Fantastic routine!! I actually use my peptide serum in the morning and my retinol at night. I've been using AHA/BHA's for so many years, and I'm using a lower strength retinol, so I use them both at night. However, I spread my skincare routine over 30+ minutes. I apply my TO .5% retinol mixed with a pea sized amount of a ceramide moisturizer to wet skin because I want to get the full benefit of it. Then I let it sink in for at least 10 minutes or more. I use a buffer(TO Amino Acids) then add the Good Molecules Overnight Exfoliating treatment. Then eye cream and moisturizers. I have found that this simplified routine has done wonders for my skin!!

I’m so super-exited: a week ago I placed an order at Beauty Bay for lots of great products.. New bottles of Alpha arbutin and Agireline fro The Ordinary.
Two of my favourite anti-ageing (and of course I love retinol too!).
And it will come any day now (it usually takes a week for a Beauty Bay package to get to me in the north of Sweden 🇸🇪
I’m like a child at the day before Christmas ✨☺️😊✨ Isn’t this how life should be?
You look absolutely stunning 😻 you always do. And one good thing about having an oily skin as an adult: you will age much slower. Trust me. I used to be oily/combination skin and salicylic acid is my hero. And that avoiding the sun!
But honestly, I think your skin looks great! And it shows, that you take good care of your skin and probably live a very healthy life. ✨You glow! 💫
Lots of love and take care! 🤗 from 🇸🇪

Finally. Someone is showing us their retinoid routine! However I am confused, as usual. :) I thought copper peptides were a solid no with retinoids. Do I have this wrong? Sending tons of love to you Rob! 🧡

    • @MadAboutSkin
      @MadAboutSkin  3 роки тому +5

Hey hun Happy Tuesday and I am so glad you enjoyed the video... The jury is out on the copper peptides with retinoids discussion with lots of conflicting information.. The consensus I follow from derms is that its not ideal to have them next to one another which is why I separate them in the routine and that it could increase sensitivity in some people so avoid them together if you have super sensitive skin but for everyone else it should be fine :) sending you lots of love xxxxx

Could you do a video on a basic anti ageing routine for over people in their 40’s or over showing ingredients/actives that we should include. I am 45, I want to up my anti ageing game, however I do not want to have to layer 100 layers of products to get the benefits. I want skincare routine that is simple, effective and relatively short.

Or should I exfoliate in the AM? I use Vit C, Tranexamic Acid, Azelaic Acid, CoQ10, pycnogenal, and resveratrol in my AM routine so I'm not sure where it would go. Thanks!

I have extremely dry skin with hormonal acne, and Differin has been my holy grail! For antiaging my eye area, I use the inkey list retinol eye cream, but only about twice a week. Overdoing it is an eyelid eczema risk for me, which wont help with the anti aging at all! I top everything with a heavy cream or balm moisturizer.
I wouldn't mind introducing some peptides, but I wasn't sure how they play with the Differin.

NGL I adore how disposable cotton rounds work for me. Even though they’re wasteful I still haven’t given them up totally and don’t think I’ll be willing to part with them anytime soon until brands start making better reusable ones.
I just decided to compromise by cutting down waste in another way. I decided to buy a few small cloth _(reusable)_ napkins and a couple metal straws instead. I use the cloth napkins when I’m eating breakfast & dinner and always use the metal straws instead of plastic ones.
I like to believe the waste evens out now I that I use significantly less paper towels each day & don’t use disposable straws. 😅
Some day I plan on trying out those reusable cotton swabs too since I use disposable ones often to touch up smudged eye makeup, but I gotta have my disposable cotton pads

By pea-size amount I never knew whether the size of a green pea or chickpea is meant. :P
I know you value products being cruelty free. Unfortunately Differin is not. Luckily the adapalene gel from the brand AcneFree is a cruelty free alternative. If you order there, take in account it takes weeks to ship to Europe and having to pay sales tax to import the product.

“Rescued during the night…” 😂😂😂😂😂 Ya never know so it’s best to always be prepared!! 😂😂 My nightly routine includes Curology with tretinoin and when I started getting those super flaky areas, I backed off to 3-4 days a week and that has helped. I also use Niod Modulating Glucosides, Hylamide SubQ Mist, Hylamide Sensitive Fix Booster, TO Azelaic Acid and a couple products with green tea, licorice root and other calming ingredients because I have type 1 rosacea. I usually use a heavier moisturizer over the serums because of the dryness but I also put it on my cheeks where I get the most redness before I put the Curology on and try to avoid those areas so the tretinoin doesn’t irritate the rosacea. My moisturizer du jour is LaRoche-Posay Double Repair but I use different moisturizers depending on how my skin feels.

@@angeladavies898 thank you maybe I will try them. After five months On Skin + Me I ended up with 0.021%. Bit disappointed as I was using the Paula Choice 1% which I understand is not really 1% but I had explained I was already using a high strength retinol product. Don’t really understand if 0.021% is comparable to the PC 1%. It’s all very confusing lol

Why does the title say Tretinoin if you're using Adapalene? Especially when you're using copper peptides in the same routine....? Copper Peptides shouldn't be used with Tretinoin.

Peptides yes! Copper peptides specifically, NO! You cannot use them in the same routine as ascorbic acid or retinoids. It can actually be detrimental to your skin's health.
