT 2.
Can’t find much on UA-cam in English
I’m due to replace my 2019 Decoy pro race so this is very helpful
Or just spend $1K and get the 720 wH battery. The Decoy is a fantastic bike
You gained a loot of weight... 😘😘 Thanks for the updates great choice.
Voima Mullet is the way to go.
BB drops from a very high 375mm to a normal 356mm (normal for a 190mm bike). It slackens the HT to 62 but add a +1 deg angle adjust headset to get the HT back to 63.0. Still super stable and capable in the chunk but turning in feels great and more playful. In fact it feels like a YT Decoy (my old bike) on steroids.
Or, you could also run it full 27.5 with a 40 on it for full beast mode. 🤘🏻😎
I am curious if this voids the warrantee. I'm doing it anyway. Probably go with 180 up front so I can use a Smashpot - would be curious if anybody knows of a coil fork conversion that goes up to 190?
@@keehotee1357 it does not void the warranty. I asked Pole about running full 27.5 or mullet and a 40 before I bought mine. They said yes I could and it’s been awesome!
@@keehotee1357 I love me a coil Fork on my Bikes and saddened you can’t get one in 190mm. That said, the Zeb is a very good fork and a dual crown fork is a very interesting option!!
Good idea Mike I really need to try this bike!
I am interested in the Haibike Nduro7, but even though it came out last year, there are no actual reviews at all for this thing and I get the sense Haibike have a supply/distribution issue. Does ANYONE have any info on this bike?
What about the Lapierre am. Don’t why they seem to be missing off so many list considering they do so well in ews and ewse
Well made and works well.
The Orbea is my number one pick for my next bike, but my dealer says no delivery before June-July 2023. So I am also looking that Moterra LT and the Voima as well!
Wow 6 months lead times that sucks
@@SamsBikes Yep, that sucks
I'm picking up my new Wild in 2 weeks 🎉
Kellys is the bike. I have been contacting them for over a year now but they cannot sell to the USA. I would buy an F90 right now. Any ideas on how to get one here?
nice list
Cube Stereo Hybrid 160 Action Team, great value!!
Sam what about the canyon strive on??
I might change one or two bikes but those are great bikes.
👆🏽👆🏽 Thanks I 🤝 APPRECIATE ♥️

Would love you to test the Husky Hardcross HC1
Suntour suspension is fantastic 4 the price.
4900 us$ OTD
Seems like there is a new favorite every month.
Orbea wild has a lot of movement on the rear triangle, doesn’t look as it can support the 23/4 kg and battery isn’t removable
Power play is the best in my opinion. Best responding motor hands down. Massive power!
Yep true that it’s a beast in power
How about the Italian Fantic XEF 1.9 ?
I am riding a giant e reign +1 2022 its my best
I own a Santa Cruz Bullit X01 and the Scott Ransom Eride 910. Both amazing bikes.
Bullit is more nimble?
I have actually been looking at both bikes. I am leaning toward the scott, a lot less expensive. What do you like or dislike about each bike?
@@ENDUROIBIZA Yes, the Bullit is much more nimble. I raced the Panamerican enduro in Dominican Republic this last November on the Bullit and won 3rd for the season, and 3rd on race day. But the Bosch motor on the Ransom is more powerful and energy efficient. So depending on the type of race I would use one bike or the other.
@@wakeboatdad Go with the Ranson 910 E-Ride, its about half the price as the Santa Cruz I have that cost me almost USD$14,000, and its an amazing bike. On the Scott you will also get longer rides and its a beast on Down Hills and a great climber because of the longer Chain stays and strong motor. You can also unblock the Bosch motor very easily with the very reliable Volspeed V4 chip ($150 on amazon). All my friends with Ransoms are unlocked including me and no one has had any issues.

What is the black bike at 2;27?
