Do We Regret Moving to Tennessee? *8 month update*
Вставка
- Опубліковано 29 вер 2024
- After living in Nashville Tennessee for 8 months and experiencing 3 out of 4 seasons, we thought it'd be fun to explore if we have any regrets about moving to Tennessee.
We went through our first Tennessee summer and experienced the humidity. Either it wasn't that bad or we're just a couple of Zonies used to 115 degree summers so high 80s was a treat for us. We'll see what summer number 2 brings.
How are tornadoes in Tennessee? Scary! We went through our first one of those too. We experienced a beautiful Tennessee fall and who woulda thunk it snowed here too.
Tennessee is truly one of the most beautiful places to live.
Gondola ride was at Anakeesta in Gatlinburg!

My husband hates the heat so he can’t wait to move to Tennessee and I cannot wait to experience Fall! Thanks for your input!
You're going to love the fall! You'll have to take a trip to Gatlinburg in October to see the trees and the Smokey Mountains! It was amazing! We're so excited for you and your husband! Best of luck on your move and welcome to Tennessee! 💛
I am in East TN. Doesn’t get much hotter than 82 in the mountains.
@@ellap1313 until two weeks ago
@@beavisbrowne3497 where I am I have a few hot days, but we had one day go to 88. That’s it. For the most part summer is 82-84. There were areas ten miles away that were 90 but not us.
Tennessee can get extremely hot in the summers. If you’re from Arizona then maybe it won’t be so bad. But if you come from the west coast get ready for the heat wave.
The housing market used to be affordable, but it's insanely high right now. While I welcome everyone moving here, it's partly the reason the housing market has become so unaffordable. You can't compete with people moving here from other states who make a profit selling their homes and are paying cash. Houses are gone as soon as their listed. My daughter and her fiancé are wanting a home of their own, but they can't afford it sadly. 10 years ago they wouldn't have had a problem.
When I was young, I remember Tennessee and other southern states were made fun of by the rest of the US. I couldn't travel anywhere without someone commenting on my southern accent. I was in California when I was a teen and some kids asked me why I wasn't wearing overalls and a straw hat. Now, we are in the top 10 states people moved to in 2021. WOW
Just wait, the New Yorkers and Californians will ruin that place. They don’t assimilate. They’ll just complain and try to change things. I was a Californian 29 years ago. The newer ones aren’t like they used to be.
@@DynamicBailey time will tell. If this state goes from red to blue, everything good about our state will be gone. ☹️
I miss TN before the big boom
@@octobercountry3322 I have family in Spring Hill. Very nice area! If we only knew then what we know now, we would all be 🤑 rich. Happy Easter!
Amen 👍
We moved to East Tennessee after giving Florida 3 years (did not like the flat lands, hurricanes, alligators or extreme heat) We had to moved FL from 20 years in Southern California for work. Originally from Wisconsin. We absolutely love Eastern Tennessee and are looking to plant roots but as you said, the housing market is out of sight right now. I expect in a few years when things settle down, we will find something affordable. In the meantime we are leasing a house in an amazing historic community near the University of Tennessee. You are correct, there is so much to do, see and eat. History, museums, hiking, fishing, golf, outdoor activities, parks, the Great Smoky Mountains, music BBQ, dining out doors, and so much more. We absolutely love the 4 seasons. In fact, we experienced our first magical snowfall on our first Christmas here. It was beautiful enough to make us cry. The people here are so sweet and respectful. Thank you for your information.
Wow Ruth! Gave me chills reading about tears on your first snowfalls! So glad you love it too!! We’d love to explore Eastern TN more. What part of So Cal were you in? I grew up out there too. Miss the beach but the trees are very calming too!
