I love Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain. My dad would play guitar and sing it all the time when I was younger. When he taught me to play the guitar, that was one of the first songs I learned to play. As I grew older, my musical taste evolved to be more rock centered, but I still love me some Willie. It's just great genuine music.
At 90 years old, Willie is still performing and touring. He’s written hundreds and hundreds of songs and started out writing a number of number one songs for other people.
Willie recorded his version in the early eighties. Among others it had been previously recorded by Brenda Lee and Elvis Wayne Carson, Johnny Christopher and Mark James wrote it.
He performs with his family plus running the Willie's Reserve which sells saliva weed. Look it up, you can order from him too. He's been on Stephen Colbert Show but the interviews are always on his bus. Stephen always comments on the great smell in the bus.
The piano is the late great Sister Bobbie Nelson. Willie said the two of them alone could do a show with no rehearsal, they played music with each other every day of their lives
HA - that's the first thing I said when this video started: BOBBIE!!! ....and, my 22 yr old son said: No, it's not - that's Willie Nelson.... 🙄 RIP, BOBBIE!! PLAY ON, WILLIE!!!
My husband passed away, and this song hits home. He was in a veteran's home that was 2 hours away. I should've been there more for him. He had Alzheimers, PTSD, Agent Orange. Now that he's gone, i don't think i did love him enough. He was always on my mind
That is Willie's sister, Bobbie, on the piano. She passed away a year or so ago. This is one of Willie's best. "Blue Eyes Cryin in the Rain" is another. Also, his duet with Loretta Lynn.."Lay Me Down" is wonderful. And, his recording of "Don't Let The Old Man In" written for Clint Eastwood by Toby Keith. Willie has a totally different cadence to his singing than anyone else. He's one of our state treasures.
Willie has a couple of song videos that are pretty good. I will Never Smoke Weed With Willie Again and The World Has Gone to Pot. You should check them out. lol I loved them both. Waylon and him sing these two songs together.
Oh, I love that song, my late brother used to play it for my niece when she was little, she loved it so much. I had the privilege of seeing Willie in concert, he was fantastic!
Willie Nelson, in his younger days, was known as, and is still referred to by the old time country artists and fans, as the Red Headed Stranger. Just a little bit of personal knowledge for you Pegasus. Your friend, the Retired Paramedic in Ontario, Canada, Jenn 💖 🇨🇦
PEGASUS, YOU MUST CHECK HIGHWAYMEN BY THE HIGHWAYMEN! YOU WILL LOVE IT. It's a song by the band Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Kris Kristofferson and Waylon Jennings created in the 80's.
Willie is another one of those legends in music. He also is one hell of a song writer. He has wrote over 2,000 songs for everyone from Aretha Franklin to Cake. Some others that he wrote for were Al Green, Roy Orbison, Patsy Cline
See if you can find the video of Toby Kieth (live version) singing his song "I'll Never Smoke Weed With Willie Again". Willie is on stage with him as he hears the song for the first time. The grin on Willie's face as he's taking in the lyrics is priceless!
"Willie Nelson's range" 😂. My friend, that IS his range and thank God for it. He tells musical stories. As others have said, the man is a musical treasure.
Willie is currently on a twenty four date tour at the age of ninety.I'm going to drive from Denver to Lincoln, Nebraska to see him for the first time.He is truly a living legend.
Saw Willie play two nights ago and he sang this very song, I had to go back and see if you had done a reaction and yes you did. He is 91 years old now and has to sit to play, but he still gots it!!
Willie had his 91st birthday yesterday, Apr. 29. And we are all blessed to still be seeing him perform. Just for fun you need to react to Toby Keith and Scott Emerick singing to Willie on his 70th birthday. It's called "I'll Never Smoke Weed with Willie Again."
Willie told this story once: He came home drunk again and his wife at the time was fed up, so she sewed him up in a bed sheet - he said she took her time about it and he was sewed in - then she beat him with a broom. He said he woke up with these white things flying at him hitting him and he had no idea what was going on.
