The Space Coast to Our New Marina in Titusville + More Surprises After Escaping Boatyard! E176
Вставка
- Опубліковано 14 гру 2022
- We finally get out of the boat yard and make our way up the coast to our new home port in Titusville. We stop in West Pam and Fort Pierce along the way. And we discover that the mechanics broke our air conditioning manifold and caused a mysterious oil leak. We finally get to see a rocket launch when SpaceX sends some Starlink satellites into orbit. We are just across the Indian River from Caper Canaveral and the view is incredible!
I love the way your videos are done. Lots of info and lots of motoring views. Your camera work is top notch. I’ve been a subscriber since the beginning and you are still my favorite channel. My wife and I are a little over a year away from our trip or trips. We sold our sea ray and we’re purchasing a hatteras 53 Keep up the great videos.
Thanks for joining us on this journey. And thanks for your comments on the videos. We try to improve a little bit each year. The 53 is a great boat. That is what we were looking for when we found our 58. Make sure you get stabilizers. These things are a bit top heaving.
Great video especially being in it havin diner with y’all. Can’t wait to meet up again. Cheers!
Hopefully we will be back in March and can meet up then!
Good marina
So, it seems that finding good people to work on your boat is somehow similar to the rest of us trying to find a good mechanic to work on our cars. :)
Exactly, just even pricier!
Enjoying watching your adventures. Since the wife and I are older now we just do restaurant cruising on our 22’ boat from our dock on little Sarasota bay fl. Out of “big” boating so your videos bring back many MOSTLY happy memories of cruising the ICW over 27 times. And spending a summer cruising Canada. Only cruised the Bahamas once. Wishing you many happy memories. And many blue skies and light winds. Irwin Hurwitz
Thanks for joining us on this adventure. We are hoping to make it to Sarasota this July. We'll see! Still in the Bahamas right now.
I love that little place under the bridge.
Great place to watch rocket launches!
Awesome
Nice couple! Great boat!
Thanks!
Welcome to Titusville!!
Thanks!
Reminds me why I do everything myself. I paid a clown to build my house, after that experience I just do everything myself. Thanks for video, wet night in the north east.
I should have done it myself. I was trying to save time and it cost me a lot of money.
Kudos on how you’ve developed into a capable boat owners and Captain, mate. Behind from Philly, love your taste in music.
Thanks. Just learning as we go along.
Definitely a great way to see & feel the launches hope all is well cheers 🛥🚀🏝🥃🍻
They are! We are doing great! Back in Philly now.
Your new HomePort looks nice and wish you the best of luck there.... Never dull moment huh?... I think the term used, after going to that previous Marina where they did the repairs is, "getting hosed". Big time...
I know you're glad to be out of there..
Skol..🥂🍸🍸
Yes, I wish I did the work myself. I was trying to save time and it cost me.
i just across your channel....Perhaps I shouldn't be so blunt but.........I LOOOOOOOOVE IT....AND BOTH OF YOU!!!!
Thanks for joining us on the journey!
Rocket launch is on our bucket list!
We have seen about 6 so far.
Great to see Triton in her new home Marina! Also always great to hear my name when Lyn relives her source of PTSD! 😅
Yes, you are in most of her nightmares! 😁
@@tryingnottosink9107 And some of good ones too, I’m sure! 🧐
🤣
Welcome to Brevard County! I'm in Melbourne, just south of you.
Thanks! Cheers!
Great Video. Your neighbors on Salty Lady seem really cool, and what a beautiful Motor Yacht Salty Lady appears to be. Looks also like a 56 or 58?
Yes, they are great people! I believe it is a 63. It is a beautiful boat.
Good luck with your new home port definitely better than Pier 5. Plus you will have a place to go to escape the cold weather up here in Philly. 👍👍
It is definitely better then Pier 5! Still, we will miss having the boat nearby in the winter.
That docking skills @ approx 1:00 - hard to argue with that! You guys have it nailed at this point!
Aunty Lyn and Uncle Ed... I can't wait for the next season. This episode was a bit melancholy especially at the end, knowing it closes things out for now. Boat repair bummers.....But that's life on the water. Thanks for continuing to share your boating adventures!
I am sure everyone is waiting for your Roger Out score for this episode. This episode is particularly tricky to score...
The 15:01 Roger Out.... Yikes, that's painful :-(
15:30 Roger Out... still feeling your Pain :-(
20:38 would have been the PERFECT opportunity for a Roger Out and bumped you up 3 or 4 points! But we didn't get it. I have no choice but to deduct 1.5 points here.
So we have two Roger Outs, without enthusiasm, however. And then a huge, missed Roger Out opportunity at the end.
Your scoring synopsis: A 5.1, a 5.6 and then a negative 1.5 points. Which = a total Roger Out score of only 4.3 for this episode.
We look forward to the next season! Merry Christmas, everyone! Roger out!
