I never attempt to talk ppl out of unhauling books but I do feel compelled to make a comment as far as Twin Crowns goes.. I haven’t read and enjoyed YA fantasy in a very long time but I also received that beautiful fairyloot edition and decided I had nothing to lose and gave it a shot.. I could not believe how much I enjoyed that story. I think that Twin Crowns really shines bright in a sea of YA fantasy and is worth the read if you ever do decide to pick it up!
Having read both Iron Widow and Zachary Ying, im happy to see you're keeping their books!! I personally really enjoyed both of them, though I have seen some valid criticism of Iron Widow in terms of pacing. The middle-grade is described as Percy Jackson-esque which really intrigued me and is definitely a very good description of the book, I'd definitely recommend it to all Percy Jackson fans
I did a brutal unhaul about 6mos ago. I now have a manageable TBR with about 8 that are “read it or unhaul it” this year. All the books I have other than that is stuff I value keeping
Spring cleaning early is satisfying. LOL. We've started that too, only with furnature and tarot decks. Lately so many books, I feel especially in fantasy, lack 'real feeling characters' and I just feel nothing, which is frustraiting because in general fantasy is the best. Bellatrix L
you’ve really motivated me to unhaul some books that i’ve kept through other unhauls for a while despite having owned them for like up to 5 years and that i haven’t picked up. so what are the odds i’ll pick them up now when i haven’t been interested for half a decade already 😭
Proud of you for this! I need to do one last unhaul before I move into my flat next month. I've already been pretty brutal but now I know I can go even further and only keep my absolute favourites!
You did it! 🥳 it was very satisfying to watch you get rid of so many and I hope your chair is empty now!! 😂 still looking forward to reading Skandar (thank you again!) x
Aww so glad you kept godkiller. It would have been nice to see you putting the new books on shelves and organising on, that would have be fun. Thanks for the video really enjoyed it 😊
ngl it's soooo hilarious to me that you have a manga TROLLEY lmaoooo. My manga TBR barely fits in my trolley (which I think is similar to yours) and I have a billy filled to the brim because I'm unhinged like that hahaha
Thanks for this video! I hope you had a Merry Christmas and will have a Happy New Year as well. You are doing an unhaul and I just bought some 75 books (all middle grades) for my library and should be getting them all by the end of January (book-buying ban now for the next year). I'm not home, though, so I will see them in a few months. As much as I love the books I got, I'm sure there will be a major unhaul soon enough, and I can't wait for it. I love unhauls so much! If I get rid of books, I am gonna sell them because I can't afford giving away everything, but I still love watching these... Anyway, congrats on being able to unhaul so many books! Can't wait for the next video already! Love you much!!!
I have only purchased E-Books for the last 10 years so I have over 3000 E-books in my library. Fortunately they sit on the Kobo server and not on my hard drive so I dont need to do any pruning. But yes there are quite a few E-Books in my library that I would like to get rid of.
@@Jadeyraereads I do understand that. I cancelled mine a while ago but I kind of miss it and I read more YA than you still. Maybe I should get on the waitlist again 😅
Do you have room in your bedroom for a bookshelf or 2. I know quit a few people who put their physical TBR on shelves in their office or bedroom and then once the books are read move them to their book room/library. I luckily still have access to my bedroom at my parent's house, so I have the majority of books I haven't read at my apartment and the books I have read at my parent's house.
I quite liked City of Dusk, actually. It kinda reads as crossover? And seems like it'll get more Adult in the sequels. I was also surprised by how much I liked Belladonna, but I'm convinced it's mostly from how good the audiobook narrator was. Hands down my best audiobook of 2022. If you liked the dynamic between Vasya and Morozko in the Winternight trilogy, it's got similar vibes here. Spinning Silver is arguably the better book, but even though Uprooted is by far messier, it also stuck with me a lot more (caveat: my personal canon is that the only romance in this book is the one between the best friends and you CANNOT CHANGE MY MIND, lol). The only book you got rid of that I would absolutely vouch for is _The Space Between Worlds._ The Space Between Worlds was my favourite book of 2021. It's a really nuanced look at trauma (mostly relationship abuse from a family member or partner), queerness, racism, privilege, small acts of kindness, and the heirarchy of power. It critiques capitalism under the lens of a post-scarcity society (always love me an eat-the-rich plotline) and has fairly high prose throughout. One of the things I loved most was how the themes were mirrored in the different plotlines and relationships, but each was tweaked so it felt like we got a really thorough development and perspective instead of viewing everything through a single framework. It may not be for everyone and it's not a light read, but I was floored that it was a debut. I can't wait to re-read it!
Think I spotted Evernight on one of your shelves and personally thought it was pretty meh. Idk much about your taste but I would personally say unhaul it.
Love the brutality! Maybe try to do a Try a chapter tag for some of these, because you were sounding a bit hesitant with some TBR books I really enjoyed The last bear by Hannah Gold, but it is contemporary, so don't think you will enjoy it
You did amazing with the brutality! I was wondering, will we get to see you reshelving the new books? or at least get to know what new books you got? have a great day Jade ☺️
I’m reading The Winter Garden and enjoying it atm but I’m pretty sure you wouldn’t like it - set in the 19th century, quite magical but really quite historical too 🤷🏼♀️ interesting to see what the rest of your patreons think 😊
Already basically watched this but you bet I’m watching again. Also I literally finished Uprooted last night and I feel like it would probably be a 3 star for you (same with Spinning Silver). I do think you’d like Temeraire
Good on you for not reading Ready Player One. I wish I had done the same when I had the chance, that stupid book is awful unless you like reading Lists Of Things People Are Nostalgic For.
Fairyloot must be CRYING. You got rid of so many xD Yes! Get rid of Ready Player One! It was trash, but that's just me I think. Well done on your giant stack!
Hope you had an amazing Christmas Jade, I think I need to take a serious leaf out of your book and do a brutal unhaul. I have a shed load of books in an unhaul pile already, I have already donated 100+ books to a local school but my books are still out of control. Especially after a 9 book shopping haul today 😳🫢. It needed doing though, the buying that is. Shit me though I need to get some books gone x
There's something really satisfying about watching unhaul videos 😅😅
Agreed! 😍
The nice thing about being a teacher is that there are things that I can just take to my classroom for the classroom library.
Yes to brutality. And I'm here for the "less YA fantasy" era we are both entering ❤
Rehoming books for young people is a special good deed. :D
“A fairy loot book…it’s very pretty” became your catchphrase. I love a brutal unhaul, I bet it felt good afterwards

