Small announcement, the preset is included in my aurora preset bank for vital so if you want a bunch of ambient presets like this you can check it out here: anima.audio/products/aurora
I don't know if you meant to make your voice match the pads but everything worked in this video. I've never thought of using the random oscillators like this. It's absolutely mind blowing On the one hand your video makes me want to fall asleep, on the other my mind is racing as I want to open my laptop. 10/10
This is honestly one of the best tutorials I've come across over the last 10 years, you got me out of a block I couldn't beat and made me rethink the way I approach pad design. 10/10, I'll send it to all my producer friends, and you just got yourself a new subscriber. Ciao from Florence, Italy!
Thank you for such a wonderful tutorial! Your pad sounds just indescribably beautiful. And also thanks to UA-cam algorithms for blessing me with this video))
Thank you so much. Got crazy-awesome sound. I searched through many videos but yours was just right. When I finish my track, will drop you the link. Amazing tutorial.
Amazing tutorial! Thank You so much for showing everything at a nice pace as well. Introduced me to a lot of new things with vital I never even knew about!
I've always loved the ambient pad sounds the most from a synth all the way back to when I was a teen in the 80's. The Artist Seal got me into that. Love his style of music. One of my influences. Not much a fan of buzzy sounds. To me that sounds like annoying mosquitos buzzing around my ears. I'm into my creative mode now due to this tutorial about pads. Thank you for this info.
For those of you that want the skin you can download it from google drive below. The dark minimal and neo theme will only work on 1.5+ though so make sure you’re updated before trying them. drive.google.com/drive/mobile/folders/1nXSzKaboSVDDiRTnpZARfY48nnsKHymG
i redid it it with a fresh project file and it still comes out sounding very gritty and rough. more of a distorted saw sound rather than lush pad. PLEASE HELP!
Im not sure where you might have messed up but if its sounding more saw like id assume you need to lower the filter a bit and maybe the drive or anything that might be causing it to distort?
Its based on whatever key you set in the transpose snap. Sadly theres no way to dynamically change it but you can set it to whatever notes or scale you want based on the key of your music.
@@outerlives Thanks for your response! I'll be using this for a song i'll be releasing. Is there any way to ensure that for example by the end of the bar it ends on a high note or is that what you meant when you said that you can't dynamically change it? This is literally sound engineering and you are damn good at it, I am buying your Plugin pack on monday, cheers man
Funny enough, someone on another video asked me this same thing, its just a basic reese in harmor with a deep lowpass and i usually layer it with a bit of distortion or saturation. This is the general preset i made for it though, just automate the level or lowpass to get that swelling sound. drive.google.com/file/d/1shwL_f7iKgkE3uhV9nEb7jThR5h3Lxmf/view?usp=drivesdk
Visualizer made in blender. Followed a few tutorials for certain parts but its something i made. Grass is from this ua-cam.com/video/3tE7mr8GDyY/v-deo.html And for the clouds i think i just found some generic anime clouds tutorial and messed with the colors
Sorry i do not know chord notation well enough to accurately name them so i just typed out the notes in each chord 💀 If you want to double check, in the intro the chords are highlighted in orange on the piano notes when the chord plays which makes it a bit easier to read. Heres the notes i got: F C G Ab C Eb Ab C Eb G Eb G Bb D G D G B D F F Ab C Eb G Eb G Bb D Eb Eb G Bb Eb G F Bb D Eb F Also ive started a new thing with another producer that I’ll probably be moving all tutorials to so you can check that out at youtube.com/@Anima-audio?si=pWvbSvCAVtU-VYLb
Linked it in the comment of my newest video here: drive.google.com/drive/folders/1nXSzKaboSVDDiRTnpZARfY48nnsKHymG Using a newer beta of vital so i cant share the one im using but the “multicolor” one should be identical, the others are earlier variations that are also similar in style.
Thanks for the nice tutorial, I was trying for over an hour to get it to sound like yours, but somehow it still sounds very weird, sounds like saws still. Would you mind uploading the Preset?
Also, its included in this preset pack i just finished today so if you want about 70 ambient patches like that you can check this out anima.audio/products/aurora
I am digging the skin you have on vital. Is that a custom skin...? I want that skin. What is the name and/or do you have a source file or links to the dl for the skin...? Thanks.
Make sure you have vital updated to 1.5+ then you should be able to download the skins below (dark minimal is the one in the video) I also made a neo version that includes new bloom and gradients and a few color changes that you might also like. drive.google.com/drive/mobile/folders/1nXSzKaboSVDDiRTnpZARfY48nnsKHymG
Haha try lowering the resonance or lowering the cutoff. harsh resonance movements in the mids usually gives you more vocal sounding patches so try messing with the position or resonance amt.
I've just finished the tutorial and I'm using Vital within Logic Pro X, but my synth sounds nothing like yours despite following all the steps very carefully. I downloaded your preset and all of the waveforms are different. I feel really misled because in the results part of the video you show the same waveforms as mine but yours sounds so different.
Oh, the patch in the download should be identical to the final example. I saved it after recording the video so have you tried making sure the macros and all of that are similar to what i have? Also make sure that the scale snapping is set to the scale youre playing since it will sound out of key otherwise. Other than that i guess the only thing id say is to make sure your cutoff and filter are the same since even changing the filter type/resonance can really change the timbre. If anyone else has this issue lemme know and ill check the patch but i did export it after making the vid so it should be the same thing.

This might be the most beautiful sound I've ever heard
Possibly the best vital tutorial on UA-cam.

your tutorials are some kind of art form.
You explain it so simply, but that's a sign of deep understanding. Thank you for this. 🔥
I could fall asleep to you talking about synthesis. Maan this tutorial is so relaxing ! Thanks for the great ideas
That's really astonishinly good. Vital is such an amazing synth and the first I've ever felt comfortable programming. Great work and well presented
The tutorial this synth deserves.

Awesome pad. Subscribed

Im not sure where you might have messed up but if its sounding more saw like id assume you need to lower the filter a bit and maybe the drive or anything that might be causing it to distort?
Very late reply but I think it was osc 2 being connected to filter 2. To fix i made it filter 1 only and lowered env 2
Very very GOOD thank You
Hey man this is amazing, is this sound set to always be in C major with these settings?
Its based on whatever key you set in the transpose snap. Sadly theres no way to dynamically change it but you can set it to whatever notes or scale you want based on the key of your music.

I don't know what I did wrong but mine sounds nothing like this. I like what I made though. Especially after tweaking a few things.
Not what I got but still sounded interesting, thanks anyway.
Cool vital skin, where did you get it?
Skin is here (neo minimal in the 1.5+ folder) drive.google.com/drive/u/0/mobile/folders/1nXSzKaboSVDDiRTnpZARfY48nnsKHymG

mine isnt sounding lush like yours. am i missing a step? i rewatched and double checked it. is that a common mistake anyone?
Treasure video
Nicolas cage doing sounddesign tutorials? :p
What skin is this?
You can customise it by yourself
I tried twice to follow exactly but mine sounds more like moaning cats instead of a beautiful soundscape
