Jefferson 60 Motor Yacht Tour | Part 3 - Accommodations And Bridge

- Опубліковано 11 лип 2024
- Welcome to your in-depth VIP tour of OLOH, our 60 foot Jefferson Marquessa Motor Yacht. This is no breeze-through! We dive deep into lots of details about the boat and the projects we've taken on and are taking on in our ongoing refit.
Part 3 takes you through OLOH's accommodations deck including our multifunction Captain's Lounge along with the VIP, Guest and Primary staterooms. And wait until you see OLOH's hallway (properly called a passageway on a boat). Then it's up to perhaps what is our favorite space on board, OLOH's bridge deck. You'll see a couple of projects we've taken on there as well as the dual purpose functionality of our tender deck. And be sure to catch the special Jasper love at the very, very end of the video!

The best layout on a 60ft Motoryacht I've ever seen . Immaculate interior decoration too . Like a modern, up to date Hatters 53 and then some !!
Thank you so much Justin. The layout really does work very well and she truly belies her LOA. The improvements continue...
Hi AJ & Tim . Thank you for the awesome tour of OLAH . It gave me an overwhelming sense of your passion for yachting & the wonderful memories you are making together . Not only is Tim good with tools but also an amazing artist . Great that you don't let the cosmetic things take away from enjoying what you have . A beautiful yacht & life together . God bless . Mark (Toronto) 💔🧡💛💚💙💜
Hey Mark - we really appreciate your thoughtful comment. We do love it and the life it brings and don't take any of it for granted. And yes (A.J. writing here), Tim is a true Renaissance Man. There is little he can't do because he'll aways take on a challenge and figure it out. Cheers to you!
What an awesome and beautiful boat!
Thanks Bill - we really appreciate the kind words.
Spectacular boat! Can't wait to see the engine rooms! Thanks for taking us aboard!
Thanks so much! Great to have you with us.
As I daydream about my "maybe one day", when I'm able to get a cruising yacht of my own and do what you do, I've looked at many, many walkthrough videos of various boats. I have never seen one that had the engines configured like that, and you're right. That passageway to the Master makes the boat look absolutely massive. Thanks for the peek belowdeck!
Pretty cool right? We love yacht design because of the inherent challenges it presents with economizing space. The interior volume definitely belies the boat's LOA, largely because of that feature. And while there are obvious compromises (as in all things boating), on balance, it works really well in our opinion. Cheers!
Hey guys! Thanks for the shout-out! Love that picture. We hope to get together sometime in the future. These are great tour videos.
So glad you enjoyed the tour. And that fantastic moment in time time will always live on in that shot. We'll see you out there!!
This is the third time watching this video love this channel. I am also subscribed to c-shels they are so much fun to watch!! Best two boats on the water!! Take care and give Jasper a kiss!
Yep, we’re envious. Probably past you when visiting Catskill or Kingston in our half your size boat
Well, as they say, it's not the size of the ship 😎 Hope to see you out there next season!
Thanks guys Great vidéo Feels like you’re upping the production quality a bit ie: nice intro and the camera shot going up the bridge stairs.. very nice My favourite is definitely the bridge Views of Bahamian waters from there most’ve been incredible You guys spoiled us with 3 videos in 3 weeks I’m really enjoying this!! Thanks again Please keep’em coming 😜👍❤️❤️
Thanks Andy - we really appreciate that. If you head to our blog you will see those very pictures you speak of: myoloh.com/category/bahamas/
While we won't be keeping up with the weekly video release pace, more are on the way soon!
Great tour, thank you, beautiful vessel!
Thanks, as always David!
Continuing to enjoy this very detailed tour series. I was amazed when you showed us the hallway below, something you just don’t see everyday. You guys have a real gem in OLOH.
Thanks Panacea - we really appreciate that. And that passageway catches a lot of people by surprise!
Very nice. Thanks for the tour. Love your trip videos as well. Great details.
Thanks Mark - so glad you've been enjoying.
Sheldon and Cindy are one of my fav channels! Thanks for making this content.
And thank YOU for watching!
Great job! You guys seem so welcoming, relaxed, and friendly. Love the boat and your mods and upgrades. Looking forward to the next video.
Thanks Dave - we are humbled by your kind words. Cheers!
Great yacht. Fantastic usage of space. Just goes to show you don't need a bigger boat to accomodate all your needs.
Thank you. We have found it to be a great platform that balances our wants and needs well... at the moment 😎
Beautiful boat, beautiful people.
😊
Beautiful woodwork
Thank you for your tour videos. I like that 4th stateroom office lounge, great space. I also like the side engine rooms giving you the center aisle accessing the cabins fore and aft. You have a great live aboard.
Thank you Eric. It really is a great use of space and we truly enjoy the layout. Good to have you along!
@@OLOH with those engines alongside the lower deck passageway, how are the noise levels??
Noise levels are not bad at all and the engine rooms are well insulated. It's obviously louder when we're running at higher speeds, but at our typical cruise speed of ten knots it is particularly reasonable.
Really enjoyed the tour ... gorgeous Yacht!!! Love you guys, looking forward to more videos of your adventures!
