Big fan of this band. As a Brit, these guys are probably my favourite modern British metal band. The lead guitarist/vocalist Josh is the leader of the band and primary songwriter. My interpretation of the reason for the delay/hiatus is partially that the band simply wasn't big enough to sustain as full time musicians. A few years ago after the death of the guitarist from Architects (a far bigger band), Josh (having been good friends with Tom and the band) stepped in as their guitarist. I think it's partly because he loves the band of course, but also a realistic financial decision and Sylosis is ultimately nowhere near as big as Architects. So in Josh's spare time he has worked on this album and it's finally arrived...I hope it takes the band to the next level because from my own selfish standpoint I hugely prefer Sylosis' thrashier sound over Architects' downtuned prog metalcore and I'd love their releases to be more frequent. :D
They were also held up by the drummer Ali who is the drummer for Bleed From Within and they did a new record 2 years ago and are still touring on it and writing their next album. They released a new single last week.
Josh Middleton talks about the hiatus in a podcast called "the downbeat" with Craig Reynolds. Josh said he thought about splitting Sylosis up after one of the last tours they did, which was even before he joined Architects. It's worth checking out!
the chords kind of are the same that this awesome song from the anime Demon Slayer (which is really awesome)... sounds dope ! ua-cam.com/video/P-uhgIzHYYo/v-deo.html
Stunned that you didn't like the outro! Absolute highlight of the song, reminded me of the out from below outro a lot, has the more melodic vocals and gave me chills
Not really that we didn't like it. It just felt like another section was going to happen but it just ended. It's one of those things that feels odd the first time listening but after that its fine.
Also check out The Edge of the Earth album. You can literally play it from the beginning to the end. It's a masterpiece, in my opinion. Conclusion is great too.
Was waiting for the upload while waiting for a delivery (I work for Grubhub and a few other apps). Definitely came out strong on this one. One of this year's greatest songs!!
Best track of 2019 Vildhjarta Den helige anden Humanitys last Breath - Bursting Bowel of tellus Despite Exile - Torch Shrine of malice - kiss of the wind Thy art is murder - Human target Lorna Shore - Darkest spawn Shadow of intent - dirge of the void Cattle decapitation - times cruel curtain Earth Eater - swarm This gift is a curse - monuments for dead gods
the outro is something I feel is growing on you with every play, first time I heard it, I was not thinking too much but these days its up there in top 10 outros for me
Sylosis are the most underrated metal band out there. All their albums are fantastic but "edge of the earth" is a metal masterpiece. More sylosis reactions guys! This band needs coverage!
rob ostrowski I go back to Monolith more, but EotE is fan-fucking-tastic. All of their records are good, though I prefer the ones with Josh as singer. His vocal delivery is so gritty, and I love it.
Yeah there isn't a record of theirs I don't like. I 100% prefer josh'a vocals to Jamie's. Monolith is an absolute banger of an album. Behind the sun is my personal favourite on there. Edge of the earth just had so many bangers. It had melodic masterpieces, thrashterpieces it just has it all. Earth's dust, the bonus track on the album is one of my all time favourite songs full stop. Absolute fire! I followed these boys before they were signed, I've love them from day 1. But after Jamie left they evolved so much for the good. They're amazing, my favourite band for sure
@@ozzyism7148 I think Jamie's vocals were fine. People have a cow because they were more core-influenced, but I don't think they detracted from the music at all. A Dying Vine is my favorite on Monolith. That fast drum intro and that grunt in the beginning, then going straight into thrashy chaos. It's fantastic. Also, yeah. EoTE had a TON of good songs. Dystopia, Altered States of Consciousness, Beyond the Resurrected, Sands of Time, there's too many to name. I think I only prefer Monolith because it was my introduction to the band.
I never exactly loved them since after Conclusion Of An Age, but as far as I'm concerned, they sure sound like no years passed since their last album. And those chugs!
Maybe that outro/bridge leads into the next song on the album? I do agree that the ending felt more like a bridge then an outro, but overall, an amazing song and I will get the album as soon as it drops. Good reaction guys
Yeah man, glad they are back! I liked the ‘outro’ because it brought life to the ‘intro’ part. Although at first you might think something heavy is coming, it still is ‘heavy’ but in a different way and it sounded great imo. Anyways, can’t wait for the album!
Is that the drummer from Bleed From Within? Btw you guys should totally check out and react to their new song "The End Of All We Know" its a banger! \m/
February 13th!!! Bitches!!! They are severely under rated!! I’m not saying they are the best, however they are definitely in the top contenders of metal today, that sadly they are unheard of.
CARCASS - Under the Scalpel Blade ( its 6 years sence last new stuff dropped before this track) Annihilator - Psycho Ward Sons Of Apollo - Goodbye Divinity Suicide Silence - Love Me To Death
I think you are right about the outra feeling like a bridge, and is backed up by previous works. They used to be totally about epic song length, and epic album lengths, but that used to be the one complaint you would see over and over back in the Edge of the Earth days. So I think they are intentionally withholding on the length of their works. I wish they would just cut loose, and forget the complainers. I do like the song though. Look forward to the album.
Heads up just in case you guys didn’t know sometime next year five finger death Punch is dropping a new album and they have a song out called inside out. On a different note however give this try not to head bang challenge a shot ua-cam.com/video/DxbS8MZ0BX4/v-deo.html
Riff Architect. See what I did there? SYLOSIS RULES !!! BTW, you are probably the only person on the planet who thought the Outro was disappointing as it ties directly into the beginning of the song. Shame on you. If at first you don't succeed listen, listen again.
josh work at architects is amazing but this is place he unleash the beast inside him.
Instant playlist! I've never heard of these guys before. This channel has helped me discover new bands so thanks guys!