My favorite 2023 enduro eMTB is the 2022 Orbea FS Wild 😂
Agreed! They're light weight compared to others in the same category, Bosch battery (non-negotiable), Fox suspension, good geometry (at least for me) and a reasonable price tag ... Plus IMO they're the nicest looking and there's a ton of builds/colors to choose from. If I'm dropping $8,000 on an ebike, that's a no brainer and for me it's not really even close!
VOIMA…. FINALLY 😊
Absolutely Love this Bike !!!!!!!
I need to ride this bike!
@@SamsBikes
YES you do Sam… I just can’t say enough about this bike. I actually keep this bike in my living room and just study it 🤔
I know how crazy that is but this particular bike is just Freaking Awesome Work Art. Truly a MASTERPIECE.
I also have the Trance and love this bike as well but this POLE VOIMA is just different breed of ANIMAL 😜
For sure Sam put at the top of your list, I really want to hear your thoughts 💭 on this bike
Thanks Sam and Merry Christmas to you and your family
Blessings 🙏
@@apatriotofhopedanjohn4781 😂 Funny you keep yours in the living room because I do too! I’m actually looking at it right now, but I also bring mine into my bedroom! My wife is very understanding. 🤣 It is a work of art and it rides even better than it looks!
@@onetime242
Well Great 👍 now I know now I have another crazy buddy
Anyone had a Levo and can give me a comparison. I am considering swapping.
Sam you should do a cascade long travel link, shock and 170mm fork review on the new Levo!
Would love to see how that stacks up in the enduro category.
I’m super interested in doing it to my S-works levo but don’t really see any solid reviews on that setup. Cheers!
Just picked up my Levo alloy comp on Black Friday. Had budgeted in for a full price so I picked up Fox Factory e38 fork at 170 and a stock size Factory x2 replacement on Black Friday. Throw in a front fender for my fork and a tailgate protector, (thanks FOX!) and still stayed under my out the door cost of a retail alloy comp! Had I been planning such an early purchase I would have prepped more and searched for a longer travel link! I thought I had seen on a certain link site that it would only work for carbon frames?… My unused stock fork goes to my first gen Levo and I have a buddy with a second gen base Levo that may switch rear shocks out to give him another cm of travel in rear. I haven’t seen any videos touting a 170 front swap and only heard about potential negs. (It changes factory geometry) Well… so does the flip chip and the headset adjustment?!!!
I will comment on videos acknowledging a 170 fork swap in the coming months after I get some time, miles and vertical on it.
@@ypofarmstead1189Cascade Components has a new long travel link that works on the aluminum and carbon
@@ypofarmstead1189I changed to a 170 fork on my 3rd gen Levo comp; much better ride. I also changed the rear shock to an X2 (same length) and just received Cascade Components 160 travel but I haven’t put that link on yet.
keep us updated about the Cascade Component linkage conversion. I had only seen the “long travel” version for carbon frame and a larger than stock shock. Found the product that you just got that will use stock size shock. If a positive, will look to do it!
as a german i love how you say schwalbe. i always giggle a bit
Haha thanks it’s actually how every Aussie and British rider pronounces Schwalbe I know it’s not right but it’s the best I can do haha
Lists are appreciated. Things that often don't get mentioned that I'd want to know is BB and range extender. Never been more difficult to buy a bike.
Looking for not Shimano, 750wh, range extender, high BB, 27" or mullet, removable battery and the new kind of remotes that are small and integrated. Shimano has the least range and power so shame how many good bikes have that motor.
Orbea Rise is pretty incredible weight wise but that integrated battery is a big one to swallow. Just makes life easier to store the bike in a car.
I just got my Voima yesterday, and it ticks all those boxes with the highest BB available (0 mm drop). I will be converting mine to a mullet set up for sure.
@@keehotee1357 What is your height and what size did you go with?
Exactly what I am looking for on my next bike, especially that high BB that few brands have on their size charts. I am between three bikes with high BB, the Orbea, the Cannondale Moterra LT and the Voima. I also like the Pivot but the Shivaji puts me off.
