I am a pole vaulter I can do these drills consistently and I have even gone to a full turn but I have issues when doing a full run through I jump better off my 7 step rather than my 13 or even 15 step what can I do to fix this because I have a lot more energy with my longer approaches?
Is the goal for drills #2-4 (if being executed properly) to try to hit vertical? Or do you want your vaulters to blow toward the back of the pit? Secondly, is another goal to move up grip and pole stiffness as well when it calls for it? Thanks 🙏.
As a beginner, we look to have them hit 45 degrees or even less if it's needed. Once they can hit the basic positions, then trying to do it closer to vertical becomes a goal. But even then, we always do the drills on a pole or two down than what they would jump on at a bungee.
