This is the best thing I’ve ever heard my knee has a torn meniscus and I’m 64. This is awesome. It may not be available for years, but at least there’s an option for my son when he gets my age or my daughter

Hurry up and develop cartilage regeneration! I'm currently actively researching orthopedic surgeons for a total hip replacement. I would MUCH rather have cartilage regeneration than having my femoral head amputated and a big chunk of metal hammered into my femur.
My son had his own tissue regenerated for knee surgery about 10 years ago. They took a sample and grew it in a petri dish over a few months, then covered it with his own tissue (skeletal sack material) and implanted the finished product. The biggest problem with this method is no weight bearing for at least 6 weeks, along with constant movement of the knee via a machine that keeps it in motion, so it doesn't lock up while you sleep. He will eventually need a knee replacement, but this was a better option for an active person in their 30s.
Google “paradigm biopharma” in Australia. They already have a drug that is proven to regrow cartilage and is just about to start a phase 3 trial in The US and Europe. It should be available globally within 2-3 years
For what it's worth in case you end up needing hip replacement surgery: I got a left THR done 10 years ago at age 40 (no injury, just abnormally high wear and tear/arthritis at an abnormally young age). It was life changing. No more pain, I could sleep through the night again without hurting, and I'm still as active as I want to be. The biggest change that's limiting is I'm in the joint preservation business for the rest of my life: any amount of running and jumping on a hard surface is naturally going to shorten the lifespan of the replacement. But I do other things... I have passed 2 belt tests in Krav Maga (Israeli martial art) which is a pretty intense activity, and I ride my bike, including light trail riding...All with a total hip replacement. So my experience has been great. Best of luck to you!
University of Michigan also developed a way to get the body to produce new cartilage by using Kevlar as a matrix for it to grow on and using injections of the person's own plasma. It works, but they couldn't get the company they were working with to open a facility to produce medical grade Kevlar. Good to know someone is still working on cartilage!
Another "miracle breakthrough" that will never see the light of day because Big Pharma will buy it and shelve it to kill it and keep selling you "treatment" drugs, because they hate cures. We are ruled over by evil oligarchs. The faster the people learn this, the better.
This is important news for those who have suffered the devastating side effects of fluoroquinolone antibiotics (such as Cipro, Levaquin, Avalox and more). These effects ravage the joints, cartilage, collagen and connective tissues systemically. Treatments are few. This article gives me hope.
Wow you dont have a clue. Those antibiotics are largely benefical which is why they got FDA approval. Cipro saved a lot of people from a host of diseases and Levaquin has saved many more. Misuse of those antibiotics is only from those who are like those who cant read a study result. You should not rely on MDs as they arent scientists, you as a patient have a responsibility to know what ails you and how to fix it. If you dont you will be at the mercy of those in medicine. 23 years ago, I was diagnosed with severe cartilage loss in my knee. I had terrible pain with any activity. I refused cortisone (although this does have it's place). But something regenerated because I've had no pain since then. I'm nearly 70.

There is also another approach being researched in a medical university (in California???). I saw the story about a year or so ago. In it, they described a procedure to rasp/scrape the bone area to cause the body’s healing process. At a particular point (4-6 weeks) into the healing process, the patient is given medication that inhibits the formation of scar tissue and results in producing new cartilage. But as we all know, whatever procedure(s) get approved, only the rich will benefit for a long time. No insurance company will cover an “experimental” elective procedure. If they're already testing in sheep, it should be sooner than that. It all depends on funding. Most large pharma companies are looking at 10 year plans from what I recall.
I read about this fifteen years ago. Two Chicago doctors (wife in research, husband in practice) discovered enzymes to cause cartilage regeneration. They were using rabbits and had discovered how to regenerate soft cartilage, but were working on reproducing the same results with hard cartilage. They had been successful in the spines of rabbits, but said clinical trials would be at least ten years away.

