Thankyou for making these videos 😊 mygrandfather once owned your claim (he was the one selling it on the side of the road) he would be absolutly amazed that your making his dream a reality ❤❤
I'm so glad to have purchased a beautiful slab of ocean picture stone from you at a rock and gem show this spring 😮. Everyone who visits just loves looking at it, touching it and holding it up to the light. Nature is a beautiful artist 👍
Have to smile and say, Dan's voice and the excitement and inflection he uses makes me wish he narrated story books for children! It would be simply great! 😊😊❤
I would love to go rock digging, but where I live in Texas is all sugar sand! It was beachfront property several millions of years ago. I've had a couple of geology courses many years ago in college, which taught me enough to give me the rock hound bug!
Family fun in the nature/ artistic realm of beauty. Fun !! Living off the land .... harvesting beauty and making awesome jewelry for us all to remind us of the heart of nature which we would surely wear in faith and glory and the awe and sunshine of nature in all of it's glory
HOOOLY Evan has grown! Man, growing up I heard that a lot from family about myself but experiencing it first hand over a good 5 ish years is something else. Love the ocean picture stones too! Keep it up, Dan :)
You have a good kid, Dan. All around beautiful family you've got. All of the gold and gems in the world couldn't compare to how rich you must feel when you stand on your front porch looking in.
The chisels can be sharpened with a grinder, just keep it cool so it doesn't soften. Also, Be very careful, it looks like you have a stone angel in your garden.
I'm glad to see that you started being patient with the wedges, you'll get better results in the end. I've heard rocks crack after a couple of minutes on their own.
Hi Dan, Amazing material. You mentioned that with a soft host rock it will need to be stabilized and it’s easily done. What process do you use to stabilize rock so that it can be cut and polished? Thanks, really enjoying your posts. Steve
The last few minutes of this video with the rough cloud tops over the cut ocean picture stone are amazing!😳🙂 It’s a work of art in stone, nice one Dan!😉
Years ago I had a temporary job driving a belly dump from a quarry. Several times a I came up on quarry workers with a panning operation in between loading trucks...
Thank you! I am disabled and can’t chase rocks right now and watching you rock hound with your family is almost like being there! I live in Salem, Utah.
Dan you really hit a jackpot on that claim for sure. And i love seeing you and your family all working as a team. I do the same when i get ro go out tio
I appreciate how people post ideas and evryone respects all the thinking and weigh the pros and cons without being artogant pompous or angry. I worked in a university in pediatric genetics and the phd's were respectful like that. The even listened to the custodian on his ideas. Great minds work together!!!
Beautiful B.C.O.P.S! I love that feather-and-wedge music too! Looked like a great time with the fam as well! Great job Evan! 👍🏻 That big rock that took all of the time to cut, has to the the best slab you have ever shown. Those cumulonimbus clouds are absolutely perfect! An amazingly beautiful stone! WOW!
Old Disabled House Bound Dusty Rusty Rockhound here: I have a couple of pieces of jewelry from your ocean picture jasper! They are my favorites! Please keep it coming... because I want more!
Some of those cuts look like they were painted by Bob Ross. Also, happyto see the family tucking the pants into the socks to keep the ticks out. Nasty critters ticks are. We even have some ticks outeast that will make you allergic to red meat with 1 bite.
That last piece was absolutely beautiful love the bc picture stone videos there my favorites thank you dan for showing the world rock hounding can be so much fun
Great video Dan! I'm curious to know what brand your trail cameras are? I haven't seen one like that before. We have several at our property but they strap onto trees. Yours look like they stab into the ground?
I love these pieces so much, my grandma used to make paintings before she passed and the rocks that you find look so similar, it brings back good memories. Thank you for all the mazing content you put out! It always brightens up my day :)
Hey Dan have you tried using a gas powered masonry demo saw to remove the rock? You could saw along where you want it to break and then use the feather and wedges if the saw doesn’t break it. I think that would be a whole lot easier.
Cutting solid Chalcedony with that saw would take HUGE amounts of time. Yes it would get bigger pieces, but I would just have to break down those bigger pieces to cut anyhow..... Overall time to extract would go way up.
24:29 Imagine dropping some of these big samples in the bucket and thinking, :That's groceries for a month" .. "That's new tires for the SUV" .. "That will fill the beer fridge!" .. "There's all the new rock chisels I'll need for a year or two" .. etc etc :)
Time to buy Evin a dump truck start with a 4x4 six wheeler get him a triaxel dump truck as soon as he gets a Commercial Driver's License keep stocking up on Ocean Picture Stone get back in the truck Even !
You know Dan, I'm usually not jealous about anything, but whenever you are prospecting for BCOPS... I wish something like this would exist here as well. I really like a lot of gemstones, but Ocean Picture stone is just different. It's art by itself.
Thankyou for making these videos 😊 mygrandfather once owned your claim (he was the one selling it on the side of the road) he would be absolutly amazed that your making his dream a reality ❤❤
Sweet story! Thanks for sharing!

