Lastly I just had to say that I love how thin the neck is and how good the fret finishing is. I’m older and have arthritis in my hands in my old age and this neck is effortless for me to get my hand around and fret chords without being in pain. The Fender Stratocasters and Telecasters I own have much thicker necks and have got to the point I can barely play them anymore. Because of this Yamaha, I’m able to play as good as I did in my early 20’s again!
Went to my local guitar store today to see the Yamahas, they had factory reps there to answer any questions. Fell in love with the color, the pups, locking tuners. It is an incredible guitar and for just under 1k. Sounds amazing!
I liked the middle position too, sounds unique. I don’t think the P90 sounded thin, it’s got a 70’s vibe to it. Great backing track, right up my street. Thanks Jonathan for another great demo. 👍
I finally got my Yamaha Pacifica 611VFM in Root Beer color 3 days ago and it really is the best guitar 🎸 I’ve ever owned including American 🇺🇸 Deluxe Stratocasters! And I’ve been playing for nearly 30yrs. You don’t realize what incredible quality Yamaha Pacificas have until you actually play one. I wish I had played one decades ago. They are no longer just budget friendly beginner guitars. They are also budget friendly but incredible quality professional guitars and in my opinion put Fender to shame as far as what they give you for your money.
Terrific playing, as always. I own one of these in black. Absolutely wonderful guitar, one of the best I've ever owned. Plays and sounds great, the built quality is outstanding, and the Duncans sound unreal. The Custom 5 is one of my favorite pickups of all time, and since getting this guitar I love what P90s can do for the neck. I was never a fan of P90s in the bridge, but in the neck they had wonderful new tonal dimensions. Superb guitar. Great value.
The P-90 in this has a more Fender like tone to it than the 612. The 612 single coils sound harsh an brittle but this P-90 is right between the sound of a Tele and a Strat. Very useable sounds!
I almost bought the fire red 2021 612viifmx but ended up buying trans black 611 hfm. Cant wait for it to arrive. Its going to pair well with my black bb434 bass
This one is not a beginner guitar though. Even the 112V I put a seymour duncan on it and I see myself playing it for years...amazing guitar for the price
Hi Jonathan, I went to order one of these today after watching this video a couple of times and I think the one you're holding is actually called 'Tobacco Sunburst'. The one that's called 'Caramel Brown' is much more reddish in colour and flamed maple-looking. Just in case anyone is confused ordering.

This is the first Pacifica sound wise that caught my Ear... How ever you said it Seymour Duncans!!! Tortise Shell Pickguards not my cup of Tea it if was a 3 play Black White Black it would look classier. With that said though Jonathon you always get a great sound and excellent playing... I'm looking to get into guitar! I was looking to the Pacifica for a first guitar, but would the neck width present a problem for a new player? I have long-ish hands (19.7cm from palm to tip of middle finger).

It's not Caramel Brown, it's Tabacco Sunburst!!! I'm gonna buy one in the near future, because I want to have a guitar with a P90 pick-up in it. After checking a lot here and there I came to this guitar aldo I already have 19 guitars number 20 could be this one, all the specifications on this guitar look good to me, the Seymour Duncan pick-ups have a good reputation, the push pull knob is a must have. The Wilkinson tremolo is also a very good brand. But I'm still doubting about the colour, maybe the Translucent Black and your right about the back colour of the neck. Happy playing and I maybe gonna look some more video's from you.

I like the sound of the P90 and feel the pack would give a bit more versatility. I am a beginner, with an inclination to buying the right thing from the start, so Yamaha would fit the bill with the SDs and overall brand name components and build quality, but the sound seems a bit thin for my liking. I generally like warm sounds, I would be playing blues, pop, country, and maybe more, but not much shredding and hard stuff. Thanks for reading and looking forward to your feedback.
I just received this guitar yesterday. Beautiful instrument, but why the very narrow neck? I can't get used to a narrow neck, too tight. I love my metal strats with wide flat necks, much more room to maneuver. Why would they make guitars with narrow necks (nut width)? Don't get it...

Ciao Jonathan, sto pensando di acquistare questa chitarra..che impressione hai avuto tu...? Sono indeciso su la 611 e la revstar 502...cosa pensi dei queste chitarre?
That’s the third Yamaha on my wish list now. Personally, I like having a brighter thinner tone on the bridge. I think this is a really interesting and unique pickup setup. I kind of wish that Yamaha had done something a little different with the body shape, but it does look nice. As always, Jonathan’s playing is so inspiring. Do you have any recorded material that can be downloaded?
I’m in the same boat. I just bought the incredible 611 but I’d still like to have a 612 and the recently discontinued and rare 510v that has the single Seymore Duncan P Rail Humbucker that is a splittable P90 and hot rail combined in one. It was exclusively made for the Yamaha 510v and is the only way you can get that incredible pickup.
The neck is exactly why I prefer this over any Fender. I have Donald Trump sized hands though. Also, my P90 is too thick sounding which was the opposite experience of what you had. I wonder how much this has to do with the pickup height. I have yet to dial in the pickup height on the P90. At first I wanted to swap in a Gibson P90 but I will experiment with the string height.
I've said this before. Take any Yamaha 611 or 12. Change the small pots for large and have it professionally set up. Do nothing else and you'd have a hard time buying a better guitar at 3 times the price.

Thank you for your kind comments! ...No... i dont have recorded materials✌♥
@@Xcorgi ??? Those pickups are available anywhere both on the net and physical shops actually...
It’s true.. just try playing around and experimenting before you commit to a pickup change✌️❤️

What guitar amp do you used in this video??
No amps.. just the Helix Native from line 6✌️❤️

I've said this before. Take any Yamaha 611 or 12. Change the small pots for large and have it professionally set up. Do nothing else and you'd have a hard time buying a better guitar at 3 times the price.

I got one of these…