Thank you. Now that the tour is complete, we'll get back to some cruising videos for sure.
Love these tours! Very nice vessel.
Thanks Brent!
Absolutely magnificent! Thanks for the tour.
D
Our pleasure David - thank you so much.
Another Class "A" video. Great tour makes me feel like a VIP?😊😊👍
Not a flashy James Bond boat. She’s a classic, beautiful home on the sea.
Thanks Cathryn. Despite our typically more modern aesthetic, we were really drawn to OLOH's "classic with a modern twist" lines.
Just a lovely boat. Purposeful lines, well thought out interior and best bridge deck ever!
Interesting salon note - as an avid trawler fan, I’m nearly constantly mystified (disappointed!) by the designers’ insistence on bolt upright settee/sectionals - a la Grand Banks for instance. Yours looks much more comfortable.
I love your tastes ..the woodwork on the boat is stunning
Thank you so much! We were very fortunate that the beautiful wood is mostly timeless in design and in excellent shape when we bought the boat.
I love that boat, its absolutely beautiful
Love all of it. Great video.
Great to have you along - thanks!
Thanks for the tour! Awesome looking vessel.
Really appreciate that - cheers!
Very nice interiors and GA , nice one
Absolutely beautiful yacht guys amazing space, it is definitely making me consider buying the Marlow 58e versus my palm beach 60gt, I sent you a email but I think I did it wrong, I'm not computer literate lol. But again amazing yacht.
Hey Thomas - got your email address now so we'll be sending along a note in the next couple of days. Thanks, as always, for your kind words.
Another great video! Tim...great art!! AJ...like your thoughts on vacuflush and also love the fact that you can check oil on the DD's by simply opening the hatch door in the passageway! I have been lifting hatches for years and and going down into engine compartment or lying on the salon carpeting and reaching down inside...what a pain that is!! Looking forward to engine rooms tour. Our best to you both.
Thanks, as always George. The boat we almost bought was bigger and had a full walk-through ER and full access all around. Since we were compromising on that with OLOH, at least having simple access for daily checks was critical to us. And while it's a tight squeeze on the outboard sides of the engines we can really get to everything without too much difficulty. Cheers to you guys!
Thanks for the tour of the boat! So cool. I told my partner Shawn all about your channel. I'm trying to get him to watch too. ;)
Well now that you've seen the boat, tell Shawn that our next video gets us back out on the water so hopefully he'll join in the fun!
@@OLOH I will tell him then. Thanks for responding! haha I love it! :))
Stunning vessel!
Thanks so much Karen - much appreciated.
Here's a 'Small Boating World' connection for ya! When we bought/took possession of our current #Boogaboo, she was docked at a marina on the Rideau Canal in Ontario, Canada. The slip right behind our temporary accommodations (before trailering her to our Home Port) had been home to non other than the Searching for C-Shels crew! If interested, I'd invite you to take a look at one of my videos I shot there, while waiting for mother nature to allow us to launch/sea trial/haul and head home; ua-cam.com/video/zKdXUZPxCMw/v-deo.html.
That's awesome - what a great story. And yes, it can be a small world! We look forward to checking out that video. Cheers!
We had our boat on the Rideau canal, meet the owners of C-Shel in Brockville, Ontario. I believe their boat got stolen? I wondered if it was the same boat in the video. 🇨🇦
Another great video!
Thanks so much Stephen!
Very nice now lets get the engines fired up and go somewhere.
And that is the plan! Thanks, as always, for your kind comments and for being along for our Adventures. Cheers!
At 8min it was noted - the admirals comment “I’m the dipstick” and yes I did laugh
Ha! Glad somebody finally said something about that!!
Think about installing “hide-a-hose” systems where your central vacuum inlets retract the hose into the tubing… they work great in our home…
Great suggestion - thanks!
Your suggestions would definitely help, I definitely would like to have space but I also want to do the great loop I know there are limits for that journey but I don't want to be cramped
you have TWO offices! one in the captain's lounge and one in the salon! get rid of the one in the salon and use that space to expand the kitchen! put in a standard range (oven and stovetop all in one) where your current mini dishwasher is, and make the area to the right of your fridge more galley counter space and put a full-fledged dishwasher in there!
Make the captain's lounge more office-friendly! no point in having two!
Thanks so much for watching and for your comments. We have considered options similar to what you've mentioned and working with the space to the right of the fridge continues to be something we're looking at. The reality is, we really enjoy having a workspace on the main deck (that view) and something there would be tough to give up. The desk area in the Captain's Lounge, while occasionally used for work, is mostly for storage. It's tough being below decks when it's beautiful outside. But we're not done yet and we'll be sure to post about what we do. Cheers!
Lekker man lekker
😎
How long have you and Tim been together? 13 years for us!
OLOH🥳🥳🥳🥳🍾🥂👍🤟🏽👏🏽
Cheers Hector!
Nice tour! Will you'll ever do a yearly cost/expenses of OLOH ? Thanks
Hey Kevin - not in the works at the moment but we've added it to our "request" list. Thanks for the suggestion & cheers!
