From my experience: 1. look up for BTS stations on map, 2. buy cheap pre-paid sim cards for every telecom operator around 3. point antena on every BTS you find promising. 4. test NOTE: signal strength have much less impact on actual transfer than load on that certain BTS antena with you're connecting to. Thank you for the video! I don't miss any of your new videos. It would be great if you can tell how to read quality of LTE signal measurements. What is good and what is not? How to connect LTE antenna that is on this video preview to my Chateau LTE 12 device so LTE signal would improve, or it doesn't work that way?

hello I am facing a problem with the mikrotikatllte18. When I run the speed measurement or download application, it disconnects B1 and B3 and only B40 is connected to me.
I use scripts to detect near bts antennas and create next scripts with CellLock to them. Next script at 3am try connect to them and do speedtest and back to auto settings. After few days I can move antenna and repeat process. All results of that doing are in comment's of CellLock scripts who do speedtest - > those print file and sort in excel - I have what in my area is best - but this is long process like 1week.
Testing at night could cause false results if your operator is saving energy. Here in Finland all operators do some kind of energy saving at nights. Others shut down some frequencies and others shut down MiMo on their base stations during night time.
@@MikkoLundahl In Poland we have best speedtest at night when is low count of users, good time to test max speed. Each country have differ spef. Differ bands and CA matrix. Some ISP even use QoS and many CA not change anything. My scripts give me way to discover that cell's who are working, give some speed and then I have proper cells to focus signal on them. I use LDFR+EM12G mostly.
Choose a MikroTik device with a higher CAT modem, they are able to work in multiple bands at the same time, with the same number of antennas. For example LHG LTE18 supports this feature
@@mikrotik i have ATL LTE 18 (ATLGM&EG18-EA, 4x4 MIMO) so its capable. So is there another thing i could do to improve my speed and use more bands/antenas. (my RI is 1 or 2 - would like to see 4 :) )
@@mikrotik I own one. It's gorgeous, it works very well. I was thinking of making a switch to 5G with a better performing antenna. But this time I don't want to put it on the terrace of the house...possibly on my balcony. I live on the 4th floor and I can see the BTS. There are no obstacles between me and the Tower. The exception is some other buildings that have one floor more than mine. i.e. a 5* or 6th floor but to be sure I would have to do some test measurements. I had spotted the Chateau 5G but they are too expensive. Do you have anything cheaper?
While I support Mikrotik products, I felt scammed after purchasing several LHG 4G kit and finding that their spec sheet for signal is a lie, due to the large range between frequencies. I get better signal on my mobile phone. It's an embarrassment.

Yes, this is a good strategy. www.cellmapper.net/map is an excellent site
What about using apps like OpenSignal to find a near cell tower?
most of the time it works, sometimes prepaid sim cards are "low priority" so speeds might differ.
EG18-EA it would be nice to have a solid tutorial to setup carrier aggregation and cell lock in roder to squeeze everything out of the selected bts
Those features are turned on automatically, there is no need to set them up
@@mikrotik if You reboot the router/antenna - channels used for communication might change (if not locked) ... so please add this information

Like the other comment says, LHG contains the router too. It's not an antenna, it's a router+antenna 2in1

Any antenna recommended for Chateau 5G AX ?
does this work with 5G (T-Mobile) ?

It is impossible to tell what happens without deep investigation. It is very likely your operator disconnects you from those bands for some reason.
