PS4 How to Backup Save Data in Under 2 Minutes

- In this video I show you two different ways on PS4 how to backup save data. The first method is saving to online (cloud) storage and it requires Playstation Plus subscription. The second method is by backing up your PS4 game save data to a USB flash drive or USB drive. So this video shows you how to backup PS4 save data to the cloud and how to backup PS4 save data to a USB drive. haha I'm doing the same right now! And when I have my backup save (on USB) should I delete the current game data from PS4 and then copy save on console or I can still copy this save while having the old one on the hdd. I dont want to play from the beginning for the 4th time haha

Thank you! I just bought my own copy of Persona 5 Royal, after borrowing my niece’s disc. I finally figured out I have to delete the app in order to download my copy, & wanted to back up my saves. I went through “Backup & Restore” and it was going to back up all my game saves… for 77 minutes! This is better.

Its 2021 and this tutorial is still SOOOO helpful I was just able to back up Sekiro since theres no good games out and Cyberpunk totally missed its mark I went back to sekiro and I'm doin another 100% Platinum run! So this helps so much thnx again

I do have a question? About 7 months ago I got a portable storage device to save my PS4 game saves and data on already saved it all on the portable storage device but recently I just unlocked more things for the same games that I already have saves for, do I have to take out the portable storage device again and go back and re-save everything again?

So I have 2 ps4s. One at my moms and at my dads, on some games the stuff doesn’t save, is there a way that I can have that data on that PS4, save to the one at my dads, without deleting the progress on the other PS4?
I have followed all your steps and tried to update via internet and then I also tried via USB. The update installs on my computer but then when it reboots it goes back to the same screen in safe mode asking me to update again. i have an external hdd that i use to store my ps4 games and ps5 games, and I think save data on there. But i remember that someone said that the save data are automatically store on the cloud. So my question is that i have a problem with the PS5 and PS4 not recognizing the external HDD anymore. I unplugged while the console is turned off and connected to my laptop. When a window pop up, i don't remember what i press, and now the window does not show a drive letter and I'm not able to view anything on there. When i go back to connect the External harddrive to my PS5 or PS4, it is telling me the usb external hdd is unsupported. I was then given the option to format the drive. If I do that, it will erase all my games or save data on there? I'm not sure what to do because I don't want to lost any data on there? what should I do? Thanks.

Yes , you should cloud save it and external save it before you remove your hard drive, then you instal your new hard drive boot it to safe mood and go onto the ps website and look for the update file it’s a bigger file , not the one that shows download at the top , scroll all the way down, the copy it to a USB device and restore while in boot sequence and have the USB connected into your PS4, and everything should be good
So, if I start my PS4 it says I have to update to 7.02. Now I want to initialize my PS4, will I be able to reinstall the data afterwards or do I need to have it saved it before I initialize it cause I have paid much money on my games.
