Yo. Can you cover this guy?

Landmvrks - Rainfall
This riff slaps, smacks, rips, destroys and in the words of mr nocturnal, MEATY
Sylosis is an ever-underrated band. Every time I hear something from them I'm surprised they're not bigger.
indeed 💔
After putting some tracks to my list of them again I realised the problem with most cool songs of them is that their intros are soooo damn long...
Maybe that name?
I recall the first time hearing Turbulence very shortly after conclusion of an age came out way back in 2008, been my favorite band since
Vocals are dead tbh
"I really like that lead work, it sounds like a guitar"
Damn Nik is woke af
"It's a CHUNKDOWN, I'm good with that." I would buy a shirt with this quote on it.
Totally agree. I'm using that term now with my band. Gonna tell lead our next song needs a CHUNKDOWN!
Let's talk about how good that solo is, holy crap
Right?! It gave me chills it was so fucking good
Josh is literally a modern day Chuck Schuldiner. A beast of a vocalist and an equally beastly guitarist
Dude, calm down there
Hes good but will never compare to chuck in both vocals and guitar
I heavily agree and (blasphemy I know) I genuinely prefer him to Chuck by a long shot
My favourite guitarist in metal
Makes sense, Death are one of Josh's favourite bands. Chuck was a beast but Josh writes in a more modern thrash style I'd say.
Nik: We smashing or solo?
Sylosis: Yes.
A Serpent's Tongue, Blackest Skyline, Transcendence, Empyreal, I could go on forever tbh. Such a consistently good band.
Finally someone mentions A Serpents Tongue, such a monster track!!
Procession is one of my favorites, those old school Sylosis sound walls are just so sick
It's incredible what Josh has done with that band. From the early days and near death of them when Jamie and co left. It's unreal that he just took over vocals and kept the band alive.
I must admit, I miss Jamie's cleans. But yeah, Josh is an absolutely incredible musician.
For real dude
Jamie was an amazing vocalist, just a shit guy😂left heart of a coward after 1 album when he could’ve gone so much further, wasted talent
Sylosis never disappoints, Josh writes so well in all aspects, probably one of the underrated guitarist out there.
For Sylosis suggestions:
- Arms Like A Noose (Riffs of the year for me in 2020)
- Out From Below
- A Dying Vine
- Behind the Sun
- A Serpent’s Tongue
- Altered States of Consciousness (Riffs galore)
- To Build A Tomb
- Servitude (Nik you’re gonna like the chunk)
- Indoctrinated
That thrash / core sound is amazing! Great track!
Josh in architects: lets get a little more mainstream with that riffs
Josh in sylosis: lets get a little bit heavier with that riffs
Really liked I sever and that song 👍
Yeah, it’s funny how Architects is going off and getting boring and this track was a bit of a departure for Sylosis, but fairly fresh and fun (and their album earlier this year was great).
Go and listen to their older stuff , so good
Sylosis have always been the best at what they do.
Josh is a killer guitarist and musician - the MAN IS A GENIUS!!
He is literally the best there is at what he does
The way Nik talks about the Architects influence makes me think he doesn't know Josh is a member.
Do you really think someone that involved in the metal community is not going to know he plays in Architects?
By the way he phrased it I think he was implying that the influence is coming from josh actually being in architects
@@SlipknotWarfare73 i feel like nik must know, it just sounded odd the way he said it
He does know he made a reaction a year ago for i sever
@@anmerespinal2028 I sever was seriously a year ago? It doesn’t seem like it’s been that long already
That riff is so damn good. Groovy af.
One of my favourite bands back with a banger. If people ask me what is my favourite metal genre i say Sylosis. Very simple and minimal but super unique signature sound.
To be fair they have plenty of more expansive stuff
Absolutely no one:
Nick: “Meelo death”
Hard cringe every time
Damn I’m early. Havent even listened to the news Sylosis track yet so glad to be watching with you Nik 🤘🏾
Their album this year is one of my favorites this year, and this song is just so good. It was so unexpected and I was so excited to hear it and was blown away
Great reaction dude, these guys are waaaay underrated
have you ever considered doing a deathcore cover of an 80's song?
80’s disco?? 👀
@@Didierrulezd00d nah dude 80's rock
80s cover of a deathcore song?
Deathcore new wave would be sick..something from depeche mode or a band with that darker tone would be cool
@@michaelczesnozki1671 yessir
I remember seeing Sylosis open up for someone years ago. I remember being really impressed because somebody told me they play in standard tuning, and they were still the heaviest band of that night. They left such an impression on me, I don’t even remember who they opened up for. All I remember from that night Sylosis.
