I thought he wasn't going to make a good Superman, gladly proven wrong. He's probably had the best characterization/storyline for Superman since Christopher Reeve! Superman & Lois has been pretty great so far! The pilot episode was something truly special!
I was septic about him (looking too old to be a young version but too young for a older version) with crossover of the Arrowverse but i become fan with the serie.
I saw the clip on UA-cam of Superman fighting Doomsday in the S3 finale, and had to go back and binge watch the whole series for the first time. I noticed that Tyler Hoechlin has more humanity to the Superman character, and especially in S3. And I know that his facial hair is his own mark on the whole Superman mythos. But it still bothers me that everyone can't tell the difference between Superman and Clark with glasses. And how he is able to change clothes just by leaping into the air or behind a car and he doesn't have a backpack like Spider-man does. Are we to believe he wears his cape and boots under his Clark clothes and then where does his clothes go when he is as Superman? This is why one of his powers as a alien should be shape shifting, and he has the ability to have a different face when he is Clark with glasses than when he is Superman. And some Kryptonian tech that his clothes can change like nano style from his Superman clothes to regular clothes.
That's his biggest superpower. xD I still don't understand how Lana don't recognise him when she took off some Kryptonyte fragments of his body (in season 2).
Despite not being exposed to the character much, he understands the character as well as any past Superman actor, if not more

I love how they separated themselves from the arrowverse with the characters being Doppelgangers.