@@RyanandMelissaPage Hi Guys! We were in rural Santa Barbara County, what we like to call strawberry, flowers & wine country sandwiched between Orcutt & Santa Maria. We grew an awesome garden of 36 different fruits & vegetables. We enjoyed riding our Harley along the ocean and all over the Central Coast hills from Santa Barbara to Paso Robles. Sadly, the landscaped changed to more cannabis grows w/ hoop houses, the economy tanked making the cost of living impossible to stay. We are so happy to have made this dramatic move. We love the smooth roads, especially on the Smoky Mountain Parkway. The history around here is beautifully highlighted in the outstanding museums such as the Sam Houston Historic Schoolhouse, the Museum of Appalachia, and Cades Cove Museum. I'm sure Gatlinburg & Pigeon Forge are great places to visit but the traffic seems to be overwhelming so we stay away.
@@RyanandMelissaPage Yall seem nice. I'm from Cleveland Tennessee.
Go back to Ca leave Tn
As long as blue states continue to get worse in quality of life, it's not going to slow down much
Well I’m born and raised here in my beautiful Tennessee and I want to first and foremost welcome one and all … my family goes back generations here before Tennessee was even a state .. I live in the eastern side and you folks want to see beauty well y’all need to see East of Knoxville.. all around is beautiful scenery and good folks to boot .. now we are a red state and will gladly tell you how we like our living to stay.. just saying.. lots of good Christian folks and that is what I mainly want to tell y’all.. please come but please please don’t try and change us to what you folks ran here to get away from .. we have churches on just about every street corner and love our hometown street parties for fun but clean wholesome fun now .. I know our country is changing and not for the good . But no matter with a warm Tennessee welcome with some southern hospitality will certainly be given as long as it’s warranted.. much love and hugs come one come all but leave your whatever state you’re leaving pretty please..
We are Christians currently living in Canada. We are thinking of moving to the outskirts of Knoxville. Right now looking at maryville. Any towns you could suggest?
Thank you no one does nice better then people
Related to Jesus, that's when it gets freake, no Jesus no good its just better here it's not popular because people think of one should be sin is acceptable , no fence sitting that's the only difference.anyway have a nice day.iam glad you and your wife are happy.
I wanted to move to Nashville and retired now, can't afford it, why did it get so pricey?
@@michaelsix9684 It got so pricy because too many people are moving here and destroying our cost of living. Houses that used to cost 100k to 150k now cost between 300k to 600K. All the influx of people are ruining everything.
@@karenpickford7112 Austin is a huge mess now due to same thing, it's scary
We moved a month before you! My husband and I love love East Tennessee and would never change it for the world!
Welcome to the mountains 🏔. Just remember… don’t Californy our Tennessee! Lol 😂
@@James-di7th TX has over 500,000 CA transplants now, more are coming in, it drives real estate prices way up
Hate all these ppl coming here ruining Tn
Where about in the east did you wind up? Is around Knoxville nice?
If you like country living try Pickwick Lake.
I’m so bummed my husband and I didn’t move there when I wanted to. He wasn’t on board back a year or so ago. Now it’s too expensive and my dream home is not only gone, but at least $600k MORE than it was when I was looking. I’m glad you two got to live your dreams. Why am I feeling so resentful of the fact that the entire country is moving there? It’s never going to be the same.
Austin TX has the same problem, keep looking outside of town, you can find something
I'm kind of resentful the entire country is moving here, too! It will never be the same if everybody brings their blue state voting habits in here! Some people are drawn by the absent income tax, but it is a hard-fought battle to keep it that way!
There a plenty of good deals throughout the state!
I moved here 11 years ago! I love it!
Quit looking for houses in cities. Look rural. And yes, if you really, really want to move here you may have to find a double wide manufactured home. The new ones are well built, and they are normally much, much less expensive than a conventional stick built house. Look rural.
Welcome to TN don't forget the check out Falls Creek Falls Park and walking trail a long with camping.
Just like to say to everyone moving to TN welcome.
We bought a house near Strawberry plains pike. We arrived end of July 22. Big yard and larger for so much less money than in California. We love it here
We just moved here 10 days ago from Southern Cali and we are loving it!
