@@BB-vi3fb I did that atleast 1000 times while playing SVR07. good times man.... not sure if 2K cares about the fun aspect of the game anymore or if they ever did since those days and opted for realism to sell copies.

Just lean the ladder on the ropes and run up to it then press the strike button.
One thing I’d like to see brought back in WWE 2K that was in the older games like the Smackdown and SvR series: if you have a top rope finisher, being able to do it off the top of a ladder, the cage or through a table.
That was great feature, dunno why been cancelled.
I agree with this. I miss doing Frog Splashes off the ladder in TLC matches
Yukes use to develop for WWE 2K before 2020. Now Yukes is responsible for AEW Fight Forever.

I like WWE 2K23 it's a good game imo, but after watching this, I wonder why 2k doesn't have some of this features THAT WERE IN OLDER GAMES
I think maybe is due to visual concepts is rebulding from scratch the game since yuke's stop from making wwe games

Something you forgot to add with the ladder match, in 2k23, you can place the ladder anywhere in the ring or outside the ring. In Fight Forever, you can only place the ladders in pre determined spots which are the turnbuckles, rings ropes, corners of the ring, and middle of the ring. This killed the ladder match game for me in FF
Remember when 2k had that for like two years? I guess that was a yukes idea
@maineventmafia1633 I don't honestly understand how they think that it was a good idea. You're restricting and limiting your players with what they can do in a chaotic match, yet can give us explosives and what not
AEW is pretty good for the first game, i hope it's will succeed financially and expand more. WWE has a legacy of 20+ games so obviously it will have a lot more.
Hope so i much prefer Fight Forever, it’s a well thought out game especially when it comes to creating your custom wrestlers and having to get as many stat points as you can for them through the road to elite. All your matches earn you money for unlocks as well through all the modes so a sense of linked purpose to all of it. Plus the wrestling is just more fun imo with old skool style controls.

But no one can truthfully say that AEW Fight Forever, a game with limited features and PS2 graphics, is better than a game with a 300+ roster, extensive Creation Suite, a GM Mode, a Universe type system, lots of match types and more moves.
Are there other weapon finishers in AEW FF?
I hope all of them do in future updates, even comical ones (like slapping a pizza slice on your opponent's face for the Pizza Box weapon)
AEW and WWE have to learn a lot from each other to give perfect wrestling shows / games to wrestling fans
AEW is so near to do that

I cut Fight Forever a little slack here actually. It's AEW's first game and from what I've played so far, it rocks. Old school styled gameplay with plenty of detail swimming around in there. They can keep improving with each game
They won't have a new game for a while! So get used to it because this game will be around for the next few years.
I don't because they had wwe's former developer and the "legend" aki producers. Everyone came out saying fight forever was going to be legendary but now it's "wait for the updates man."

The best wrestling game IMO. Slightly beats out HCTP for me.
There are alot of problems with AEW sure it brings back that arcade feeling of the old and thats cool but what good is that if the game is not balanced it has a terrible story mode and just a lack of options instead of being fan boys just because it's not a WWE product we need to stat the obvious its just not a solid product maybe in the future but not right now
That’s the issue with 2k rn lol. I picked up wwe2k23 the day it dropped and can say it was more or less 22. 2k been doing this nba so it only makes sense WWE get the same. Having another company to force them to actually improve is good, besides all the WWE games were (at their core) arcadey up until very recently with all the crazy graphics and presentations. That’s what their trying to sell tho, the PRESENTATION of wwe not fun wresting game IMO

AEW looks like the old THQ wwe games in terms of gameplay and animation. More casual and looks fun too.

