    Mad respect to Yamaha for producing Pacificas and their Broad Basses. Apart from the million other instruments they produce, affordable, reliable but also with a soul.

    I've got a pacifica 112V that was my first electric. It's an awesome guitar and still one of my go-to's even though I have some guitars now that are much more expensive. It's just so versatile and feels like home. Highly doubt I'll ever get rid of it.

    The Pacifica revolutionized my life. Had the choice to get a BC rich Warlock bronze edition or a Pacifica 112 when i was a kid. I wanted the Warlock so bad but i chose the Pacifica. It was more comfortable and Bill Leverty of Firehouse played Pacificas. Now i have a 112, 812w, 914, 1221m, 1230s models. Absolutely love them and they are the most underrated guitar ever built.

    The funny thing is that people have been calling the Pacifica "under-rated" for like 30 years now LOL I had one for a bit with a George Lynch Screamin Demon pickup in it, was fun to play. Solid feeling chuncky neck in those, from what I remember it felt more of a Les Paul than a Stat. Great budget pick, about the only thing better for the money is the PRS SE series because those PRS can take the place of like 3 different guitar setups.

    • @BerserkerRider94
      @BerserkerRider94 2 місяці тому

      Happen to own both guitars. PRS SE and a Pacifica 611VFM gotta say they're the best bang for buck. I was considering a Les Paul Gibson but they're too expensive now a days and not to mention they do have the tendency to de-tune like a lot. no issues with the SE and the Pacifica.

    These guitars are insanely versatile. A true Swiss Army knife of a guitar, also high quality “upgraded” parts. It’s a no brainer. I sold 3 guitars after getting this one because it could do pretty much everything they could. I kept a few speciality guitars (jazzmaster, danelectro) and got rid of my fender strat and tele and a godin session. I will say the Godin was very close to the Yamaha and both are significantly better than my player series fenders.

    they're really not. They're better. the problem is in branding. The pacifica name is unfortunately attached to the "beginner guitar realm" which make most to consider it a starter instrument. Their new line is bonkers though and they have models for nearly every playstyle. The problem comes in the great guitars they have priced between $600-800 bearing the pacifica name. People who aren't really that informed (55% of people who buy guitars) would balk at paying that much for a pacifica.

    The Multiverse is real hence Déjà vu...
    We've all experienced it... it's something that sometimes resembles a dream you had or a place that you've never been to before and yet you feel like you have?! It's because that you exist on other planes or timeliness and crossover experiencing the same exact thing from a different multi verse It's kind of like when they collide or they interfere or intertwine with each other & all the possibilities.

    What I found with the pickups on this model, is the field is stable, albeit toned down so it doesn't go haywire. Compared to say an equivalent Ibanez, the pickups on those do tend to have alightly unstable pickup field, which isn't an entirely bad thing, it's the character of them. This Yamaha is mellow, but can rock out with no instability. Perhaps the subdued mellow pickup tones are a bit too stable. There's a fine line.

    I actually really like Yamaha instruments. I started off with a BB1025 bass as part of a trade for a Marshall bass amp in 2015 and really stuck to playing it in bands, recordings... followed on with a few more basses from vintage BB300/350 to the high end BBP Japanese basses, 4 + 5 string, spanning to guitars, including a AES guitars, a 'modern' LP design and a Pacific 1511MS that I really like (the "Tele" models are much better and sought after models, it seems) I've yet to try any of the 'strat' types as I'm not one for floating bridges but on paper and for the price, you can't seem to go wrong, if that's your thing.
    I think they're just awesome instruments, they clearly have an eye for detail and somehow make them affordable enough. I'd have a Revstar over a Gibson these days 😉🤘🏼

    To be honest, I did not really liked how the Pacifica's played and sounded when they came out in the 90's they came off as kind of cheep compared to there counter parts... as during that time there was a boom of 'super stratus' the Ibanez upwards during that time, felt and played way better to me.......
    Anyhow I do own a 70's yammer and pro bass from them that completely slays... but with any mass produced instrument line, most are duds then you come across thee one, love it and make it yours I guess....
    Anyhow the 90's was a long time ago and I'm a grump old git these days' and guitar manufacturing has jumped in leaps and bounds and getting hold of better hardware, massive CCN machines, that can bosh out any old Ikea set, in any shape you like on a dime is about...
    We live in exciting times for guitar kit, compared to when I was a kid and we had to make guitars from actual cats and old wooden shoe box that was left down mine.... aaaa them were the days lad I tell thee... lols

    I love Pacificas and have owned a number of them, along with other Yamaha models going back almost 40 years. My problem with the current Pacificas is with the trem models because they simply do not hold tune. The hardtail? Sure. Stays in tune fine. But the Wilkinson trem model does not. The issue is that it doesn't have the right kind of nut. It snags. Yamaha needs to fix this.

    • @daghetto101
      @daghetto101 2 роки тому +3

      Do you even go to a luthier during your 40 years of playing???
      They can set up your whole guitar as well as your trem to make it stay in tune when using the trem. With this 612 it has Wilkinson trem but it stays in Tune really well and it has Tusq nut as stock. What pacifica have you played??? If it is the cheaper models of course, dont expect them to stay in tune when using the whammy bar. But if you have those cheap models set up properly they can stay in tune when using the trem. Also upgrading the nut on every cheap or expensive guitar is always a thing.

    Great guitars, but be prepared to take a bath if you need to sell it. Had a beautiful 612VFM and a Revstar 720B, and could barely give them away when I had to unload them.

      I have a Pac 412 which I'm really starting to enjoy the sounds that can produce but I slightly agree mainly just the sharpness of the two horns or whatever you want to call it. Almost makes it look like it's going into BC Rich Warlock territory or something. I really want to get my hands on a second-hand revstar I love the look of those

    There are plenty of guitars better than a fender. But it’s not a fender. There’s something about having history in your hands.

    Hahaha Level 59 here. Answer to Q1. Because guitar is going through a Marshall… that’s why it sounds so ‘authentic.’
    Always buy a great amp FIRST and speakers inc. in a great cab.
    Will improve an inexpensive guitar, make majestic a good ‘un, and for the lawyer guitars: justify that expenditure of ‘rich as Croesus’ many £x,000s where instead could have almost satisfied N=G+1 👀☝🏻😜🤣. I contend 10 ✅⚠️🏁

    If a guitar is not a Fender Fat Strat or a Gibson SG....it is garbage. Ok...I really liked my Ibanez Satriani model with a british racing strip green finish but it got stolen. And even though Metallica sucks these days, EMG pickups are the best. Though I admit on one of my two Fat Strats(one I intentionally fucked up for a crazy tuning) I have an EMG humbucker and 2 S Duncan Hot Rails. Though they are rarely used.

    Biggest issue (apart from the ugly headstock) is the flat 13.75” radius neck. Totally different feel IMO

    I was in a small guitar shop in Japan looking for lefties. They had a lefty 112V for $315 and a used Fender Mustang for $285. I got the Mustang, played it for a year, and sold it for about $550. ON the other hand, the pawn shops are full of 112Vs going for about $100. There in lies the biggest problem with Yamahas: no resale value.

    • @TexanUSMC8089
      @TexanUSMC8089 3 роки тому +1

      What is resale value? It's popularity and perception. Some how Yamaha needs to market their guitars and make them cooler. When is the last time you saw a Yamaha guitar commercial?