I think I know the perfect mother's day present! She'd love one of these.
Indeed. I too am tempted. Inclined. Makes a good Christmas gift for rock collector sibling. I need find store.
This is dangerously close to " shut up and take my money ! " Lol .
Absolutely gorgeous stuff there .
That's what I was sitting here thinking too!

17:08 looks like a stormy ocean scene! As an artist I love it. There is no better artist than mother nature.
Have to smile and say, Dan's voice and the excitement and inflection he uses makes me wish he narrated story books for children! It would be simply great! 😊😊❤
Nature is amazing who thought that hidden inside rocks was amazing natural art.
I would love to go rock digging, but where I live in Texas is all sugar sand! It was beachfront property several millions of years ago. I've had a couple of geology courses many years ago in college, which taught me enough to give me the rock hound bug!
Think that pendant @ 4:59 is the one you showed me in Courtenay. It is even more beautiful when seen in person.
Family fun in the nature/ artistic realm of beauty. Fun !! Living off the land .... harvesting beauty and making awesome jewelry for us all to remind us of the heart of nature which we would surely wear in faith and glory and the awe and sunshine of nature in all of it's glory
28:27 VERY good Plan Dan!!! due diligence!!!
HOOOLY Evan has grown! Man, growing up I heard that a lot from family about myself but experiencing it first hand over a good 5 ish years is something else.

as much as I like watching the gold panning I LOVE the mineral hunting!
Great finds and interesting to see the darker blue now
with these ocean picture stones you should look into getting into stores around tourist beach destinations
I need the one with the white clouds edge of the stone. Omg it was amazing
@26:22 that piece is freaking Gorgeous!!
Those blue rocks at the end of this video look like the Ocean around Australia!
A portable diamond saw could help you cut some of the choice stones to break the way you want prior to your feather and wedges
The beard we all knew and loved has returned!
Beautiful
I wish I was closer to you so I could attend the show! I’ll have to head to Arizona for the big gem and crystal show this year!
So much fun watching you guys hunt for the ocean picture stone! It’s like treasure hunting.
You have a good kid, Dan. All around beautiful family you've got. All of the gold and gems in the world couldn't compare to how rich you must feel when you stand on your front porch looking in.
Seconded!
Absolutely!
I love the sounds the feather and wedges make
The chisels can be sharpened with a grinder, just keep it cool so it doesn't soften.

That new darker blue is great! And a couple of those pieces had tide pools in them.
I'm glad to see that you started being patient with the wedges, you'll get better results in the end. I've heard rocks crack after a couple of minutes on their own.
That is so beautiful rocks. Great job on the finds

Beautiful! So happy for you. Thank you, Sir.
Some of those look like scenes from the big sky of the grand canyon, New Mexico, or states like wyoming and montana
23:02 I see you hammering and it reminds me of my youth, I use to be called lightning with a hammer….aka never hit same place twice..
7:29 All the stuff on the surface is like "free value" too .. no rock mining needed! ... Great find! :0)
That last piece dropped my jaw. Sooooo beautiful. Mother Nature sure is an awesome artist.
Perfect Sunday evening wine down 🤘🏿

Good critical thinking!
i know its "Ocean" picture stone, but that big slab at 28:11 looks like a photograph of the grand canyon!!!
the walls of the canyon sloping down, the bright blue sky, and giant puffy white clouds
Love the piece at 25:07 looks like there are little palm trees on the horizon
It really does look like palm trees on the horizon. I went back and zoomed in. Thank you.
AWESOME!
Incredible, and absolutely beautiful, so nice seeing your family enjoying the hunt.