Sometimes less is more. Willie makes you feel this song. He was a fan of Frank Sinatra. Norah Jones is a fan of Willie and carries the influence forward. I think they did a duet once.
I think this is a song of reflection. A man realizing how important this special person is to then and how much he took them for granted. We can all relate to this and be grateful to Willie Nelson for saying it so beautifully.
Thats Willie's sister Bobbie playing piano.Willie probably has one of the most distinct guitar sounds. He always said when Trigger goes he'll go. That guitar is still going.
Please, please and again please…more Willie! Ray Charles and Willie collaborated on many songs but the one that really got to me was A Song for you. Ray had just told Willie backstage that he was dying and the song was for their friendship. Not many songs have affected me like that but it was very special. Willie is my spirit-person..I’ll love him always.
Perfect illustration of when they say, 'less can be more', for sure. He accomplished the same result when a song he wrote called 'Crazy' was taken to the highest level of acceptance in country music by Patsy Cline. Again, simple.....but with penetration to the human soul of monumental proportion.
The “hook” in this piece is the song itself, the words, the music and the presentation by Willie Nelson. It’s an honest confession from him to her, quietly, that gets your heart & soul. Some songs don’t need head banging noise! Know what I mean?
I remember back in the 80s being a teenager, and my grandma loved Willie. I never really paid attention. Now, I'm 53, and this is actually making me emotional. I totally get what you're saying, BP.
Hey Black P, you brought up Whitney Houston singing I Will Always Love You. In case you didn't know, Whitney covered that song. It was originally a Dolly Parton song. She wrote and performed that song for Porter Wagoner when she left his TV show.
Love Willie’s version. Another beautiful version is the one by Elvis. It brought tears because it was around the time of Elvis’ divorce and you felt the emotion in his voice. Thanks for this great reaction. 👏👏🥰
Willie has such an incredible past, writer, composer and singer, duh. ‘The Red headed stranger’ is an album in itself. You should treat yourself and spend 30 minutes with that masterpiece.
Willie is like someone that makes you feel like he's only singing to you. He has a warm embracing quality to his voice. He is an amazing guitar player so really listen to what he does with it. It is a classical guitar. I have seen him 3 times, not enough but he's on the top of my favorites. We have be blessed to have him this long. Keep going Willie.
I am so glad you reacted to this song by this totally genuine icon. I cannot imagine another person in the WORLD, who could have such a huge following as a singer, when he sings with such a nasal sound. That is normally not considered to be desirable but somehow Willie became super famous singing like that for decades. There is no pretension in him. He is always himself, no frills, no fuss, just a man with a guitar or harmonica standing on a stage and sharing his music, his heart, and his soul. He is beloved and a national treasure. If you ever get the chance, watch the very last part of his 90th Birthday Tribute that was televised. He got up on stage and performed with a wide variety of artists. You would have especially enjoyed his duet with Snoop Dogg when they sang the classic " Roll Me Up and Smoke Me When I Die" !! How perfect is that !!?? It astonished me how sharp Willie still is. He was just Willie, doing his thing, as if he was in his living room and he knew the words to every song he sang and did not miss a note vocally or on guitar !! I was super-impressed by that. I was fortunate to have seen him live in the 1980's with Waylon Jennings, and it was AN EXPERIENCE AND A HALF !!! He is someone to be remembered. Thank you. This made my day! 😊 🎸🎙🎶🌞❣
