Good product and tutorial, only and very important thing you missed to mention is : in very moment it put passthrough you lose capability to connect to LGH for even admin needs, e.g. when you are on roof to install and see signal levels. Next time you would need to get into LGH you would need hard reset. Please add tutorial for how to leave admin access for LGH.
@@Mensan1960 No, it doesn't. There are ways to connect aftrer, e.g. creating vlna , but all of that you have confogire before you push the button. Let Druvis show best way how.
Please create another video comparing your LTE products i.e. SXTLTE/6, LHGLTE/6, LHGG LTE6, and the new ATL LTE18 (which isn't available anywhere yet).
Thanks for this great tutorial. Can you please explain how to do upgrades, verification of the LTE signal, and SNMP monitoring of the passthrough LHG LTE Kit?
@@RB01-lite what's involved in setting up VLANs? Do I only need to create a VLAN with ID x, assign IP address to it, and optionally set up DHCP server? Or should the LTE connection be passed through on a VLAN?
@@RB01-lite Thanks, would it make sense to imagine a passthrough LHG LTE Kit being managed by the CapsMan of the router and to do maintenance and monitoring of the passthrough LHG LTE Kit through this CapsMan?
This is a really cool solution. I also use a similar setup with an SXT LTE6 as modem + HEX as router. Most stable mobile internet setup I ever had. I was able to enable IPv6 if the LTE6 device acted as a router, but I fail to do the same if I set the LTE profile to passthrough (Couldn't change LTE APN - Passthrough can not be used with ipv6-interface! (6)). Do you see a fix coming for this in the near future?
@@EdvardasSmakovas if ether1 is the port you would like to have the passthrough on, then first you need to remove it from the "bridge", which originally bridges ether1 and ether2. Additionally, you can define VLANs on ether1 to be able to reach the admin interface, those are magically not passed through (and then add the "VLAN interface" from under ether1 to the bridge).
Does not work on my sxt lte kit...so I have to double nat? Why cant use eth2 as admin network and full lte bridge/passthrough to eth1. I tried with vlan now results for me :/
new drivers are required, and new drivers are only made for 802.11ax devices. The "new driver" file is too large for older 802.11ac models, as they usually have smaller NAND chip
Even though I know a lot about networking, Druvis' speech is pleasant to listen to

You sure Mac-telnet doesn’t work?

Great timing, been looking at buying an LTE18 unit but wanted to do the passthrough to my RB5009.
same set up here... just add a couple vlans to have access on lte and also internet for self update modem/packages
I want the same kind of lte passthrough on my sxt lte6, but i get a failure: passthrough interface can not be slave! Any advices?
I needed this so much. Many thanks !!!

You would need to do a more complex setup using vlans.

When SXT 5G, LHG 5G, ATL 5G ?
Please make a video about ipv6 interface on LTE
Do a tutorial on tackling bufferbloat on the LTE interface

How do you configure SXT? I can't enable passthrough on sxt lte6, see my other comment in this thred :/

Are you able to access the web interface or winbox once its set into passthrough mode?
No, that’s the idea behind pass through. If you need to access RouterOS, you can just use it in regular routing mode
What is a bare minimum configuration for lte device to use it in passthrough mode?
How is he running winbox on Linux??
Dose he use win for it?
Using the Snap Store no doubt.
Use Wine to run Winbox
This is great but would've been handy to include the steps for configuring it using the winbox menu interface, and not terminal commands only.
It doesn't have web interface where I can set it without winbox commands.
Does ipv6 passthrough work, specifically IPv6 with IPv4 tunneling support (e.g. DS-Lite, Lw4o6, 464XLAT, NAT64/DNS64 or MAP-T/E)?
Would this would to pass-thru cell signals for calling?
no
I wonder why older devices like the hAP3 don't have WPA3. Is there some hardware requirement to it?

@@mikrotik Well that's a real bummer because those older devices still perform very well. But thank you very much for the honest answer :)
In this situation, where would you mangle the ttl?
The hAP ac2. Not sure if the hop is actually counted in the case of pass-through.
Just one thing in ROS , can't auto to get LTE APN in Sim service provider
Some providers do not hand out their APN properly, so default APN won't work. In those cases you need to set it manually.
@@RB01-lite Thanks your reply , just can i defult set some APN in round in batch file to switching
Could you please show how to not connect to other countries mobile operator, just the SIM operator ?! Please it's very much needed!
how do we get get to the LGH once passthrough is enabled? 😢
You can use this method: ua-cam.com/video/IZFAeLbujso/v-deo.html
Or use RoMON.
it became like a ap bridge
Wait... hAP AC "SQUARED"?! I've never heard it called that, TIL!
I think you have found your calling Mic. UA-cam instructional videos 😂😂