We still have many more videos to post. Repairs, budgets, and a few surprises.
My whole family lived on the space coast from Daytona to Melbourne... Titusville is the land were time forgot
Safe travels, 🙏
Scott
Thanks.
Luv your videos. I grew up around peanut Island which was just across from Sailfish Marina. Looks like the boat has a great new home and I look forward to seeing more videos
And by the way, we all end up drinking too much in Fort Lauderdale. It’s always a good time
Very cool! Thanks for watching!
Love the Sailfish Marina on Singer Island. When we fly the boss into that area we always have lunch there at least once. They have the best conch chowder! So cool to watch a rocket launch. I was flying to the Bahamas and the controller asked if we wanted to see the Space Shuttle takeoff. Of course we said yes and he turned us and we could see the entire launch. The Shuttle passed thru our altitude very quickly and we could actually see the solid rocket boosters when they fell off and descended to the ocean. I was lucky to have my camera in the cockpit that day.
That sounds like a really cool experience! We see several launches every week in Titusville. They are best at dusk, when the sun shine from the east on a cloudless day.
Yes it is so hard to get good reliable help these days.
Cheers!
Cheers!
Love watching your adventures! My favorite boating channel out there!! (other than mine 😉)
I like both of you guys!!!!
Wow, thanks! Best wishes with your channel!
We live due West from Titusville on the Gulf Coast and drive over there all the time, Beautiful area!
It sure is!
Cheers,
Rik Spector
Cheers!
Nice work well done - Ed’s hands look like a real boaters cut bruises and grease, that’s how you save money - Kind Regards “Roger Out”
Thanks! We save a fortune doing our own work, when possible.
I'll be down that way next Thursday night getting ready for my cruise that leaves Friday
We will be on the Liberty Friday as well. We will be the ones wearing Buffalo Bills gear Saturday watchin the game.....and at the craps table till 4am. 🎉😂
@@FloridaYachtInsuranceGuy cool we are doing our 1st NCL cruise going on the newest ship to them NCL Prima for Christmas. we have always done carnival but with all there cut backs we are going to try other lines and see if we like them better
@@kenmay4468 Taking the family so carnival was more "economically" viable..lol have fun! see you in Senor Frogs tomorrow in the Bahamas...lol
@@kenmay4468 I just got back from a 6 day cruise on the Prima. A few tips - get on board as early as possible and book your meals and get entertainment reservations ASAP. Everything is booked solid by the time the ship leaves port. When you get to your cabin play the safety video and let it run through, you won't have any TV menu functions until you do this. 3333 is the phone number to receive messages, they will leave you several messages throughout the trip. The wifi was horribly slow but I think that was due to a travel agent convention onboard. If you have a balcony cabin be aware many of them don't have privacy, they are set back and overlook pool and sunbathing areas. The rooms and bathrooms were some of the best we have seen for the money. If you have any questions let me know and enjoy your trip :)
Enjoy the trips everyone. Wish we were with you. We almost jumped on a cruise last week but decided to stay back and do boat chores instead.
I’m interested to see how you handle the move from home base in Philly to splitting time between family and other ties in Philly and your boat life based in FL. My wife and I are going through what’s, in many ways, a similar move. It’s a complicated and interesting process.
The worse part is not having the boat close by. We enjoyed our weekends on the boat, even in the winter. We have a lot of friends in Philly, and I expect we will not be seeing nearly as much of them as we would like.
Going to be camping in Titusville in April. Hoping to see a launch right from the campground. 😁
They launch several times a week now. I am sure you will see one.
Hello from Siesta Key Florida
Hello there! We have friends that live down there, Jerry and Chris.
I would love to see a rocket lift off. They are building a new SpacePort in Scotland so I might have to go up once its done. That was an expensive episode. Have a great Christmas and Happy New Year.👍👍
We see about three every week in Titusville. They are best at dusk, when the sun is shining from the east, on a cloudless day.
@@tryingnottosink9107 Nice. 👍👍
good stuff you guys! Looking forward to new adventures. Maybe some west coast (naples, tpa/st pete) action? whatever it is, I’ll be tuned in. thx!!!
Perhaps this Spring we will cruise the west coast!
Thanks for watching!
Cool I live about 30 minutes south of Titusville!!
We did the Cocoa Santa Pub Crawl on Saturday and had a blast!
@@tryingnottosink9107 That’s Awesome!
I thought I recognized your boat. I'm on the B dock as well.
We just left the marina yesterday. We'll probably be back in March.
Guys, great job as always. I love how cool you are about getting hit with $8k bill. I just replaced 7 zones on my boat. But, did I with my son. And, was able to convert my split systems to CTM self-contained. What a PIA? You all be safe and Merry Xmas.
PS/ Sailfish Marina is a nice place. We go there all the time by tender. Our slip is in RBM.