You too are adorable. My ancestry comes from Tennessee and Virginia and my husband and I left California in July and we couldn't be happier. It is just wonderful. I hope more can get here before the housing market explodes. The people here are just so wonderful and everything is as well. East Tennesee is where we landed and my mom was born in Knoxville, but we planted ourselves in Rogersville.
Hi, my son just bought a house in Kodak TN. I'm turning 70 this year and was hoping to move there and live in a Adult Apt or 55+ Apts. Are there any in your town? How far are you from Sevierville?
Ancestry is kind of hilarious. We are from Illinois originally. Moved to NC and lived there 30 years, retired to TN, even though our family (still stuck in the Midwest) hollered at us to "come home!"
I always considered myself an Illinoisan because my ancestors had been there since the 1830s. Once I began researching my family tree, I found that our homes in North Carolina; now Tennessee; were close (like next county over) to the sites of ancestors who took the path of immigration from Virginia to Tennessee to Kentucky and then Illinois. So, we told family "we DID move home!"😁
Please leave the California politics in California 🙏
Excellent video !! Thank you for putting this together
We lived in Tennessee for 6 years, from Arizona. Had to move back to help with elderly parents, loved the 4 seasons and a slower pace of life.Madisonville worked for us.
I went there last year and I live in Arizona right now but, love Tennessee when I went there on a vocation! Would love to live there. Am really thinking about it! I really love bucee’s the biggest gas station in the world! Thanks for this video! I have been watching a lot of videos on Tennessee lately!
That's amazing! Thank you for sharing your personal experience in moving here.
Moved here (Knoxville)25 years ago, love it, love the people, love the culture.
With respect if you don’t like Tennessee please don’t stay. The areas around Nashville are becoming flooded with people with tons of money. I’ve seen people come in and buy houses for half a million just to tear down the house and get the 10 or so acres it sits on. I get that’s just the way the world works but it’s Still sad to see families that have been here for generations move away.
Spring and winter kind of blend here. We just call it SPRINTER!
We moved from hot hot Bakersfield, ca to middle Tennessee in January. We’re hoping that bc summer in Bakersfield is miserable hot we’re going to adjust well like y’all. Thanks for sharing your story 😄.
Born and raised here 66 yrs.It was rural and quit and affordable and now it is nether. No income tax which is good but the most regressive sales tax in the country and it disproportionately impacts the lower income folks .The only building going on is Apartment complexes and High end homes near the lakes. Blount county is now just a bedroom community for Knoxville where most of the job's are.Large employers in the area are NipponDenso ,Arconic,And Amazon.Pay is decent but worker retention is bad due to working conditions simply because Tennessee is a "right to work for nothing state".Smokeies are close by and beautiful but soon the view will be blocked by all the rental cabins which is an eyesore .Growing fast but can't call it progress.
We're moving to Chattanooga soon. We visited in the spring like you. We will move in July, by then the heat will be cranked up! Bye Bay Area weather. Do a home inspection! Don't waive it. We found an issue with the home we want and got a discount on it. Great video. I'll do an update on our channel! All the best!

@@TheMiriam333 Thank you!! We will. I actually worked with a company that gets Coorstek products from Oakridge!
How'd the move go for you? We ended up waiving inspection on our house. Got lucky, but definitely not a great move.
Yall moved to the worst part of Tn. West Tn is the bad part of the state because its mostly flat and gets hit with more extreme weather. The East Tn are is the best part because its mostly mountains with less chance of extreme weather and depending on how far east you go in Tn you are able to travel to other states in very short times. I live in the Far east Tn part of the State in the mountains. 1 hour I am in Kentucky and 15 min I am in Virgina and in 1 hour I am in North Carolina. Yall are young and dont know what yall do for a living but you should look into moving farther east in Tn and you will find the cost of living lower and housing prices lower and in my humble opinion a better class of people then in the West Tn side of the state. But Good luck in your time here.
How is Sparta ? Is it a good place to live and raise kids?