I’ve always wondered why so many people want every song to evolve into a demonstration of how the singer can project their voice and get loud and hit a bunch of unnecessary notes to prove their singing skills, rather than demonstrating their ability and desire to deliver a tender, sincere message that isn’t lost in the showmanship of “ look how high and loud I can get”. Some songs don’t need that. Some songs just need to gently and tenderly convey their message. I can see you “getting that” and feeling that. I’ve heard songs that start out making me feel something deep and real, and touching my heart, only to rev up and bring in the electric guitars and the screaming vocals and ruin the whole thing. But Willie Nelson has his own unique style. He can sing a wide variety of songs and sing them well. You won’t hear him breaking into a “Whitney Houston” style. He doesn’t need to. He has his own style perfected. I love Whitney Houston. I can’t imagine her style being different. But as you’ve seen, you can’t compare Willie Nelson’s vocals to Whitney Houston style artists. Willie wrote “You Were Always On My Mind”. Elvis did cover it. And I’m sure others did too. But nobody puts the tender, regretful, heartache feeling into it that Willie does. (In my opinion). 😊. I really enjoy your channel and seek out your reactions to songs first, before tuning in to see what the others have to say. Sometimes I wish that I could answer the questions you have on some of the country artists or that I could request a particular song for you react to, right on the spot. But that’s not possible. I doubt you’ll ever see this long winded comment. But if you do, just know that I appreciate YOUR appreciation and your respect for other styles of music and other artists outside your own genre. Thanks for what you do and for keeping it pretty much “family friendly.” (from what I’ve seen so far.) 🙉🙈🙊😊
The piano player is actually his older sister Bobby and Willie both are gifted piano players, Willie and Bobby's parents abandoned them as children They were raised by their grandparents in Abbott TX which is 25 or 30 miles from Waco Texas. That's where he is from. He also used to perform at Carl's corner which near Hillsboro TX, Willie and his buddy owned the place and Willie and his buddy use Bio diesel.❤❤❤❤
Look into his IRS Tapes. Gotta love Willie. I always thought it would be the best time to be a fly on the wall back in the day listening to Willie, Waylon, Kris and Johnny hanging out and telling stories. His 4th of July picnic was always one of my mother's favorite things to do in the 70's and 80s. I think he still does it.
Dude, It’s it so amazing how music, instruments, melodies and lyrics put you in your feels?? Willie has always been in my music rotation since the 70’s!!! I’m 59!!!
Willie Nelson is the only man on earth that can wear pig tails and still be considered masculine. He wrote some gospel songs that would surprise people to know.
It's never too late to tell your wife how soecial she is to you.Women crave words of verbal affirmation,it lights us up! There is a great book called The Five Love Languages, check it out! Love this song so much! So tender...💞🎙🎶
Love Willie. He has a unique voice and vibe. He's so laid back and casual, but he speaks to you. I can tell by the emotion showing on your face just how deeply this song is hitting you.. Check out Willie and Snoop Dogg together singing..... "Roll Me Up and Smoke Me" Also check out group, *The Highway Men singing "The City of New Orleans". The group includes Willie Nelson (taking the lead on this song) Johnny Cash, Waylan Jennings and Kris Kristofferson there's a mean harmonica all the way through this song.
I was invited to Laughlin Nevada, Free Tickets to an outdoor small venue concert Saturday night 4/20… Willie Nelson concert got center stage seats about 18 rolls back👍, I’m so glad to have seen him…. There is a FREE UA-cam movie called HONEYSUCKLE ROSE 🌹, a 1980 movie starring Willie👍🤗 I also love Elvis singing this song to his wife Priscilla on the music video, love it👍🤗♥️
One of my favorites from Willie. Blue Eyes Crying In The Rain was another one you would like or Angel Flying Too Close To The Ground.. Great reaction. ❤
i WAS ABOUT TO WRITE ABOUT THE CONNECTION i HAD, AND THE TEARS ROLLING DOWN MY FACE. But then you made the pause for your first reaction comment. You said everything I was going to write.
Willie does a great cover of Georgia on My Mind although Ray Charles version is probably the standard for measuring all the others. He wrote Crazy which Patty Kline did so well. I like his version too. A few more noteworthy songs: Angel Flying Too Close to the Ground, I Would Have to Be Crazy, Help Me Make It Through The Night, Whisky River, On the Road Again…. Willie said in an interview that songs were just out there in the air, he just had to pluck them.