We are looking at a 60 jefferson and love the tours you have given. We have a 70 lbs standard poodle. How does jasper get down from cockpit?
Hi Cindy - what year Jeff are you looking at? OLOH has stairs to all levels. The stairs from the lower helm to the bridge are a bit steeper than normal which is why Jasper came to look at the boat with us. Once he showed us he could negotiate them without issue we moved forward. If you want, reach out to us at ahoy@myoloh.com. We're happy to try to answer any and all questions. Cheers!
We just bought a Jefferson 53 , 2003. So love seeing your mods. Our boat is moored in Roche Harbor Washington. You may like watching our video “Relaxing in Roche Harbor “… Pat
Congrats Patrick - awesome boat! We look forward to checking it out.
Those 2 lounge chairs that you have on the back of the boat what brand are those? They look like they folded up and store well?
By the way you both have a vary nice boat. Just started to watch your Chanel.
You would not happen to have a video of the process for smaller state room renovation that was complete?
Thank you Joe - we're so glad to have you along. We typically shoot video when we take on a project like the guest stateroom renovation but I'm not sure that we did in this case. At some point we'll be posting a video with some of those types of projects and will include it if we have footage.
Those chairs do fold up and stow nicely. We'll try to locate the brand and source and if we are successful we'll post the info at myoloh.com/oloh-tv-your-vip-tour-part-3/
I have vacuflush, good to know of a good alternative, thanks.
You got it. It wasn't a simple job but the replacement was something we were able to take on ourselves.
Beautiful boat! Definitely be looking at the same brand when the time comes! Where did you teach Jasper to go to the bathroom? We have two 🐶! How often do you do the bottom paint since you seem to always be moving Oloh and what’s the cost for that service?! Thx, enjoy the Bahamas 🇧🇸
Thanks Scott! We really appreciate the kind words.
Jasper is very good about waiting until there is an opportunity to go ashore. We keep our cruising days to a comfortable amount of time for him and always stay at marinas or at anchorages where we know we can easily land the tender several times a day so he can do what needs to be done at comfortable intervals. All that said, most dogs can be trained at any age to go on board in a designated spot and we'd like to do that so we can more easily and safely spend more time at anchor.
We did fresh bottom paint about 2.5 years ago and it has done well with touch up for now. We are planning to take the whole bottom down and start fresh which is obviously a much bigger job, but it's due. For a normal, two coat job by a good yard in Fort Lauderdale, the all-in bottom paint number is around $5K. That's with around $2K in paint for the bottom and running gear, haulout and all labor. We've had good luck with Petit Barnacle Barrier on our gear so we are not using PropSpeed which is much more expensive.
Thank you for the response and I look forward to more videos! Stay safe:)
Floor sounded like it was squeaky in the passageway between the engines.
Yes - a little bit. The sole of the passageway is comprised of several removable access panels and the larger of them have a bit of a squeak that we haven't bothered to mitigate. The water tank occupies the majority of that space.
How much did the Boat cost? I think it would be a great video talking about evreything you had upgraded and how much it costed you.
Hi guys, great channel. If you ever get up to the Northeast (Narragansett Bay area) I know some great bars / restaurants. I was wondering what you use for cameras / editing software to make your vlog?
Thanks David! We do hope to return to that area next year.
We shoot most of our stuff on GoPro and iPhone, editing it most of it lately on LumaFusion.
@@OLOH Thanks! When you get up to the Northeast, shoot a message my way, multiple great destinations on Narragansett Bay!
Can you send your hardware out and have it re-plated in chrome? I also suspect on the handles that the "bar" between the two attach points can be removed and swapped out with something.
Hey Bob - yeah, we've looked into that a bit but we're trying a few other options first including doing something like that ourselves which we'll be experimenting with this summer. We've ordered a few different latches that appeared to be an exact match from the specs but didn't ultimately work without modifications. There are so many of them so we're doing our best to keep it as simple as possible (few things on boats are simple).
We had the same thought about the handles but that's been challenging as well - and the Admiral is a master sourcer with parts. But we'll get it figured out eventually.
Cheers!
When traveling from New York to Florida would be nice if you could tell us all the marinas to stop at with the phone numbers on the way down I know you have to make reservations
Thanks for the great suggestion Walter!
Where do you guys sleep?
What is your bridge clearance on OLOH?
With our VHF antennas down we can clear 24'. 35' with them up.
My girlfriend and I want to know how did you pick your boat name, what does it mean and how does your dog go to the bathroom?
Jasper is very good about waiting until there is an opportunity to go ashore. We keep our cruising days to a comfortable amount of time for him and always stay at marinas or at anchorages where we know we can easily land the tender several times a day so he can do what needs to be done at comfortable intervals. All that said, most dogs can be trained at any age to go on board in a designated spot and we'd like to do that so we can more easily and safely spend more time at anchor.
As for the boat name, we leave you with this clue... 🎶Let's get together and feel alright🎶
Got it?
@@OLOH got it indeed and thank you for the response. We love the videos!
Since my breakup with my x I can now live my dream and live on a boat full-time that's why I'm looking for yacht that is in that range where I can eventually travel by myself since my x boyfriend did not want to do it