@@laurarivero3328 I don't know much about Sparta. But everything from Memphis to Knoxville is expensive in property costs and Tn overall is low on education. unless its a private school. Crime is on the rise in Memphis and Nashville areas and we are starting to see more violent crime in the Knoxville area. So it is spreading from the larger cities into the smaller areas. Tn has a very high drug problem with its youth. Tn is a great place for a person that is retired and just looking for warmer weather and a slow way of life. But I tell people if your young and have children and looking for a good job and good education for your children then Tn is not the place for you.
We are moving to East Tennessee but what are the very best towns in East Tennessee?
@@Kelly61Ram What are you looking for ? In town or on the outskirts in the country? Our major larger cities range from 50-150k ppl where the smaller towns in the country areas have less than 25K ppl and some with even less then that.
Go to timberland park it’s like 30 minutes from Franklin. There’s a dirt trails beautiful. I’m watching it in UA-cam now and we are planning to go very soon and to do metal detector too.
You guys seem like great people. So this message isn't for you its for everyone considering moving here. For the love of god please do not. Been here since 1990 and we still have the same roads basically so the towns traffic is getting worse every few months (LITTERALLY). Some summers aren't that bad but most of them are long and very hot. Wasps everywhere. Everytown has food trucks big whoop. Music and night life is crazy but that's more of a tourist thing. I know you might hate were you live and Nashville is super trendy right now but honestly try somewhere other than Nashville. It's pretty much just hype. Much love but this Town is full and then some
thanks for saying that, Nashville should be off everyone's list for relocation now, too full and too $$$
Yes nothing against anyone here.... but Nashville and clarksville is getting so iver crowded and none of the roads or more schools have been done...they just keep building and building it is getting horrible.... hope to relocate to the countryside soon or another small town
I'd miss the conveniences . 5-15 minutes to so many restaurants ( I'd hate just fast food or american diner or bbq restaurants ), cheap hair cuts, car wash , tons of movie theater choices , package dropoff places....
Martins has the best brisket ever!
For cans, bottles and glass the national bottle bill might help some and give you back some money.
I’m Latina, I have considered moving there, but I’ve heard this is a very racist state. Would you agree?
It’s like any state I live in Summit Illinois and it’s very racist here unless you go to a more populated city or town it will be the same there
I don't know about racism, but IMO, if you vote blue and move to a red state, well, that's not greatly appreciated. You haven't mentioned your political party, and you are under no obligation to do so. However, I live in CA and have seen what the Democratic Party can do to such a wonderful state. Best of luck!
No not at all. Memphis and Chattanooga most likely is but southern Southeast Tenn welcomes everyone. I live in the tiny town of Tellico Plains Tn pop a little over 800 maybe 3 African Americans, Native Americans and is most are caucausan and own their on homes. Lots are retired. The schools are excellent and very nice place to raise a family.
It has local hospitals clinics and being so close to Chattanooga and Knoxville its an hours drive for excellent care
Chattanooga is about 1 hr west, Knoxville about 1hr away. Gatlinburg Tn is a good ride if you like to see what Southeast's great is all about.
A quiet place sitting on the porch swing kind of living. Amish Farmers market near by and very convenient. Just a very relaxed open spaces with lots to do in summer and winter

I wanted to move years ago but needed to take care of my elderly parents who are now gone & I am selling. Any nice small country towns with a wooded property & affordable?
Sorry to hear about your parents. We're excited that you get to move to Tennessee! We once heard Tennessee is like the jungle with a few houses sprinkled in. It's true! There are beautiful wooded properties everywhere and thats what we love too! I am wanting to move to East Tennessee. I grew up in northern Wisconsin in farmland. Wisconsin is green, green green and has rolling hills. I have loved mountains since going on family vacation to Yellowstone. I have driven through Tennessee & have attended the National Storytelling Festival in the East near the mountains for many years. I want to live in a rural area. I would like any information about Tenn & certainly also from other people viewing this channel.
