    So nice to slowly introduce them. I hate seeing lonely horses, but this is beautiful!

      Me too. He really had close to Zero social skills. Not sure how his past looks but his previous owner had him in many different stables for dressage training. One of those stables apparently (someone else told me who knew him there) had curtains around his stable because he “was not able to deal with seeing other horses”. I have not seen this myself so I don’t know if this is true, but he does some stereotype behaviour like weaving and such. I would not be suprised. He was very intense with others when I met him and he was like that here to for over 2 years. Very sad :(

    Two beautiful oldies! You can see how much power Q still has. And even though Sammie is getting a bit frail in his old age, he still has such a captivating elegance. And I love his priorities: new paddock? let's go eat! ;)

    It’s wonderful to see the love and care you give to your horses❣️ It appears these two are going to be very good for each other. Your Dad & Mom did a great job with the fence. You have a great family and life! 🌺❤️🌺

    That was so special to watch, that you are taking into consideration the horses emotional and physical needs at all stages of all yours and your mom's horses. I am assuming that the older horse is Arabian, because that's what my gelding looked like at 31 same color and body condition, I love it when people give an animal a forever home instead of giving up on them. You made my day today Eva, also your dad helping put the fence up and looks like a new door also, shows how much he loves you and your mom.

    Eva, this is a wonderful video. The first few minutes of the video where you are managing the introduction was some really impressive horsemanship -- and that's saying something, considering all of the amazing things you do with Shilas, Flip and Rede! It was nice to see that underneath all of that testosterone, Q has good manners and a good brain. I think you made a good call in giving Sammie his own space, since you want them both to be safe, but it will still be so nice for Q to have a neighbour. They both looked really happy and relaxed!

      Q got real good education through his years but, for as far as I have heared and know (also from his previous owner who had him all his life), he never had social contact besides noses together or like running in fields next to each other. He was a high level dressage horse for the majority of his life. It took years here at my place to get social with others. This friendship with Sammie is only a few months old but really good. ❤️

      Yes ❤️ They are both so deserving of a friend. Sammie can no longer be in the herd because he gets bullied, and one of his eyes has limited eyesight. And now the 2 white beauty’s have each other. 🙏🏻

    @rapturesrevenge 4 роки тому

    Just a question, but why bang Sammie and Q's tails? The breed registries say you shouldn't do that, so I was wondering what your individual reasons for doing it were.
    I'm personally a fan of leaving tails natural and just thinning them if they get too long.

    • @AlwaysHorseLove
      @AlwaysHorseLove  4 роки тому +2

      Everyone has different opinions haha. I do it because in winter, all there is here is mud and rain. The tails get so full of mud clumps and it is not only hard to get out, but also quite annoying for them. I also like to keep the hair quality good and by braiding in those times, the tails stay clean(er) and easier to detangle. 😁 In summer they are loose because of the flies! And washing then is no problem because it’s warm!

    • @rapturesrevenge
      @rapturesrevenge 4 роки тому

      @@AlwaysHorseLove Okay! That makes a lot of sense. It gets very muddy where I am in the U.S. in autumn, winter, and spring. We haven't been getting much snow thanks to global warming, so everything is a soggy, mucky mess. 😧 My dog is a giant mudball right now.