Yeah, I enjoy Architects but a lot of their stuff blends in together like a lot of metalcore bands nowadays.
They were also held up by the drummer Ali who is the drummer for Bleed From Within and they did a new record 2 years ago and are still touring on it and writing their next album. They released a new single last week.
@@tomspring213 Yeah, wishing they could react to that song as well.
EDGE OF THE EARTH

Man I thought that outro was amazing. It just built into this big epic thing
Same man, feels like this entire song was building for the outro and it really slaps the feels hard when it hits
Bobby Didcott right? I thought it was super emotional like. Really fell in love with it.
RJA99 9 I'm really happy they hadn't had a breakdown there. Made it way more powerful
the chords kind of are the same that this awesome song from the anime Demon Slayer (which is really awesome)... sounds dope !

imo it's the most memorable part of the song . I'm singing it all the time
Stunned that you didn't like the outro! Absolute highlight of the song, reminded me of the out from below outro a lot, has the more melodic vocals and gave me chills

That was fucking amazing, just found a new band I'm definitely diving into more of these guys, thanks dudes 🔥🤘🔥🤘🔥🤘🔥
Sylosis - Kingdom of Solitude
Sylosis - Leech
Sylosis - Apparitions
I'm so glad they are back. I remember when Conclusion of an Age came out and I was blown away. And they just got better and better.
This new album is gonna be the bomb, cannot wait
I loved this!! I need to listen to more of them
Conclusion of an Age album are the brutalest (in a good way) from them.
Blackest Skyline Thanks for the recommendation. 🍻
Also check out The Edge of the Earth album. You can literally play it from the beginning to the end. It's a masterpiece, in my opinion. Conclusion is great too.
JD Carfield thank you!!! I’m really enjoying their music. How I never heard of them is beyond me! Thanks for the recommendation 🍻
@@blackestskyline9732 conclusion is the worst lol. EotE>Monolith>Dormant heart>Conclusion
Why did I never heard of this song before? They are pretty damn amazing. Thx for showing it to us :)

Very Happy to see Sylosis is back great song.
In case you haven't been informed yet, the new album drops February 7th, 2020!

Kim Layman Check out the album, Monolith
Exactly. Epic. Thats it. I love metal going melodic into epic.

This song is amazing!! Such a talented band 🤘
It’s been 5 long years since Dormant Heart. This one is out in February. I can’t wait.

No.
@@Lu1zh1 Oh?
Been telling them to react to that new Vildhjarta track. That and Crystal Lake's Aeon were the best for me.
Sylosis - Awakening.

Great fucking track went on my play list before it was even over
out from below is fucking so good
You need to thrust harrrrd into these guys. Got into them back in 2012 and never been disappointed
Jason Wilde That's around when I got into them. I heard Out From Below and didn't look back.
I've got all the albums I even got the Pantera tribute album with a bunch of different bands and sylosis is on it and they fucking killed it
Felt the same way about the outro, but after listening to it a few more times, I think it might be building up to the next song in the album