That sounds so beautiful!! Are you still in Wisconsin? There is definitely something peaceful about being in the mountains or the green rolling hills. We've never been to Yellowstone, but can see how that would shape your experience. It's on the bucket list. The National Storytelling Festival sounds like a fun time! Hello Melissa, I'd like to know about Internet service availability in rural & small town areas. I am aware that in rural, small town areas that often the Internet service is limited (this applies to most any state) Thanks for any info you may have.....like what areas have or don't have internet, or its very weak, sometimes ATT is the only service provider except for small companies I never heard of before...so wonder about the service!
Hey there! We're not rural enough to have experienced any difficulties with internet, but when we visited the smokies at an AirBnB it was not too bad! I can't speak for other rural areas though!

Please stop moving here. Tennessee is being ruined by people escaping the states they themselves ruined.
There's nothing to be done about the increasing housing prices due to insane demand, but as long as the people moving here don't make it California, all are welcome. Tennessee has been home my whole life, and it's changed a lot in the last decade. People want to move here for a reason, so let's not change it.
Who is trying to change it?? Lol
I understand what you mean by Californians making it California. I live in Phoenix Az and for the last few years its getting crowded and lots of California license plates and it Sucks.

I've been living in Pigeon forge for 2 years and I'm a live musician in Gatlinburg. The music scene is definitely competitive in some areas, but at the end of the day we're a music family. Glad you two enjoy Tennessee life. Come visit Gatlinburg in the fall and catch a live performance or two at some of the amazing bars and venues we have!

You know I've been to Tennessee twice, from Indiana. Between there and Florida I feel were the places that I felt most at home. Both have such welcoming people and it's pretty easy to spark conversations with strangers. And in my opinion, Tennessee is more beautiful of a state, because the mountains and sheer amount of wilderness there is amazing. I'm a nature person and a house somewhere out in the mountains actually sounds like paradise, but I'd be pretty lonely lol. And the bears are awesome, it feels like they're almost just part of society here the way I seen so many that wander around town.
If only I wasn't 21 with no money or no clue what i wanna do with my life or no one to do it with. But I still watch these videos, just sucks that I have no clue what i'd be happy doing with my life to make enough money to go where I want. I like making music but until that takes off I feel like I'm a slave to this boring flat cornfield infested nowhere land that only prevails at factory work and farming. And then once u do tht u get stuck in the same area paycheck to paycheck like everyone else. So confused man. Hope I can one day find out what to do with my life so I can move somewhere like Tennessee or wherever like you guys. It's depressing, but thx for the video this content helps me feel better at least.
you’ll figure your way out my man. You’re very young. Keep your head up and believe in yourself. hopefully one day as a people we can help each other actually get to the places we all would like each other to be. the industry jobs are destroying our world. it’s very scary. I’m right here with you bro. Except I’m 25 with in reality, not a whole lot of money and no clue where I’m going to move to. you’re not the only one out here with the same things on your mind. Trust me. A lot of people are really struggling. I hope someday things can change, and people will charge less, pay more, and overall care more. Blessings to you and your family and friends bro. You’re gonna do just fine. Don’t worry.
Sounds a lot like my dad's story. He was expected to join his widowed mom and sisters working at the local cannery right after high school. He signed up for the Navy instead, and said it was overall a really positive experience. He learned a trade and traveled all over Asia, too.

Keep any left wing ideas out of Tennessee. Other than that Welcome and Enjoy.
Umm... Raised in New England move to Arizona (Maricopa county) . And now to East Tennessee. Been here for a little over a year and the observations I have made are very poor health care. People really don't want to work. Having vehicles repaired or any type of service done takes a while. The scenery is beautiful but it's only for a very short time. Whereas in Arizona it's pretty consistent weather (warm and half the year really damn hot). Arizona though is very diverse with scenery. After a while of being here Believe it or not you miss the sun. It can get gloomy here especially during the winter months. And the weather is seriously erratic. It's hard to plan a trip sometimes because you just don't know what it's going to do. I think that was the biggest reason why I left New England. The only things I don't miss about Arizona is HOAs and how crowded it's becoming. It's unfortunate that there was so much influx of Californians and other very liberal states that It's now a political nightmare. I'm praying that don't happen to Tennessee.
