Solution for "slow" Internet, caused by weak LTE network signal.
Swapping an OEM antenna for a professional, external one, significantly improves LTE signal level, which boosts data transmission speeds.
In this movie, TP-Link Archer MR200 LTE router was connected to ATK-LOG ALP LTE MIMO 2x2 Antenna.
While choosing an antenna for a router, type and number of its connectors must be considered. Archer MR200 has two SMA sockets. It does not matter which antenna goes to which socket.
If you aren’t listening at 1.75x speed you aren’t living
Backing tune sounds amazing at 1.75x
Feels
I think 1.5x sounds the best
It must took a hell lot of time to put in all the video editing work. Good job. 10/10.
Very impressive increase in speed! And a very well edited video.😃🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
This was an incredibly well put together video. A few questions though.
1. What cell service was this video done with?
2. What kind of bars were they receiving before the antenna change?
3. What router is being used?
4. What antenna is being used?
I ask this because many setups I have found say they would not boost speeds to that extent. Other are in the $1000 price range. I live in rural Midwest. Highest speed available is DSL in my area, and it's spotty at best as they have admittedly over sold the service. So I went with a LTE hot spot and a Nighthawk MR1100. It too has terrible service. So I'm looking for something else that will allow us stream and whatnot.
1. LTE - GSM Polish operator PLUS GSM
2. Before only 1 bar and after 4 bars

We do not operarte in USA market, ufortunately we can not be in any asistance to You on that matter.
Thats also a crappy CAT4 LTE router. Even my 10-year-old iPhone 7 has faster LTE (around 3 times when I tested it).
And I’m really interested how this antenna effects the gain (reception) and if it would be good for a sailboat…
Thank you very much this was very helpful and that is the exact router i have also
Some defects in your router video program, please update your router settings { select band } then you can see the difference in your net speed... I tell you in my experience. This is Joji Aryattu
My tplink work better whit automatic band. How is possible?!
Can you please clarify mire? Thank you
@@Samuel-yh2xsdepends on the bands available and signal strength. For example, here B8 works better than B20 because B20 has priority, but some providers opt to have equal priority on lower frequency bands, which usually can't be aggregated. This will cause the router to prefer the carrier by SINR rather than rank in the signaling.
Excellent illustrations
I thought the 2 antenna was for wifi signal, so it was for cell site , so where is the antenna for wifi? Thanks
There is an internal antenna for wifi in the device.
is the opposite@@dipolen
@@dipolen It is a real shame that this fact, that the WiFi antenna are inside the router's case, is not mentioned in TP-LINK's manuals. I've seen other YT videos titled "boost WiFi range" by replacing these antennae, which is utter rubbish - you're just boosting the LTE reception/transmission (mobile phone / cellphone signal).
Thank you for confirming that the WiFi antenna are internal.
@@terryjimfletcher its a 1cm/3cm internal antena, bat poor wifi. I try this days too see hau my wif notbock antenas kent meck mor signal .
Great video, thank you! Do the Cable lengths matter for the speed and if so what quality should I look for in a cable?
the whole point. no fucking water. thank you so much.
thank You, do not forget to hit like and subscirbe and hear the message from our sponsor ;)
this looks to be a directional antenna, so if i can't see the tower is it any use.. also on your site you state it is a MiMo can you clarify please.
I see that the first antenna is mounted Vertical and the second is Horizontal. If I install both antennas vertical will I have the same signal strength or it will not perform that great?
It has to go that way.
Ok@@dipolen
good job 👍
Just to be clear the LTE at home hasn't changed when i use a cell phone? This only gets better mobile broadband over wifi right?
Correct. To improve LTE signal at home You would have to use an LTE repeater, which, at least in Poland (place of filming), is illegal to use.
The whole idea of putting the antenna outside is the big thing. I just got a Poynting XPOL-6 ( 1710-2700MHz - very old now ) antenna because the signal at the house is terribly weak -105dB so I'm hoping that things will improve dramatically.
Just as a test at the work-place I put it up in the second floor window which has direct line of sight to the tower. Using this same router (TP-Link mr600) without the exterior antenna gives download of around 25Mbps and upload of around 7Mbps. Using the antenna just loosely put into the window ( behind the glass ) and pointing at the tower - without optimizing the angle - I get around 70Mbps download and 30Mbps upload. Truly dramatic. But then again I'm not that far from the tower - maybe 250m - 300m.
Informative video
I see you install antenna on both end of router but ain't one of it for broadcast wifi signal to house?
The Wifi antenna is located inside the device.
Number One! 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
What is the meaning of the red arrow mark on Antenna ?
What red arrow? Can You point the time in the movie where it is shown?
@@dipolenit behind the lpda antenna maybe point up
@@AshokElectronicsVideoMAX We still have no clue, please tell us when in the video it is shown. Use time stamp, like 3:46
I'm pretty sure the red arrow is for up as there is normally a drain hole on this type of antenna
Not the exact same but same brand
Только в сельской местности целесообразно применять остронаправленные антенны. Напряженность поля сети мобильной связи в городской черте достаточна для работы роутера на подоконнике с ненаправленными антеннами.
good job❤
Would adding a sma splitter and add two more aerials to make four aerials hurt the router?
It will hurt the router. Don't do it.
Sir why one Antenna vertical and other horizontal ?
They are intended to receive radio waves in horizontal and vertical polarisation.
Thanks for your reply, please keep posting more Videos.
Router model ?
Dammn 70 eur is a good price for this. Also if i dont exactly know where the nearest tower is what direction should i point them?
You should go to your mobile/cellphone provider's website to see if they offer coverage maps, some provide locations of masts.
Alternatively, find all masts in your area and point these directional antenna to each one in turn and see which gives you the best readings.
Its Better to get me a job to upgrade to 300 mpbs wiresd connection instead all these headaches! :)
What is the SMA and brand name?
SMA is the name of the connector, see en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SMA_connector
Good
Will this increase mobile signal on an iPhone?
no

it will create uplink interference to surrounding devices
Thanks
Of course, but so will a router without external antennas, plus that this looked like a directional antenna.
@ antenna gain of external antenna is much higher than router's antenna. I believe there should be standard gain for antenna.
Thats also a crappy CAT4 LTE router. Even my 10-year-old iPhone 7 has faster LTE (around 3 times when I tested it).
And I’m really interested how this antenna effects the gain (reception) and if it would be good for a sailboat…
The iPhone 7 is Cat9, but a Cat6 router should do fine. Since a sailboat moves, it would be better having something like a Mikrotik omnidirectional antenna.
In the end I bought the Netgear M2 NightHawk router (CAT20). I’m quite happy with it
Interesting
what is that thing on the other side of the antenna? cant we just add sma cable and just use the original antenna?
You can try that, it may work ;).
Truth is this is shitty wifi adapter and it needs to build another construction for strengthening the signal.
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
+1
Crap vodeo. Those antena are only for wifi. The mobile antenna is inside the board. To connect to your internet provider you need to boost the antenna that is iside the board, not your wifi antenna.
It is the other way around. The two outside antennas are detachable external 4G LTE Antennas. The WiFi antennas are on the inside. Please check the specification on the manufacturer website:
