Loved all the explanations of medical issues, very informative. Kory is excellent with his training sessions, his calm way of being with the horses is great and he really knows his stuff. The team work so well to together.

Yes, there are wonderful Natural Horsemanship Legends....Pat Parelli, Craig Cameron and younger rising stars such as Sam VanFleet that give clinics in the U.S....I love the idea of trainers going to clinics to further their training skills. They do great now, then it is an ongoing learning process. I'd donate to a go fund me for training trainers. Karen Gallant

Excellent episode. Really appreciate all of the explanations from the farriers. They sure got a work-out today! Dr Decker is filling in for Doc very nicely. She's warming up to the camera which is terrific. Cory & Jenna worked so well together & separately w/ the rest of the team. Continue to be so impressed w/ Cory's training skills. He's a terrific horseman. I'm watching the new trainer. Didn't like a couple of little things I caught today. Hope they were just exceptions & not normal technique for her. Really a grand effort from the whole team!

That’s a great idea to have a tour so many times of year that’s manageable. Maybe a small fee for a , say, bagged lunch or pizza . This could be a great fundraiser opportunity. Not that it would be pushy, but just put out there with a HPH pin and a card with Amazon link , Facebook page, UA-cam page. Maybe even be able to pet a donkey or horse. I’d come with my family. Cool!
The vet part is the best part for me to watch, seeing them progress is so good to see.
I love these guys the whole circle of life! Only wish they’d get a little better with some of the little things like get the dried mud groomed off them before tacking….
I noticed that and hoped that a spot of grooming had taken place under the saddle.
I think they are stretched for time, and maybe it’s a man thing, when I was involved with riding clubs the ladies always presented their horses better than the men did. Maybe they think a bit longer in the training regime is more important than removing a bit of mud
Really appreciated the explanations of the hoof problems. The founder explanation in particular. Anaerobes. Fungi. Maybe spirochetes in some infections? (digital dermatitis involves spirochaetes I’m told so assume they also infect horse hoof). So interesting.
The Belgian boy with cancker face markings looks like a Belgian mare I used to drive in college - she also had a curly perm for her mane
This video really brought back memories of the horses that I raised about 20 years ago. Awesome! Just loved the education. Kory is a wonderful addition to Horses Plus. What has happened to the older gentleman who was a big part of Seasons 1 and 2? He drove a Jeep Cherokee. I truly loved watching him work on the horses. He was quite witty.

Great episode as usual, we have a 19yo horse who had quite bad rotation and our farrier suggested putting him on Asprin, which we did with night and morning feeds of Oates charm and salt, to keep his water intake up, he came good, he can now go out all day on grass with the other horses, comes in at night. It's working great for him, maybe your vet can look into that that as an option for some of these foundered horses, Blessing 🙏🏻❤️
Tip: when putting wire around the fence/t-post put the wire thru the hole of an Eyehook the use an electric drill to hold the eyehook spin that wire tight. Works fast, use less wire and less muscle 😊. Just a suggestion if interested. Love all you do❤️❤️
I have a equine rescue I feed a cup of ground flax seed to my horse's had a horse came in with ring bone. The lady was treating her with shots and she couldn't even walk when I picked her up. Within a month feeding her the ground flax seed were riding her no more shots. We stopped the shots the day she came to us. We had her for 10 more years.
I look forward to this channel every week, such a great group of talented caring people. Btw, anytime you can film more Cory, the better.
Thanks for another great video!!! I commend you all on the work you do for these fabulous animals! I think I was born loving horses, and I am quickly falling in love with donkeys and mules. Is it OK for me to ask why Kimberly always wears a bandana around her head? I have never seen her without one. Please keep on being an advocate for these animals! They need you so much!!!

Just a question, has anyone thought of putting notches at the top of those hoof cracks to keep them from getting worse? We used to do that with our horses when they would get hoof cracks. Our farrier was always pleased when we did that.
Very interesting segment. I haven’t owned a horse for over 40 years, but they are in my blood. I’m 83 years old, from New Zealand. Procedures have made huge improvements since I was actively involved, but my horses were always well cared for and a vet visit was a rarity, except Maybe for the castration of a youngster.
Keep up the good work, team, you’re doing a wonderful job, keeping these beautiful animals out of the slaughter pipeline.
Fortunately we don’t have such a dreadful practice in NZ, but sometimes it’s inevitable that an animal needs to be euthanised. They mainly go to the zoo, or the hounds, as long as they are not full of medication.
Flax seed will help with joint problems and hoof problems such as white line founder.