That’s my concern, we are trying to move from Texas because so many liberal people have moved here. It’s not your country living anymore with kind people
Yeah, I live in CA and am conservative and have crossed AZ off of the list. TN, OTOH, had a Democratic majority in the State Senate as recent as '02 and the House as recent as '06. It's now 27-6 red in the Senate and 75-24 red in the House! I suppose it can change, but it appears to me the population moving in is voting red.
I've lived in East Tennessee all of my life. You're right, it isn't as humid as everyone says. Although it's strange the longer your body adjusted to Tennessee humidity the worse it will get. Now you may be sitting outside when it's 88 degrees with 60% humidity and be thinking it isn't that bad hot. But in a few years you will be in the same situation and you'll be saying... OH MY GOD IT'S HOT! 🤣. Winter is strange here also. The snow is very random. One year northern east Tennessee may get 2 or 3 storms maybe average about 3 inches of snow per storm while the southern portion of east Tennessee may not get anything... Next year could be the opposite lol. In my opinion spring and fall aren't very long seasons here. It is more or less winter or summer for the majority of the year.
Ahh a true native! We were just wondering how the weather will affect us over time. We’re excited for our second fall/winter. Fall definitely was fast last year. We’ve started to notice leaves changing already. Thanks for providing your perspective!!

Just remember wen you vote that one brand of politicians ruined Washington, and a different brand is responsible fo the low taxes and freedom we enjoy in TN.
Just bought a house in middle TN. Moving from shelton, WA
Just don't bring your Seattle communism!
Just wondering why middle Tennessee? Why is everybody so attracted to middle Tennessee
@@jacoba9858 because of Nashville
The family and I are moving to East Tennessee in May from Northern California. I, too, am looking forward to the four seasons (vs two that we have here). It'll be nice to see some rain again. It's our very own "Great Reset". Cannot wait!
Congratulations, Sean! That's exciting!! Best of luck to you and your family on the move! Welcome to Tennessee!
Lol the bay area?
@@oa8945 Might as well be now, but Folsom.
@@RedVoodoo69er Just what we need in Tennessee... More Californians.. Ugh.
TN doesn’t have spring…cold, wet and cloudy doesn’t count as spring it’s a long drawn out winter. Summer is unbearable to be outside, with all the bugs and humidity…so four seasons? Idk about that…
I’ve been considering Tennessee for a while and you really helped me. You didn’t mention where in Tennessee you are located. Would love to know.
They referred to several suburbs of Nashville
Don't move to Tennessee. It's horrible here. I'd recommend staying elsewhere. Anywhere but here. Especially East TN. Its awful. It's horrible. Just trust me. PLEASE STOP MOVING TO TN!!!
Moved from arizona to tennessee as well. I do love arizona and miss it but I love tennessee as well. The desert will always hold a place in my heart but love all the forest and green here.
This California native is getting out of the crap state it is. I’m leaving because of all the libs. Right wing all day for life! See you all soon. Oh and I’m moving to very rural area.
My wife and I moved to Knoxville from Orange County, CA last October, so we were able to experience the tail end of Fall and LOVED IT. Winter has been an adventure, but being in Knoxville we don't get as severe weather like the West side of the state since we are up against the Smokies, but we have also loved every minute of it! We have enjoyed doing excursions on the weekends when my wife doesn't work (she's a nurse) and have loved Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge along with civil war historical places. My wife and I are in the same boat in housing, we are currently in an apartment and hopefully inventory will open up in the spring so we can pounce on one. We moved here from CA to take a step back and breathe from the high stress you get there and our stress levels have significantly dropped since moving here. Not that it's totally gone, but it is so much less. People are nicer, food is great and the atmosphere of seeing the beautiful trees everywhere you go makes it for a relaxing place!