This song should rank higher on the 'greatest country song' lists!
Him and Ray Charles, 7 Spanish angels song
My favorite!!
Willie singing Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain, is my all time favourite ❤️
I love Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain. My dad would play guitar and sing it all the time when I was younger. When he taught me to play the guitar, that was one of the first songs I learned to play. As I grew older, my musical taste evolved to be more rock centered, but I still love me some Willie. It's just great genuine music.
This is the one
Love that song! You got great taste!😊
ANOTHER one of the best songs ever. A little more of a country sound, too. "Always on my Mind" kind of transcends genre.
That and Angel Flying too Close to the Ground
At 90 years old, Willie is still performing and touring. He’s written hundreds and hundreds of songs and started out writing a number of number one songs for other people.
Willy, at 90 just recently got promoted to 5th degree master of one of several martial arts he is also a master of. He really is an amazing human.
Willie recorded his version in the early eighties. Among others it had been previously recorded by Brenda Lee and Elvis
Wayne Carson, Johnny Christopher and Mark James wrote it.
He performs with his family plus running the Willie's Reserve which sells saliva weed. Look it up, you can order from him too. He's been on Stephen Colbert Show but the interviews are always on his bus. Stephen always comments on the great smell in the bus.
Love how your so open to your feelings I love your honesty you give us every reaction
Willie's phrasing is unique, and wonderful, it's like he's having a conversation with a friend. He's a treasure.
The piano is the late great Sister Bobbie Nelson. Willie said the two of them alone could do a show with no rehearsal, they played music with each other every day of their lives
How he must miss her.
HA - that's the first thing I said when this video started: BOBBIE!!! ....and, my 22 yr old son said: No, it's not - that's Willie Nelson.... 🙄 RIP, BOBBIE!! PLAY ON, WILLIE!!!
Elvis definitely sung it
Careful, you almost showed your vulnerable side then. 😉 Willie Nelson will do that to you.
Willie's sister on the piano. Willie isn't a belter. He's mellow by design, and that's the way his fans like it.
My husband passed away, and this song hits home. He was in a veteran's home that was 2 hours away. I should've been there more for him. He had Alzheimers, PTSD, Agent Orange. Now that he's gone, i don't think i did love him enough. He was always on my mind

Willie has a totally different cadence to his singing than anyone else. He's one of our state treasures.
Willie has written over 2,500 songs, looks like smoking copious amounts of weed has worked out alright for him and Keith, they just keep going.
Angel flying to close to the ground by Willie is absolutely beautiful….his version of this is soooo beautiful and brings me to tears everytime
My favorite Willie song.
I think Snoop said Willie was probably the only person that could out smoke him. Love them both for their music. Great react. Keep it up
Willie has a couple of song videos that are pretty good. I will Never Smoke Weed With Willie Again and The World Has Gone to Pot. You should check them out. lol I loved them both. Waylon and him sing these two songs together.
His Red Headed Stranger album is a masterpiece and a must.
"Mamas Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up To Be Cowboys" Willie Nelson with Waylon Jennings. Gotta check out that classic!
Willie's as famous for the songs he's written for others as he is for his own performances.
And for his guitar work , not a shredder ,more like BB King
PEGASUS, YOU MUST CHECK HIGHWAYMEN BY THE HIGHWAYMEN! YOU WILL LOVE IT. It's a song by the band Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Kris Kristofferson and Waylon Jennings created in the 80's.
And please do the video… it gives you the whole story @BlackPegas 👍👍👍 .. you’ll love it!!
Willie is another one of those legends in music. He also is one hell of a song writer. He has wrote over 2,000 songs for everyone from Aretha Franklin to Cake. Some others that he wrote for were Al Green, Roy Orbison, Patsy Cline

@Code9 Willie heard the song for the first time at his 70th birthday concert.
Yes, Elvis sang this first!! Love both versions!
