I've been devouring all your videos on snow removal, as I am thinking of getting into that half of the business, doing residential plowing (obviously with a truck, not a skid loader, lol). Thanks for being such a valuable resource and making quality videos so I can actually understand what the heck I need to do!

    Stan, given the choice, would you rather plow snow with a wheeled skid-steer or a tracked skid-steer? I'm sure cost wise wheels will win both in initial investment and maintenance but what machine is more productive when pushing snow?

    Pretty cool. do they make bigger ones for backhoes or smaller loaders?? Do you have to angle the blade in order to flip the outer wings?? or is the angle button the one you have to press and then the trigger to do it? i like the back drag feature with the wings

    • @SnowWolfPlows
      @SnowWolfPlows 7 років тому

      The current models are available up to 150" for machines that weigh up to 14,000 lbs. Many compact wheel loaders would fit in under that overall weight. As for the wing operation, you angle the blade to flip the outer wings. You do not have to press any buttons, you only use your angle switch.

    Looks like the wingy things on each end would last about ten minutes after being smashed into a few curbs by the dweebs that manage to break most any "fool proof" machine you put them in. Even the fixed "pushers" take a beating and end up bent when you run into that "thing" that wasn't supposed to be hiding in the snow. Life sucks but plowing snow makes it suck a whole lot more.

  • @meadowviewlawncarellc8079

    Hey Stan how do the wings function? With only the 2 hydro hoses usually just for left and right moment. What am I missing? 4 Pistons with 2 hoses and no wires? Just went to sima show in RI in June didn't see this. Is it new also??

    • @Dirtmonkey
      @Dirtmonkey  8 років тому +1

      Brand new. You pretty much described it. Go all the way left and it will rollover into back drag mode. Go all the way left and it goes into containment.

    • @SnowWolfPlows
      @SnowWolfPlows 8 років тому +1

      Hey, sorry we missed you at SIMA. We had a front row booth with the QuattroPlow working demo. We sometimes had up to 30 people outside our booth, so that could explain why you may not have seen it. If you're going to GIE next week, we’ll see you there! You are right that it does all functions with only the two hoses, just like a standard angle plow, like Stanley explained. Have to see it to believe it. It works incredibly. Check our website for a dealer in your area who can give you a demo. Thanks!

    • @Dirtmonkey
      @Dirtmonkey  8 років тому

      Google the formula for concrete. The formula for soil density is as follows
      Length x width x depth equals cubic feet. Divide by 27 to convert to loose cubic yards. Multiple that by 1.25 to convert to compacted cubic yards.
      This might not apply accurately to concrete or convert into different units of measurement.

      The One And Only have two. They are pretty terrible once you get some hours on them. I'm at 400 hours with a qp114 and so many issues. Can't actually straight Blade because the mulboard has those 1 foot corners. (I don't mean the winglets). The rubber on the winglets prevents good scraping in colder snow, and costs 800$ to replace, and the only way to tell where the curb is, is to wear the bolts down that hold the rubber. I have more complaints on it. But that's enough for now

      Hey Keo! Sorry for the delay here. The QuattroPlow list price is right around 7K. However - we sell through dealers. If you message us your zip code we can connect with you a local dealer for more specifics. Thanks so much!

    Dude who cares its just a snow plow

  • @michaelkey8424
    @michaelkey8424 6 років тому

    Seeing as the plow has to completely angle to one side or the other to change the wings that makes this an utterly useless design. There will be more time wasted angling than actually plowing.