Honestly aew forever plays like the older wrestling games they put more fun over graphics and simulation thq's simulation and stale and boring 4 years we can't even get a decent Universe motor still the same thing every year
Ill say this AEW FF has gameplay features WWE games are missing and WWE games have Game options AEW FF lacks - The insane part is FF was made by Yukes the same people who made the template of what is WWE 2k that said it is a matter of coding and design.
comparison is inevevitable but also unfair in some aspects as in various forms wwe 2k23 has been going for 23 years and fight forever is the first offering from aew,ff is a fun game but is very light in options and wrestlers as was the original smackdown but given the technological improvements that have arrived since then it is unacceptable to be this way,on that basis the lack of refinement i can forgive but lack of wrestlers and features certianly not,and while both games are not perfect and each have their issues i feel 2k is the better game overall,ff so far is a good opening from them and gives me hope for the future if they choose to add more content or even develop a second game but as it stands it is not the better product

I have played the WWE/2K games for years, but, I will never understand all the hate for AEW: FF and why so many WWE fans seem to want it to fail, the 2K series badly needs some competition to make them pull their finger out instead of them releasing the same old, same old.. game with minimal changes every single year, all the time 2K have no one to worry about they can continue to be lazy, long story short if AEW: FF does well (or any other wrestling game) and it finally pushes 2K to improve then all wrestling gaming fans win 🤷♂

Bought tbis game today !! This is how i wanted wwe to be .. i get there is a place for sim but man do i miss the arcade style .. we need to suppoet this game so we have rwo products rather than just 2k and beaides 2k been sleep these past 5 years and it was only these last 2 they made some effort but they have a way to go to rebuild the physics and engine of the game ( ie environment interaction in wwe 2k is horrible)
Probably wont never happends, but i want one game AEW with realistic graphic and real size of wrestlers and realistic Physics and this all awesome features added on AEW Fight Forever. , i think would come one cool game on my opinion but ok.

I won't say never, cuz I guarantee we'll see a more realism based AEW game but I feel that realism will come in the form of models and what you can do like in the actual show over the graphics itself. like more realism when it comes to weapon interaction and all that cuz right now it's somewhat limited with the weapon engagement against people (like the 2 hit thing). victory animations and full entrances will come at some point too.
AEW fight forever looks old and pretty bad, It truly looks like it was made for PS1 and PS2. I wouldn't waste my money on a game like that. WWE 2k23 has good graphics and abit better controls unlike AEW, Even tho I don't like or watch WWE since it has boring shows and PPV's I watch old school Raw is war. But this game WWE Is abit better.
I'm fine with AEW Fight Forever being an arcade-like game. It's obviously meant to be cartoonish in a way so fans need to realize this when comparing it with WWE's 2K games. But, I would also like to see AEW release a live simulation game like WWE's 2K. Feel like it would be badass and would enjoy the realism.
2k20 comes out complaints about its lacking features and glitches are valid. Aew comes out lacking a bunch of stuff but thats ok it will get better 🤔. Hows that fair? Aew ff is banking on nastalgia from no mercey as soon as it wares off most people will stop playing. It has way to little to keep it going. Aew ff did nothing but take old wwe stuff and called it new just like the show does. Also its not the same thq that it was. Also you can say the limited match types and only 4 in the ring at a time and short matches are all by choice. Correct they chose not to give more matches or longer exciting matches or to have more then just 4 people at once. They chose this dumb button mashing for pins that does nothing anyway. They literaly kept most of it the same as no mercy to bank on nastalgia. But funniest part is no mercey has better longer story modes it has fingting through out the back it has a bigger roster it has more matches and only 4 in the ring but not by choice but limitation. So the copied a game everyone loves to once again bank on nastalgia but couldnt even give half of what made it good.

aew looks more fun. however I don't know most of the wrestlers I know sting and Owen heart, matt Hardy and maybe one other one but that's it. they should have 80s-90s wrestlers as well

I havent played 2k23, but I did play WWE 2k22 and It's definitely their best WWE game (excluding 2014 because it wasnt theirs). I dont know what you are on honestly

I agree with peoples complaints about content, but the actual wrestling gameplay is just way more fun than 2K23. The entire arena is like a interactive sandbox and the grappling system is intuitive like the classic AKI games. It's hard to understand when first playing it as to why that formula is simply superior compared to what the 2K series had turned into. Like, if you have to input a strike combination to perform a grappling move in a wrestling game, it's trash. Which is why No Mercy, VPW2 and Fire Pro have always been top dog.

There’s no way people can tell me wwe2k23 is fun every game mode sucks and it’s boring the core gameplay suck should’ve just kept 19 engine with better graphics aew is more fun and with updates more wrestlers and more match types not bashing 2k because aew should have most of these things but it’s like 2k doesn’t really care about the game
