Hi Rob, I think you should have mentioned that Vichy is not cruelty-free. Maybe there are people watching you like me who rely on your cruelty-free product recommendations. I only know their status because I googled it a while back. Otherwise great video and I'm looking forward to maybe a winter skincare routine? 😉

I checked the SkinCeuticals website and they sell a caffeine eye serum with 5% ascorbic acid. So I added 6 cups of The Ordinary 100% L-ascorbic acid powder into the Caffeine solution from The Ordinary to get a 5% Vitamin C + 5% Caffeine + EGCG eye serum. It’s a DIY dupe 🤣🤣🤣 I know we are not supposed to do that. But the brightening effect is great. And I can then safely use ascorbic acid at a low concentration under my eyes 😅

Fabulous routine, Rob, and your skin is looking gorgeous 😍 One antioxidant that has grown on me from The Ordinary has been their Resveratrol and Ferulic acid. I didn't love it at first because it felt too oily for my already very oily skin but I've recently reincorporated it my routine and it's quite lovely.

Hi Kelly.. I hope all is amazing with you.. I have the same experience with it.. Way too oily for my skin but when i mix it with my moisturiser it's perfection.. Sending you lots of love xxxxxx

Hi Rob my three essentials for anti aging are spf, retinoids and azelaic acid. I was looking at photos from 5 years ago (before starting retinoids and daily spf) and my skin is looking better now. This is despite becoming fully menopausal within that time period (I was in perimenopause 5 years ago though). My skin thinned a lot during perimenopause and I was searching for a topical way to restore some of the firmness/plumpness to my face. This is when my retinoid journey started and I can truly say it has made an obvious difference - even on photos. I'm now 49 and at 44 my skin looked worse than it does now. This was despite having used skincare all my life (including spf from March to September in the UK), since I was a young teen. I had good skin most of my life and had looked younger than my actual age, until the hormonal changes started at 39. By 44 I looked like I was starting to look more like my actual age, but I'm back to passing as about a decade younger (people think I'm in my late thirties and seem surprised by my real age). My skin looks better now than it did at 44, so that's a great reflection of the power of a retinoid and daily spf. For me azelaic acid has really reduced the redness/discolouration from the rosacea I developed in my early forties. It has also helped lighten my freckles and make them look smaller. I've been able to tolerate retinaldehyde on my neck for a few years and this has helped my neck also look better. I do use peptides and antioxidants, but they're not the powerhouse that a retinoid is for anti aging for me. Do they help a bit - yes, but I haven't found them to be as effective as others seem to. They're a supporting ingredient to the top three mentioned for my skin.
As to your routine it's a very minimal application lol. I need a load of hydration and for my face to be really damp throughout my routine - to have any hope of staying somewhat hydrated through the day. I have very dry skin though and use multiple layers of hydrating products, under an occlusive moisturiser and spf. I also use my antioxidant/peptide products around my eyes, plus either an eye cream or moisturiser and a good amount of spf on top. My eye area is also very dry though. I apply everything from hairline to chest as well. I think I may go through a lot more product than you do lol, but my dry/thirsty skin drinks it in very quickly. If it starts feeling not damp enough I'll mist it with water or a hydrating mist during my routine - as I said I need a lot more product than I saw being applied. Perhaps it's the difference between what an oilyr dry skin needs to feel comfortable? Best wishes.

Thank you for the routine. Just sent my daughter the g+g cleanser, aPad, stress less, and the liquid hydration to get her into a good skin routine before I send her adapalene and a good sunscreen!!
I am using Azelaic 10% emulsion from Naturium at night and adding a couple of drops of the Cos de Baha Azelaic acid to my other serums in the morning. I’m looking forward to your serum as I think it will give the perfect fix of Azelaic for the daytime 😉 That Skinoren is still sitting in my fridge for when I become a hardened Azelaic acid user lol!!

You are defnitely on the right path. I'm 66 and I pretty well do what you do, and I don't have wrinkles and my skin is quite elastic and plump. The problem I have now is the sagging in my jowls. This year, I got the red light, working on a Radio Frequency device right now, and when I go into maintemance mode for that, I'm going to look for a micro currency device. It really pays to look after your skin. Thank you for the Niod tips.

was wondering if you could do a video on skincare for us over 50. It gets really confusing as what to use and things we really dont need to use. Yes there are a lot of videos on here with people over 50 but most of them are about what they like and use NOT on what you should and should not be using or spending money on. I am 64 so there are some things I dont need and it gets really frustrating with all the options and products out there. I dont mean recommending certain brands I mean what products we should be buying and using. Hope that makes sense and thanks.

  • @Patti-1962

I love this routine, and so wish I could use argireline, but my skin doesn't like it. The NIOD products are just more money than I want to spend. If I feel like my current products aren't cutting it, I may rethink this, bite the bullet and buy them.As I do believe skincare is an investment!!
The #1 products that I have seen dramatic improvement with my skin are the Hylamide SubQ Skin and TO Retinol .5% in Squalane (mixed with a pea sized amount of moisturizer.) The best exfoliator I have ever used is the Good Molecules Overnight Exfoliating Treatment. I can use this every night because my skin is used to acids. Then, using TO Amino Acids for moisture and Ascorbyl Glucoside for vitamin C and as an antioxidant. Ending with moisturizers with ceramides and peptides that finishes off my skin beautifully!
I do have one question, can I stop using my ascorbyl glucoside once I start using the MAS serum?

I was thinking about something that might help me a little bit with my retinol results is that I live up in the north of Sweden. There’s very dark here most of the year. It’s only in the summer time when we have day-light almost 24/7. I think midsummer is the worst (or solstice). But in December, I think it’s December 22nd, the sun doesn’t come up at all. My thought was “Maybe this is something I can use to my advantage to get great results with my skincare and especially the retinol.

I’ve been so curious about the G&G Jelly Joker cleanser cuz you must have 7 million vids raving about it, but I just don’t think it’s for me. Dr. Dray described it as very thick & creamy, which I hate in cleansers, so I guess I’ll have to ignore your raves on it. You’re also 35 . . . and I’m not (and I have sensitive skin & mild Rosacea), so what’s good for you is quite different than what’s right for me.

OK Rob, so I know you love the NIOD Copper Serum to pieces, but I’m not loving it like you do. Here’s why - it’s a teeny weeny bottle with very little in it & it costs 60 bucks for that tiny amount & it evaporates in literally a second, so it’s almost impossible to spread. I end up having to use too much to cover my face - even on damp skin, this just does not spread. I’ve used it only a few times, but feel like I’ve just about used it up. Not happy with this, Rob!

do I need to use retinol every day to maintain it's long-term anti-aging benefits? Or 2-3 nights a week will be still as effective long-term?

Hi you can use them on alternate nights and still get good results - that's how I've used them for years. I got good results this way and it helped me deal with the drying effects a retinoid can have. Hope that helps.

So I have to say that I disagree with your lack of a higher SPF just because you're inside. UVA comes right through the windows. Since folks tend to under apply SPF, I choose to use a higher SPF. My routine is simpler, but I'm impressed with yours