The Girl who fell beneath the sea is literally my favourite book eveeerrrrrr

If you ever get a contemporary prompt on a readathon The First Rule of Punk is absolutely adorable.
I got that one on my shelf, I really want to read it next year!
@@BizzlMix I hope you love it as much as I did! :)

If you love Alex Bell's whimsy fantastical writing style and darker new adult fantasy I highly suggest reading The Winter Garden.
Meg from Meg With Books read Belladona recently and hated so it’s up to whether you want to keep it or not 😊
Omg yes I hope you enjoy your pan! I have always asked for a Dutch oven for bread making lol
You did it! 🥳 it was very satisfying to watch you get rid of so many and I hope your chair is empty now!! 😂 still looking forward to reading Skandar (thank you again!) x
Congrats on the unhaul! 👏 👏 👏
I enjoy the Polar Bear on your bookshelf.
If it helps your view of Iron Widow, it’s fantastical sci-fi. Or even science fantasy? I think you might like it.
Aww so glad you kept godkiller. It would have been nice to see you putting the new books on shelves and organising on, that would have be fun. Thanks for the video really enjoyed it 😊
I remember you talking about Vassa in the Night waaaay back when! 😯
Well done at the clearing of space!
I think you’ll like Babel, it’s really good!
yesss!!! Such a good unhaul! Congrats!!!! Oh that White Fox book sounds interesting.

That's massive, Jaey. I hope you had a lovely Christmas. ☺️

I read part of Book of night, and it just wasn't good. I made it like less than half way before I decided to DNF and get rid of it.
So why do you still buy the Fairyloot if you don't read YA Fantasy anymore? Just a question.
Honestly, fomo! But I think I do need to cancel it looking back on the last year or so
@@Jadeyraereads I do understand that. I cancelled mine a while ago but I kind of miss it and I read more YA than you still. Maybe I should get on the waitlist again 😅
Brutal and amazing video love it 🥰 and Happy New Year 🥳 to you too love your Australia family friend John ❤❤❤
Beth from booksnest is reading the Winter Garden or has just recently, and she was liking it. 🤷♀️
Do you have room in your bedroom for a bookshelf or 2. What do you do with special editions you no longer want?
Yes jade make that space 👏 (only to immediately fill it of course lol)
I have apparently missed something. What is the issue with Robin Stevens?
So ruthless. Look at you go 🤣

Coming from someone who really enjoyed Sky in the Deep, you are missing nothing by unhauling The Girl the Sea Gave Back lol
that's great to know hahaha
I loved Belladonna personally
Think I spotted Evernight on one of your shelves and personally thought it was pretty meh. Idk much about your taste but I would personally say unhaul it.

I'm bad. I think I'd create fake book boxes out of some of those lovely special editions. * hides from collectors *

whoever never gave you ACOMAF back…. straight to jail 😂
Lock ‘em up! 😂
Love the brutality! Of the ones I've read, I think you made good calls. Even the ones that I personally liked don't feel like Jade books.
Those original acotar covers are worth a lot of money now you will make good money off them
What was your final count? How tall are you? Just curious.
In the name of brutality! Love this so much! Great job! 🎄🎄

So many people (inc myself!) seem to be getting away from YA fantasy at the moment!
We love brutal Jade ❤❤
I read the very merry murder club for a reading vlog. It was very meh. Some of the stories were good, most of them were just ok, if not dull.
Nooo! Not Uprooted 😰
Why don't you want to sell them? I've never known a bookworm who has enough money lol
I liked Amelia Fang! No, I didn't like Six Crimson Cranes or Belladonna. 1 star!
We love seeing some brutality!
I doubt you’ve heard anything good about city of dusk, no one really liked it. It’s supposed to be adult but feels so YA
💚🖤
💚👽🖤
I really should do this to my shelves soon… I have no more room 🥲

Book of Night…absolute shite, nearly as bad as Hide but that book was the ultimate in shite and a total arse paper read.
Audiobook when you read Ready Player One, I think you will enjoy it that way more x