Love his version too🔥❤️
Love both versions ❤
His timing, pauses are conversational. He has a lovely tone of voice. He also has a unique way of playing tbe guitar
I highly recommend Angel Flying to Close to the Ground. One of the most beautiful songs ever written!
You're not alone. So many of us should be singing or playing this for our wives. It's never too late.
This song is why I am a wife.
"Willie Nelson's range" 😂. My friend, that IS his range and thank God for it. He tells musical stories. As others have said, the man is a musical treasure.
I love Willie's voice. You need to check out his song, "City of New Orleans," which is an actual train. Story line is great.
“I Will Always Love You,” was written by Dolly Parton. She won Grammy’s for her rendition then years later for Whitney’s version.
Have you heard Dolly sing "I Will Always Love You?" If you haven't do it now!
Willie is currently on a twenty four date tour at the age of ninety.I'm going to drive from Denver to Lincoln, Nebraska to see him for the first time.He is truly a living legend.
Willie wrote that song, along with many other greats. CRAZY, that was sung by Patsy Cline was another of Willies hits.
Saw Willie play two nights ago and he sang this very song, I had to go back and see if you had done a reaction and yes you did. He is 91 years old now and has to sit to play, but he still gots it!!
Fun Fact: Dolly Parton wrote and recorded I will always love you
Willie had his 91st birthday yesterday, Apr. 29. And we are all blessed to still be seeing him perform. Just for fun you need to react to Toby Keith and Scott Emerick singing to Willie on his 70th birthday. It's called "I'll Never Smoke Weed with Willie Again."
Yes, good one! Also "Whiskey For My Men, Beer For My Horses" a duet with Toby Keith.
They did. Wurlitzer Prize. Absolutely fantastic duet.
Willie was a songwriter for the biggest names in the music industry through the 50's and 60's before becoming a performer.
He's been in movies too, hes my favorite male country singer
Im just waitin on BP to discover "Highwayman" by the Highwaymen. And Dolly Parton, "I Will Always Love You". 😁😆 Gonna be epic ❤
You should also listen to The Highwaymen (Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, Kris Kristofferson and Waylon Jennings) sing The Highwayman.
I think this is a song of reflection. A man realizing how important this special person is to then and how much he took them for granted. We can all relate to this and be grateful to Willie Nelson for saying it so beautifully.
His entire "Stardust" album blew me away.
You mentioned "I will always love you" by Whitney. But have you heard Dolly Parton's original version? You need to listen to that.
Willie's song 'Angel flying to close to the ground' is such a loved song
Thats Willie's sister Bobbie playing piano.Willie probably has one of the most distinct guitar sounds. He always said when Trigger goes he'll go. That guitar is still going.
Willie Nelson and his life’s journey is right up there with Johnny Cash! Willie is my favorite
Willie Nelson...simple and honest, that's all it takes and what he delivers! No flowery, bombastic-contrived emotionalism, just truth!
Please, please and again please…more Willie! Ray Charles
and Willie collaborated on many songs but the one that
really got to me was A Song for you. Ray had just told Willie
backstage that he was dying and the song was for their
friendship. Not many songs have affected me like that but
it was very special. Willie is my spirit-person..I’ll love him
always.
Angel flying to close to the ground is a must listen.
Perfect illustration of when they say, 'less can be more', for sure. He accomplished
the same result when a song he wrote called 'Crazy' was taken to the highest level
of acceptance in country music by Patsy Cline. Again, simple.....but with penetration
to the human soul of monumental proportion.
My Dad took us to see Willie Nelson when I was a kid. He was so good in concert; back then Willie had short hair and wore a suit and tie!
You won't forget this Willie song. He wrote hundreds of songs and sang most of them too.
You should also check out the covers by Elvis and Pet Shop Boys (among others).
The “hook” in this piece is the song itself, the words, the music and the presentation by Willie Nelson. It’s an honest confession from him to her, quietly, that gets your heart & soul. Some songs don’t need head banging noise! Know what I mean?