Eclipsed has the most beautiful Josh solo.
It’s pretty early, I love your content nick! Keep doing what you do best!
the intro riff reminds me of This means war by Avenged Sevenfold
But not ripping off Metallica
@@noahleach7690 it’s almost like the point of that album was to pay tribute to the bands that inspired them most.
Reminds me of Welcome to the Family too
@@Dreager141 by playing the same riffs in different names like they wrote them, that is tribute? :D
@@storedmush just because a riff has a similar vibe, doesn’t mean it’s the exact same as another, chill out buddy
Thank you Nik for all the bands you’ve introduced to me in 2020, may there be many more in 2021
Hey man,i listened this song before and i love it,BUT i didnt seen the clip yet for some reason, and now this video poped in my recs and i want to say looking this clip for firs time with your reaction is so fun )) I mean it probably even better then i would watch it first time originally, thanks )
Does Sylosis one single bad music? Never!
Do you English? Never.
@@Alex-Walker Looking at his name, you can clearly see his main language isn't English. How many languages do you speak?
@@Alex-Walker don't be a dick dude
@@Alex-Walker you must have few friends
@@taichi5793 I’m trilingual kappa )but I am)
Been a fan of Sylosis for a long time and Josh has really progressed as a musician. His time with Architects is really sneaking into his vocals and guitar work. If you are looking for older Sylosis look at Empyreal on Edge of the Earth or Fear the World on Monolith. Thanks for digging into this new track Nik!
Dude, heard this two days ago and have been cranking it SOLID!
Finally found what I'm looking for, not just heavy but have some quality, glad to hear classic riff here and there..one fans is added👍🏼
I can't wait to see that cover!
Hell yeah they have new songs😍🔥🔥 thanks for reacting this awesome band 👍
hey nik, do you also know the old sylosis stuff? best album imo is conclusion of an age (2008), best song probably reflections through fire. if you dont please give it a try ;)
I actually think Reflections Through Fire is one of the weaker songs on the album. That means nothing though, because every song is incredible.
@@magnuslikestanks6044 yeah they are all great but i like the speed of it in particular. Maybe im also a little biased since i tabbed the song out for guitar pro back then ^^
I am huge on After Lifeless Years, the lead guitar after the first chorus gets me every time.
@@thefatcat6695 yes great riffs indeed. i like the parallels to Mors Principium Est. Both are my favs in this genre if you dont count trivium, since they are somewhat "happier"
Best album for me is EOTE
You make my day, every day Nik
I was hoping you covered it yet...
It's a pleasure seeing you banging and tripping with the song, man 😂
structuring like this makes you wanna listen to it more than twice, love it =)
Love SYLOSIS. Do more. Do it now. More now. All the SYLOSIS tracks you can find do them
I've got your spotify playlist saved at home and work for all day chonkiness.
Buena reacción Nik 🖤🤘🏼
Never heard of this band until today after I watched your heavy riffs in E standard video. And now you give me this!!?? What the effing fuck just happened to my ears! This song is a banger. Thanks for the introduces
Josh so good in everything. Astonishing
I feel like everything they do is great. Still new to Sylosis, but goddamn Josh is so talented.
Looking forward to seeing Sylosis live now in 2021
Sylosis are an amazing band, seen them live about 3 times now, never fail to please 🤘🤘🤘
🙏 Empyreal 🙏 - they’re ability to blend decades and genres of metal so smoothly is unreal
great video dude
Sylosis was one of the first bands I'd seen live, back like 13 years ago, when they had Jamie as vocalist. Playing small uk town shows they were great band and still are :)
damm this song sounds fucking great and those guitar riffs sounds great
This defo feels like it has a Bleed from Within vibe in that main riff
Snapped my neck to this one! Sylosis has been and continues to be one of my favorite metal bands.
If you've never listened to it, their Edge of the Earth album is probably my top 5 all-tike favorite albums.
They've always had a thrashy groove and solo's that melt your face!! The drummer is from bleed from within, another awesome band from the UK (ey up the scots)
Yo PLEASE react to SAW from orbit culture (or like anything from them) WAY too underrated band!
Open Eye is hands down my favorite by them right now. Ugh. It's a banger.
heck yeah , he would love those grooves
that song and the video IS BANGER i couldnt stop listening to them when i first found out
@@beratugursolmaz264 fuck yeah same!!!
Dude i just listened because of this comment. Wow what a sick song
Sylosis , Arsis , Allegeon these guys deserve much much more :) keep rocking
I find all the best music through Nik.