@@ioannisparaskevopoulos1120 5'7" or around 170 cm and I went with the K1. 450 reach is my sweet spot but the top tube length is way shorter on Voima so the cockpit might be a little cramped we'll see. Haven't put it together yet.
Sam, have you tested new updated Shimano EP801? If you have, is it better than the original EP8?
Hey mate from my understanding the EP801 has the same feeling and range as the older one I think but I haven’t tested it.
Kindly ride the Commy SX Mullet please.... 👍
Nicolai Eboxx 2022 should be on the list for sure. With Bosch smart 750wh and 160/160 to 180/180mm travel adjustable. Expensive tho.
Yep good call! The Nicolai is a sweet looking ebike
The Voima is hands down, the best by far. It’s in a league of its own, case closed.
Nothing climbs like a Voima. Best ride best machining and best value. It's a winner.
Me for Voima!
What do you think of the vioma for a more intermediate rider ? I was looking at the Sc Bullit, Pivot Shuttle Lt and transition relay ? A friend of mine has a voima but he’s an advanced rider. I ride a SC Hightower now.
@@patrickmckernan7122 I don't think skill level matters. The Voima makes everything easier. A mediocre rider will go faster, further and ride more easily on a Voima. The bike literally does a lot of the work for you. You need to try one to experience it!
@@philseton5796 thanks Phil !
👍👍👍
Just got my scott eride 940 aspect for like 2000$ similer i Think coast like 3500-5000$
No santa cruz bullit? The things probably the best on the market
needs a bigger battery i think
how about the cube ebike
Wow, no Canyon? I guess I need to rethink my choice.
No Transition Repeater???
In my opinion the Forestal Siryon should definitely be on this list...it is an awesome bike.
Yes but it’s not a full power ebike check in a few weeks for the superlight
Would love to buy a Pole but I absolutely hate the name. Something about riding a pole just doesn't sit right with me.
Lapierre Overvolt AM 75th Anniversary Edition is the trail-enduro for me this year 170/160
I like the voima but for 2023 I’ve my eyes on the mondraker level XR running 180/170
Yes Phil the Level does looks sweet!
We purchased this Vivi 27.5” electric bike and a Tentaquil 26” electric bike for our 13 and 14 year olds. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxUiL0GnyDjP32RJdd660sP8mZk4CRLTCJ The Vivi was much easier to put together. With the Vivi, there was a video link to assist with assembly which made the process easier to follow (we did put the handlebars on upside down, but it was a quick and easy fix). With the Tentaquil, the assembly was not as simple to follow, but after we messaged the company for an assembly video, it was easier and they did respond quickly. The other major differences were that the Vivi has a grip throttle on the right handle (like a motorcycle) and the Tentaquil has a push throttle that you use your thumb to activate. The monitors were also different, so if you’re looking for something specific in terms of changing the bikes functions, pay attention to what the monitor offers. We were really impressed with the overall quality and functionality of both bikes, but if you’re looking for more power and an easier assembly, definitely go with the Vivi!
Why isn’t anyone talking about any Bafang G510/M620 powered e-bikes? 160 nm torque twice what anything on this list.
Ducati TK-01RR is pretty good after an upgrade or two Sam.
Yep not a bad beast

Great bike in 2019 but tue market has moved on!
We got two of these for our daughters ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxHL1v1R3NE5x4KiYfyt8dnQmyNYz7qi5L the same size for age 6 and 9. It works very well for both girls. Gears were very easy for them to learn. Changing gears up takes some hand strength and is a bit hard, but they are learning. They did not come with water bottle holders- we actually got confused and thought the Derailler Guard was the bottle holder!! Regardless of these details, the bikes are fantastic- even our six year old who only just learned to ride bikes caught on within an hour of practice and loves it. Lightweight and easy for them to handle. All the parts are in excellent condition and the bikes are easy to assemble and very well packaged. Great choice for kids!