One of the most lyrical songs expressing love and regret. Masterpiece!
Great reaction and analysis man.
As we say in Texas; y'all be safe.
There is still time to show her how much you truly love her . I have been married 47 years and we still tell each other every day 😢
Absolutely adorable! God Bless you both!
Thank you And God Bless you
I remember back in the 80s being a teenager, and my grandma loved Willie. I never really paid attention. Now, I'm 53, and this is actually making me emotional. I totally get what you're saying, BP.
Me too! I’m tearing up!
A treasure in the music industry ❤🎉
Willie is a unique dude.
My favorite song of Willie Nelson
Angel Flying Too Close Too The Ground is a beautiful song by Willie
Hey Black P, you brought up Whitney Houston singing I Will Always Love You. In case you didn't know, Whitney covered that song. It was originally a Dolly Parton song. She wrote and performed that song for Porter Wagoner when she left his TV show.
Another one of our Texas Treasures. The man lives life his way
You need to hear Willie and Julio to All the Girls I've loved before, and Blue eyes crying in the rain, and Angel flying too close to the ground ❤❤❤
Also Tim McGraw's ( Always Stay Humble and Kind)❤❤❤❤
Nelson wrote "Crazy" recorded by Patsy Cline in 1961. !!
His son, Lucas Nelson, covers some of his songs and sounds a lot like him. He has his own band. Promise of the Real, with his own music.
If you Google, Songs written by Willie Nelson, it will blow your mind. He was a songwriter before he was a singer.
Willie is like someone that makes you feel like he's only singing to you. He has a warm embracing quality to his voice. He is an amazing guitar player so really listen to what he does with it. Willie opens his shows with "Whiskey River Take My Mind."
His 4th of July picnic was always one of my mother's favorite things to do in the 70's and 80s. I think he still does it.
An amazing songwriter. A 70-year career.
Saw Willie back in the day . His songs make ya think. Go give them both a hug.
I love Willie Nelson and Ray Charles singing ( Seven Spanish Angels)❤❤❤❤
This is one of my favorite covers of all time.
Yeah one of his biggest hits he didn’t write
I like all music. But old country hits my soul like nothing else.
Willie is a story teller singer. He always sings like that. It is what makes him so liked.
Legend Willie, true words spoken.
"Red headed stranger" is a Willie Nelson song that is very good!

Blue Eyes Crying in the rain. Dolly Parton - I Will Always Love You

He will always be a legend!
Country music takes our lives and puts them to lyrics and music. It tugs at our heart strings for sure.
Lost my wife a year ago now, this song is making me think of her.
Willie is a MAJOR song writer google his list of songs. He wrote this song along with many others that were recorded by top singers of the day.
Love Willie. He has a unique voice and vibe. He's so laid back and casual, but he speaks to you. I can tell by the emotion showing on your face just how deeply this song is hitting you..
Check out Willie and Snoop Dogg together singing..... "Roll Me Up and Smoke Me"
Also check out group, *The Highway Men singing "The City of New Orleans". The group includes Willie Nelson (taking the lead on this song) Johnny Cash, Waylan Jennings and Kris Kristofferson there's a mean harmonica all the way through this song.
Whitney always made me feel like I had to throw up, Willie makes me smile as soon as I see him because I know it's going to be good.
Willie is a way underrated vocalist.
Agree 100%.
I was invited to Laughlin Nevada, Free Tickets to an outdoor small venue concert Saturday night 4/20… Willie Nelson concert got center stage seats about 18 rolls back👍, I’m so glad to have seen him…. There is a FREE UA-cam movie called HONEYSUCKLE ROSE 🌹, a 1980 movie starring Willie👍🤗

willie has a ton of hits plus wrote songs for a ton of people
i WAS ABOUT TO WRITE ABOUT THE CONNECTION i HAD, AND THE TEARS ROLLING DOWN MY FACE.
I love this song brings back so many memories, with an old long-time relationship. Thank you for listening.
