It must make it easier to mix or edit. Maybe there’s a limit of 4 mics on the setup they’re using. Lots of possible technical limitations. Or it could just be that Adam and Ellis like sharing the producer mic?

they purposefully crippled search (for mostly political reasons may I add) to such an extent where it genuinely is close to useless now. Forget about image generation, coding etc. I searched about the Google IO virtual assistant controversy from a few years ago (I forgot the date) and none of the results were useful. Asked chatgpt and had a simple answer with full context right away. Ironically, OpenAI is also crippling chatgpt for mostly political reasons too and it's already worse than when it first came out. They're well on their way to making google search relevant again lol.

I actually work for a contractor who’s on their Google Photos annotation project. What you’re speaking of is exactly the type of training we’re doing on that particular platform.
And for some reason all of the speakers were begging for applause. It was painful to watch.
They have been "dumbing down" searches a lot including reverse image searching.
Relating to the discussion around it feeling low-energy and not much cool/flashy stuff - that's what happens when a company lays off a sizeable percent of it's workforce, especially when it's mainly developers/engineers. A lot of projects have to get shelved just because there aren't people to work on them anymore.
I couldn't wait for this to be over. It was a high school lunch conversation between annoying freshman. Marques, you are above this foolishness.
The thing that people seem to forget about AI search is this...
Now search engines don't haveto give you suggestions to do your own research.
Now we just serve you exactly what we want you to see, and you'll jave to take our word for it.
So what do we use now? Google and even duckduckgo are spitting out the same trash every time

My company switched to Google Cloud a few years ago because they got a cheaper deal than from AWS. After dealing with GCP since 2021, Google is playing catch up on multiple fronts 😂

I think that technology in general just settles down waiting for a new big think, and I'm not sure if AI at the current state is that thing. It is impressive for sure, incredible and useful, but it is just floating around our current tech

They talk about how the look for a license plate or passport number now with google photos but Ive done this in the past with a search using Photos in an iPhone. Same thing it pulls up the picture and vuala so nothing actually new.
Even regular general search in the iOS

The thing that I look forward for during Google I/O is the anouncment of their new smart devices and this year there were no smart device anouncments and they only really talked about Gemini.
The "AR" glasses were the only interesting part, and they weren't really acknowledged. For the whole 2nd part of IO, I thought they were going to do Apple-like "One more thing" and actually announce Glass 2 (or knowing Google: "Goole AI Glass with Gemini Assistant powered by Gemini Pro 1.5"). There were not enough leaks for me to believe they would come out now, but at least a full teaser like they did with the Pixel Tablet a couple of years ago, with more detail later.
Remember Incognito mode. Google, we don't save the data. Yeah, that went well.

The only thing I hate more than Googles BS is the outright contempt that Apple has for its users. Google hasnt made a good product in a decade and the only reason anyone uses their software at all is theyve forced themselves into it so you dont get a choice other than opting out entirely of modern technology. To hell with them both.

It was never "in" ,who the hell goes for an app that will always; take you to another app? Plus even not having that in mind cos it certainly isn't at everyone's mind all the time at this point I never ever seen anyone going for Google's app instead of a browser when searching for anything. ...this was also why I didn't understood the focus on their app during the last I/O I mean they know how much people use one or the other so, is this an Apple move or what

I hate any interface used on Google Apps. It just doesn't click with me. It is a genuine unintuitive mess.

Generative AI is at least poor in S23 gallery. I hardly get results while editing pics for 40- 50 %; rest of the time it will get stuck in between somewhere. and Then error.