I understand white line too well. My mare in my profile pic actually got it and my farrier ended up clipping a quarter of her hoof wall off and put apoxie on her hoof to seal it.

Might consider going back 2 seasons to see the inside of the auction there. Only once did they allow inside. Kinda eye opener.
Wondering if HPHS ever thought about getting the heat lights so you can give bathes to horse in not so great weather I understand about the mud or even put those pea stones down so they dont get so muddy

How hard is it to run a brush over a horse before it's saddled? It not only helps with bonding, it helps build trust, it removes dirt and grime, it helps with circulation, it removes dead winter hair, and they LOVE it too!!

Watch Horse Shelter Heroes S3E5. They go into detail about what happened. I'm so disappointed in Jessie, Sarah & Mady. I was really fond of them, and to find out how they betrayed the core values of HPHS is so heartbreaking.

Winning $20-30,000 will barely pay for their training and boarding costs for one year. That's why they call it a rich man's game. Spend a lot of money for not a lot of gain. Once in a while, you MIGHT hit big.
The joke is. How do you make a million in horse racing? Spend 3 million.

I wish yawl had the funds or volunteer to be a groom. It would be nice if the horses could be washed and brushed and groomed before they start training or have their adoption appointment or just be brought to the farrier. I know it’s icing on the cake but I hate to see a horse saddled or round penned or put up with crusty mud on their face and belly or knots in the mane n tail. Not complaining! Just a wish for these horses😊😊😊
the sad new is - some days I think they come to it and the weather being rotten
here as well - it is very hard to get it perfect - and they are full in the sense of feeding and then it all coming together there the works and farriers is nothing wrong with mud being there - they prefer sunny days to do it right - they are not
miss treated - they are fed on time and the vets stuff is done on time daily -

@@helenabiesma5560 , I know mud….lord I know mud. I’m just saying I wish there was funding or volunteers that could help with grooming. Weather causes dirt, wet, mud, and all that. I know. Been there done that. I just wish they had more help keeping the horses clean and comfortable . Every animal feels better when it’s groomed. Like I said …I’m not complaining. I love this place.
@@Freespiritarts but again you are complaining of something is in significant at today's work schedule - we groomed horses when they where riding or a daily groom but some of the coats are wet -not easy to groom -that needs to dry out - in rain???? In addition they have winter coats at the moment again should not be touched again it is better to brush off when dry?? in addition some of these animals have not been handled correctly -
then full groom???

Doc is recovering from treatments for a detached retina. He's made short appearances in a few videos on FB to talk about it. He's on the mend and will be back though.

Re:- flag work and desensitisation....
Horses "conquer" objects by placing a foot on it!
The desensitisation process can be accelerated by teaching the horse to:- follow, and then step on a moving object.
We used Clicker training to initiate the games, and the objects would vary, depending on the particular horse's fears.
Examples:-
Ropes
Plastic
Paper
Saddles - yes, we even had a beaten up saddle for this purpose.
I trained my riding horse to chase after plastic bags blowing in the wind and STAMP on it, so I could get off, roll it up and dispose of it properly.
I have difficulty hearing the vet assistant. it seems very muffled and she talks very fast.
3:45 she's a bit slow on the release, and also a bit pushy/flooding in her training, if you follow Warrick Schiller, you will know how to do this correctly, so you get faster and better results from your training.
I wouldn't be very impressed with her, and I would probably not let her work with my horse.
Just saying that she needs more training/education, to become more in tune with what she's actually doing.
I’m currently showing my training staff Buck Brannaman tapes, I have Warwick Schiller up next to help further educate. The thing about working with horses is that you can work a lifetime with them and still have things to work on. Some things come natural and other things take a bit of coaching. I believe constructive criticism and slight adjustments make the best impact whether it’s working with horses or coaching people
Meh, she is working for peanuts with animals that... you are not going to hire much more of a trainer.
