Well done and very informative. I think a Veritas file holder is in my future. As is a pair of eyeball extenders. Now, where's my late mother's sewing supplies? There must be slippery needle in there somewhere.
Nice seeing steel wool being a hero. I have a plywood tray with high sides. I sit on the couch with it on my lap and steel wool antique tools. Watch a movie and the tools come out nice. All aspects of video production are A+. Video changes angles neigh for holding interest. Oration fantastic. Quality Audio.
Would love to see you remove and reinstall the back. This was a great video. I’ve slowly learned to sharpen saws. I n addition to the Veritas gauge, I bought the ToolsforWorkingWood vise. It makes as big a difference as the gauge did. I justified it because I had scrounged together over 20 saws, all in need of care and feeding. I can’t even find a service here in the PNW.
Love the needle test! Will apply! I also have an old straight razor stone (Sharpol). It's just like yours with the square and maker (or seller) name. Do you ever reflatten it? What other uses do you have for it?
I have a Disston 10" backsaw and it needs to be sharpened. I can never sharpen high TPI crosscut saws though. The saw I have is 15 TPI. Anyone know a good sharpening service out there?
The best video I have ever seen on sharpening a hand saw. Well done! Bobby
I always appreciate your videos ,they are informative and you are direct and explain very well. Again thank you Dave.
Thank you much lad! That was the best explanation I've ever seen of this process. Keep 'em coming.😊
Thank you Dave, I really liked this one, please make more.

Thank you very much!!!!!
A man of many talents you are!
Thank you for the compliment!!!!!
Nice work and Great video even if I’m guilty of using vinegar from time to time
When I first started restoring and sharpening saws I too used vinegar only to quickly learn that a little elbow grease yields a better result.

I have several other saws to restore and sharpen. I will definitely post a video showing how I remove the back…

I have had that stone for 10 years and have never had to flatten it.

Is there a way to get ahold of you? I have a can of un-used S.C. Johnson paste wax you like that I want to send you.
Yes I’m on Facebook under the same name Dave Corinth you can message me from there.
Very good video...but now you're doomed...You got oil on your skin!!!!!!🥴