Awesome glad you love it too! I can totally relate since I grew up in OC and feel the hustle and bustle when I go back. Have you been back yet? The trees are so calming! Jealous you're so close to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. We went this October and it was so beautiful there!!
we love it, TX is now becoming like CA, too much traffic, crime, and housing is way up, TN might be a good move
Crime? You might want to do your research on crime in TN…
@@michaelsix9684 no stay there we have enough ppl gtfo
Don’t bring your crappy leftist ideas here
dont come here if you are not nice... hold doors, say hello, drive slower, and wavy at ppl.
Lol I’ve lived in East Tennessee my entire life. I’m glad y’all like it!!
Please don't California my Tennessee. Vote Republican. And welcome to Tennessee!
Don’t vote rino republicans. Vote conservative republicans.
Amen sister 🇺🇸
@@dangercat9188 Amen! In what part of Tennessee do you live? Most of our TN legislature in Nashville are RINO including our governor and speaker of the house 😠 Tennesseans need to pay attention to that but most are not I fear
I bought my East Tennessee retirement cabin a couple years back, and I can't wait to move. I'm a conservative born again Christian from California and a gun owner. I pray TN will be a better fit than CA ever was.
Trust me, no state could become California
Welcome to the great state of Tennessee, I love my state..
GREAT PRESENTATION. THANK YOU FOR THE HONESTY. I AM ABOUT TO MOVE THERE WITHIN THE NEXT 6 OR 7 WEEKS FROM OHIO SO THE INFO IS APPRECIATED. I LOVE YOUR PERSONALITY AND HAPPINESS. WISHING YOU GOD'S BLESSING.
I am in OH and have thoughts of this same thing 😁
I grew up in that area about 130 miles north in Kentucky , I live in Vegas now but I can tell you the food in that area is terrific but you want to remain physically active get a gym membership if your a foodie because the food there has a tendency to be really heavy. Lots of Bar BQ and fried foods , it's the southern way.
July 2021 is when we moved here....We love it here....Gavin Newsom, keep your mess in California....Leave us alone here....
We visited East Tennessee in April 2021 and move there June 2021. No regrets!
O great tell everybody so they can bring there crazyness to us. If you come here don't bring your ways here and try to change things.
Especially Californians!
Patriot communities are always great.
I’m a Florida transplant. Lived in Tennessee since 1973. Been all over the country…moved a couple times, never for long. Keep getting drawn back here. Wouldn’t live any where else. SE TN!
I miss the Tennessee I grew up in. It's ruined now.
I've been thinking about moving to Nashville for quite some time. I left my hometown in Minnesota moved to Las Vegas, then moved to Texas then moved back to Vegas. I asked my friend " if Vegas and Texas had a baby where would that be?" She said Nashville! I think its my next move. And this video confirmed it! So glad i found this!!!
He has so many people moving to Tennessee but I hope they don't go Democrat and ruin the state
Welcome to Tennessee. Maybe we will see you at Martins! (we go often) :)
Hi you guys from South West TN! Oh man, we have 4 seasons in 1 day!
Before anyone thinks about moving to Tennessee please think about what you're doing to our local communities. The housing prices are going through the roof and little old ladies who's families have been here for 10 generations now can't pay the newly assessed taxes on their properties. Locals who built these places through our blood sweat and tears for hundreds of years are being priced out. Stay where you are and make YOUR community better and stop fleeing to places like Tennessee, Texas and Idaho.
So true. Me and my partner who are originally from TN are having such a hard time finding a house because it’s like 250k for a 3 bedroom. What average Tennessean can afford that??
The burden is on the politicians to exempt established homeowners from the increased property taxes and to keep taxes low by spending wisely and in a timely manner. In Nashville, they ignored infrastructure for 50 years and now want to gouge everyone to pay for sleeping at the wheel, even while putting TWO new homes on one old lot, thereby doubling the tax base.
The problem is government...what a surprise.
We literally just had old couples lose there homes thst they had been in for years and years just so they could widen the road and build more.... it is sooo sooo sad
It’s the national affordability crisis. It has people on the move, and folks getting priced out EVERYWHERE.
