I just started a personal project to organize my digital photo storage, and I happened to stumble upon your content. I found it really helpful! Thank you so much for your guidance and passion in this often underrated skill! 😄☺☺
Have Win11 pc and it does just what you showed. I don't want photos put in separate folders by month. Just want them dumped from Iphone into a single folder on Win11 PC. Is that possible?? Thanks in advance for your help
Hi there - You could just copy all of the folders over to your computer at once but that doesn't get them into a single folder. And. . . the connection can stop coping and you have no idea what has copied and what hasn't. Also. . . having thousands of photos in a single folder can be be very slow to scroll through. If you really want them all dumped in one folder, I think you could install Microsoft OneDrive on your phone and then sync them to your computer . . . but that can be problematic as well. Dropbox might work as well. Hoping this helps! Cheers! Mollie
Hi Rob - this is so annoying. I have worked on PCs where a prompt comes up to buy a 99 cent codec from the Microsoft Store and that works well. Have you changed your settings on your phone to transfer photos in a compatible format? Sometimes, still a HEIC file sneaks through even with that setting. Here's an additional video talking about converting HEIC files: ua-cam.com/users/liveAvayodJli5g?si=mUC-6OAmX5_ph3Y0 I hope some of this. helps. Cheers! Mollie
Hi there Sheila - How frustrating. . . Under your Photos Settings, at the bottom, you should have "Automatic" checked under Transfer to Mac or PC. I'm thinking you may have already checked this but that is the most important setting. Sometimes, I have clients who just have to convert their HEIC files to JPGs on their computers. Here's a clip from another video if you want to know more about that: ua-cam.com/users/liveAvayodJli5g?si=xlH_HqhbcS86DUOx&t=675 Let me know how it goes. Cheers! Mollie

7:08 what iOS are you on? I’m in 17.6.1 and I don’t see that “optimize iPhone storage” opinion hmm weird
Hi Richard - I'm on 17.6.1 as well. Are you in the Photos Settings? That's where it is.
Cheers!

My problem in transferring from iPhone to PC is the HEIC photos. Windows cannot open this file type.