We replaced one of our split units with a self contained unit and are very happy with it. The hardest part was running the water lines. We have been to Sailfish many times as well. Great place.
Yep, seawater hoses were a challenge. I have one more cabin to complete but it’s the crew quarters, they are not that important. 😂
Love your video! My family and I live in Titusville very close to your marina. If you ever need someone to help watch over your boat...or if you need a hand with any maintenance projects, message me. I would be glad to help out. I used to keep a 38' sailboat at that marina years ago. Jon
Thanks. I appreciate the offer. We are happy to be in Titusville. Still getting to know the place, but having fun meeting locals and exploring the restaurants and bars.
CHEERS
Cheers!
Titusville..an old stomping ground when I lived in Orlando. Laid back. Pier 220 is a fave and their Freaky Tiki drinks. Yummo. The night launches are the best indeed! Good to see the Triton has a new safe harbor home for now. I hope to see a Live cast soon. Merry Ho Ho Captain Sperrys and miss Lyn girl. Enjoy your Holidays! We love you two! Hugs from Jersey.😎😘😘
We have been to 220 many times, as well as every other bar in town! They are launching several times a week now. If we don't see them, we can definitely feel them. We will probably do a live cast between Christmas and New Year. Cheers!
Your in Florida now.
Bottom cleaning every 3-4 months use a good diver.
Wax from the sun is everything. You,ll see
Carry one crew.
We have a diver cleaning the bottom every month. We haven't waxed yet. Probably not until Spring.
So you Left me with the Question you dint finish saying if that Disputation Pipe Worked or Not You Have Come a Long ways Since the Days of Bad Audio and a Certain Second Mate Trying to Sink the Ship lol Great Vlog Have a Safe Flight and trip Thanks
Yes, the distribution manifold worked perfectly. Thanks for checking in. Enjoy the holidays!
We try to improve the videos a little bit each year. Just wish I had more time to spend on them. They are never really finished, just abandoned.
@@tryingnottosink9107 Your Vlogs are Fine now the Sound and Pic are Great Nothing to Worry over that and always love the Content thank you Both
I know you dock bow first ,you said your shore power connection is on the bow, does the boat have a retractable power cord system ? Merry Christmas !
Yes, we have retractable cables for both our 50amp lines. Plus we can connect regular cables on both sides of our boat as well.
I wonder why I see one of your antennas laying down all the time - thinking it might be your SSB antenna which you probably don't use much. Sorry about the bad experience at Broward.
I noticed when you were sitting at the bar in Ft. Pierce , there was a sushi neon sign . Did you have any and wss it any good ? I’m nosey about that stuff , budding foodie/cruiser .
No, we did not try the sushi. It looked good though.
When was this video taken? Are you back in Fl?
In July. Yes, we are currently in Titusville.
Do you have any issues with insurance through hurricane season?
lol ED owns an insurance company...I doubt it
Not so far. I just have a higher deductible if I am damaged in a named storm. However, there are rumors that my company, Gieco, is dropping boats like mine. I renew is February.
Retired New Zealander that spent biggest part of my working life as an engineer and involved with anything from farm, mining to marine engineering your job would have been little more than 8-10hr job, I found that anything to do with marine people think that it's time to stick it to the owners for as much as they can get away with, even now days the Labor figure would have been $800 max
That is what we figured as well. I wish I had just done it myself. Live and learn.
So how close to real time is this video?
It was shot in July.
Roger out
Roger that!
AND MORE DAMN YANKEES MOVING SOUTH...... But, I like you two!
Is that the Titusville Municipal Marina?
Yes.
$6.38 forr diesel!
We paid under $4 this year.
You got milked!
Those mechanics sound like scammers typical Ft. Lauderdale & Miami BS! They probably have a relationship with the boat yard/ marina.
Yea u got robbed
Still wondering if you were a Republican politician and your feelings regarding the current state of the GOP.
I'm My opinion, it's nothing about them that indicates they are Republicans. But regardless, it shouldn't matter. Just enjoy the content . I'm a Democrat, but if I found out they were Republicans it wouldn't matter. And it shouldn't matter. I would still watch their channel
I think we should leave politics out of it. The last thing I want to hear on a great channel like this is anything to do with politics... So why ruin it...
I’m a Republican, and it wouldn’t matter to me what they are. They are nice ppl having fun and enjoying what we all enjoy, being on the water.
Yes, we do keep politics off the channel. But I will say this; I believe politics should be practiced the way Ronald Reagan and Tip O'Neil di it. Fight for what you believe in, but at the end of the day, drink bourbon and play cards together. I'll leave the political fight for other channels and enjoy the bourbon and cards on this one.
@@tryingnottosink9107 My last political comments. 🥹 I voted for Clinton first go around. Back then he was a moderate. Now, just pure socialist…😏😬
Lynn suggestion on the video turn the gain down on the music. It way too loud!
What part of the video was it to loud? I try hard to watch for stuff like that.