Also drummer is from Bleed from within. An incredible band too!
What Dwells Within is one of their heaviest songs, be sure to check it out.
I’m getting my guitar re setup at a luthier for that song specifically to do a cover. I absolutely love that song
Peace n love y'all
Youbshouldblisten to Out From Below or Empyreal from their older albums Nik it is awesome!
Out From Below is up there in their catalog for sure! A Dying Vine, Behind The Sun, A Serpent’s Tongue and Altered States of Consciousness are all great as well.
Beginning Gives me oldschool godsmack feels lol
When I look for new music. I look no further than your reaction videos.
Sylosis truly deserves to be more well-known in the scene. They're seriously so underrated!
Wasn't expecting any new Sylosis just now, so this was a good surprise this morning ^^' (it was morning for me here in Germany when they dropped it anyway ;P)
Sylosis - After Lifeless Years
So i would love to see you reacting to "altered states of conciousnes" by sylosis. It is probaply my favorite song by them and the technicality of that song will blow you away.
You nailed it when you said it has that old skool feel but totally modern sound. Josh's riffs are so heavy and unpredictable yet they resolve like a perfect piece to a puzzle. I have been a huge fan of Sylosis since the beginning, never cared for any other bands he's been in though.
Teras , blackened skyline, conclusion of an age. All SYLOSIS bangers
This is tight!
I’m shocked NIK didn’t review the two new EVERY TIME I DIE tunes.
hey buddy, love your content!
Please try out Forgetting the Memories and their song Cult.
their melodies are unique, screams are amazing, and breakdowns are catchy!
What a perfect fucking day. It's Friday, We get a Nik Nocturnal reaction to Sylosis, and Josh Middleton's signature LTD got announced.
Nik you should listen to some of their older stuff. Conclusion of an age was the first Sylosis album I heard back in 2010. I fell in love with them because of that album. Not many bands shred guitar solos anymore, I’m glad they still do
Oh you have to cover this
So it's funny cause Ali the drummer in this band also plays in Bleed From Within and the intro from 1:23 onwards reminds me of BFW's song Into Nothing. Dig the tune and great reaction Nik! \m/
React to Hollow front Don't fall asleep heaviness and goodness in this song are incredible 😍
Totally a banger
Man I haven't listened to some sylosis in a min
Their Drummer, Jason Richardson is also in Bleed From Within. He's a monster.
2020's hellscape continues to bear its fruit as it comes to a close. It has certainly been a winter flower for the metal scene. SO many bands using the time to think, write, and reinvent.
The Groove is real here
That's a banger.
Another banger from Sylosis, thank you! Some more please!!:
Teras
Empyreal
Out From Below
Thanks dude !
Sal3m "love is a wonderfull lie"
The singer is Matteo from Novelists.
Some of the reverb/bass soundscape was a bit spread thin in some places, with silent pauses feeling off. But some of those passages with more layers were incredible, yet easy to parse. Vocals perfect
wow, havent heard from sylosis in a while, they are pretty bad ass, very underrated
Holy fuck what a banger
That main riff man, holy crap.
really i love this band so so much 🤘🤘🤘🔥
Fuckin love sylosis. One of the few bands I clap like a little girl waiting for the next album.
fun
AND he's playing his new, just previewed today, LTD signature guitar. LTD JM-II. Mmmmmmmmm-hmmmmmmmmm.....
Sylosis is such a good combination with Josh and Ali, look at their other bands. Coming together it makes for tasty, tasty riffs.
Josh is such a fucking weapon on guitar, I love he keeps the art of the solo alive.
Ali has this simplicity with drums that has such a massive sound, so many drummers over-do it a bit, dont get me wrong it sounds sick, but Ali's approach in less is more but with some technical flow is awesome.
Check out the song "A Serpent's Tongue" off edge of the Earth album. You will not be disappointed
Hey bro. I just wanted you to know.. because of
your tips and lessons I am now begging to become a solid metal player. The way you explain things is just what I needed. Your not throwing music notes and shit at the screen and talking to us like we did 5 years of music courses in College lmao. Your just like here’s how this sounds slow so you can copy, now here’s how you can sound with practice and time. Keep up the work brother 🤘🏼
Surprisingly, tons of Gojira in it! Not complaining in the slightest. The somewhat muted chugs and the "harmonics" (I forgot the proper name). It's so meaty-
The main riff, mainly, is what reminds me of them. Sooo good!
Sylosis bringin the heat consistently
Nice!
Hey Nik, what are your thoughts on Zeal & Ardor? Tuskegee?
Sylosis NEVER DISAPPOINTS