Same here...
You don't have to be your age to have problems. Both of my shoulders and both of my knees are blown. This started happening for me when I was 45. It could happen to anyone at any age
Everyone I know my age is pretty much getting their knees or hips replaced. It’s been life changing for them. My wife is only 51 and she just got a TKR, life is too short to live in pain. I wish you all well. I too have my share of knee issues and I am sure I too will need a new knee before to long.

Hurry up and develop cartilage regeneration! I'm currently actively researching orthopedic surgeons for a total hip replacement. I would MUCH rather have cartilage regeneration than having my femoral head amputated and a big chunk of metal hammered into my femur.
Look up for a comment above. This person says that they had success with watching and doing what was shown on that UA-cam channell.
Yup… as a Rehabilitation Medical Doctor I wish you luck. We all are going to need this, that’s for sure… eventually.

This is an american phenomenon, in Italy which has a longer tradition of medicine those there say you dont give up your rights when you are a patient you have to know how to assert them ..You are relying on clueless journalists to give you scientific information, that shows at what level you are at and so because you have no STEM background you are at the mercy of those who have some college level science courses but you need more than degrees to do anything. 23 years ago, I was diagnosed with severe cartilage loss in my knee. I had terrible pain with any activity. I refused cortisone (although this does have it's place). The VA orthopedic surgeon went in orthoscopically (under anesthesia) and "pricked" the bones to make them bleed. Absolutely no weight-bearing for 10 weeks on that leg. But something regenerated because I've had no pain since then. I'm nearly 70.

This is huge for anyone that suffers from the disease relapsing polychondritis that essentially damages cartilage to the point of no return. This will definitely be life changing for many. Amazing!
That will takes years if not decades.

You’re wise to be skeptical.
If they're already testing in sheep, it should be sooner than that. It all depends on funding. Most large pharma companies are looking at 10 year plans from what I recall.
Umbilical cord stem cells have been used for years now in joint therapy with very positive results

Once the cartilage wears away it's replaced by bone nodes which grind against bone causing the pain. What do you plan on doing about the bone nodes, removing them?
REad the literature you are not a scientist but try to do research. DO NOT Rely on physicians they are NOT scientists and DO NOT read the scientific literature. For sure some caution gotta be set in cause with him saying signaling cells the cells may overdevelop in the human body. Of course trial and error with ppl willing to accept and see what happens but if fully succeed then this will change how older humans move about.
That is the BEST news ever!! My Mom has passed because of great pain associated with lack of cartilage…so I really hope these findings are able to help people ASAP 🙏🏼🥹🥲
That is amazingly awesome ! So nice to hear of REAL solutions to REAL human issues. Thanks eh
Why did this not lead every news broadcast in the world the day it was announced! This has the potential to affect BILLIONS OF PEOPLE around the world. Isn't this more newsworthy than some politicians lies? Is WGN the only TV station that knows what news is?
I’m soooo excited to hear this,! I suffer both knees and ankles. If they need a test subject let me know! 👏👏👏
Does this also potentially aply to spinal disc regeneration?l hope so🤞
This is an extraordinary development and a real hope for many !
Mobility maintains health longivity more than anything else. This could be quite game changing.
Good show.
I had a catastrophic injury when I was seven years old in both my knees. I need this.
How about the control group? Did cartilage also regenerate in them?
When is this available?
I would love this if it helps me avoid a ankle replacement
Sorry- what would you ask your doctor about? Is there a specific name for this treatment beyond cortisone injections? Thank you, if I missed it
David Goggins had cartilage replacement to get back to running in lieu of joint replacement but he had to deal with a lot of therapy and PAIN before he was back up.
This is exciting, I really hope it passes muster and is safe/effective for human use.
Misleading in the video to show people running and doing sport and saying we wear it out. The research shows that active people’s joints stay healthier than those who aren’t active. Hope this new method works!
Exactly! Exercise increases blood flow to joints
This would be incredible. A game changer.
What is the regeneration materials