People don't care they are greedy!
We've (my sister and I) relocated to south central Tn a little over a year ago.
Some adjustments no regrets. We went for acreage as opposed to traditional burbs. Again no regrets only joy.
I lived in Tennessee for several years. Although it took some getting used to, I did really enjoy it and miss it now!
You must check out the Olive Branch Ms area! It's just across the Tennessee/Mississippi line (Memphis). Talk about variety of homes, 1 acre lawns, beautiful scenery, laid back. Went from 2000 in 94 to 60000 today. Conservative politics, law and order, great dining everywhere. Close to Beale St and casinos. Wonderful music, museums, history, low crime. 2 months of winter, spring is awesome, fall is so nice, summer is summer! Memphis in May! festival!!
Medical?
60K is still pretty reasonable, GA is exploding, it's now very expensive esp. if you're above Atlanta

Shhh, your big smiling ear to ear faces are going to sell everyone on the idea to move there before we get a chance, lol. My wife and I are seriously thinking of relocating from IN. Just wouldn’t want to live too close to a big city for crime reasons. However for great medical care we wouldn’t want to be that far away from a great hospital. We are quiet people that love and seek a friendly and relaxed community to retire in.
Try Nick and Jim’s BBQ, they are one of my favorites in Mid TN, sooo good!
Just two hours ago, I was driving on White Bridge Road from Harding Pike in SW Nashville en route to Trader Joe's. While stopped at the red light at Post Road, there were two cars in front of me in the two lanes, two cars behind me in the two lanes, and a sweet Mercedes adjacent to me. The cars in front of me had California and New York license plates. The cars behind me had Texas and Florida license plates. When the Mercedes raced past me because her lane was moving faster, I noticed she had Illinois plates. There's no need to wonder why a midday commute that used to take 12-15 minutes to make now takes 25-30 minutes, and why a trip at 3 PM to the airport that used to take 25-30 minutes can take as much as an hour and a half now. Of course, TJs was already out of almost half of my grocery list, because the population increase here commands that a new grocery store open about every 6 or 7 weeks, which does not happen.
I’m from the unyssr (United New York Soviet socialist republic ) it’s what I call communist NY. I’ve never been happier than living in Tennessee. Go Vols. If you don’t love Tennessee you’re wrong.

Eastern Tennessee is the best!
I am so glad I found your video because I live in Phoenix Az and have for the last 28 years. I want a change and Tennessee is my destination I am looking for. I also have all the same questions you guys had and still have. I plan on moving in 1-2 years. I will be 50 years old in 2026 so new live for me at age 50 and new location. I want to travel and experience so much new stuff on East coast since I have experienced everything on west coast already. I will be moving more towards Knoxville and Chattanooga area for I want less hustle and bustle instead of all the business here in Phoenix. Thanks I will watch more of your videos as weeks to come. You are correct lots of realtor videos.
I moved from cali to new hampshire and it sucks. Cali is worse but new hampshire pay is horrible and housing is way over priced. Tennessee has all the goods. I want affordable freedom .
Yes, yes, yes. . . you are exactly right. I have been binge watching everything regarding Tennessee. The pro's & con's, fun things to do, cool hikes, fishing on the rivers, etc. I love that everything is so green. Still trying to find a country type home with some property and an old rusty metal roof barn
Try middle TN good places to live try Coffee, Warren etc. good places to live
Try Hardin County Pickwick Lake. We don't do liberalism though just a warning!!!!
Moved from TX to TN , Don;t care too much for all the rain and Snow, but I also have to work outside all the time so that makes it rough. TX does not have either.
Can you give any insight as to any public shooting ranges out there for us second amendment enthusiasts?

Where in AZ did you move from? I’m planning to do the same early next year.
I just get worried with all these people from blue states moving to red states, in the long run, will it ruin the state?
Definitely check out Murfreesboro. Lot of great spots there. It’s more of a college town but because of that there’s a lot to do
