    Awesome video I have been looking at doing this to my NT LWB, but was worried about traction control kicking in.

      Video coming soon to see how everything behaves 💯 the locker is there for the hard slow stuff so slipping will be minimal for the rear as it's locked... should be front only. With more momentum things turn tc off 💯

      Have you used the diff lock much? Love my Pajero, but it can struggle in really steep, rutted, soft stuff. Wondering if the RDL would help with that.

    Going to be really interesting to see how the rear diff lock copes with the traction control in the rear - hopefully the diff won't be fighting against braked wheels! Holding thumbs as I want to do this to my 2008 lwb!

    • @allanpower8041
      @allanpower8041 11 місяців тому +1

      Good question. When a genuine rear diff lock is engaged, the traction control is disabled.

    • @budget4x4life
      @budget4x4life  11 місяців тому +1

      Tested and it's fine 💯 wheels turn together so doesn't trigger it as spinning. Only when one wheel stops and other spins

      @@budget4x4life Yeah thats what I thought it would do - but if both rear tires spin up quickly as if they've lost traction, over loose gravel, sand or rocks for example, I think the traction would still kick in. But you've got that fancy loom that disables traction entirely so you should be fine!

    • @budget4x4life
      @budget4x4life  11 місяців тому +2

      @peterstevey I am doing a video soon so we will see how it works and behaves in what modes. The locker will also be on just for slow crawling so slipping will be minimal. For more momentum stuff I'll rather have the tc off. But we'll see what happens 😊😜

      The wiring part in the video was a bit...rushed. Any way you can explain in detail how the wiring for pump was done? Just finished swaping both my diffs out for 4.9 with rear locker and I just need help with wiring as well. Thanks in advanced. love the vids!

    • @budget4x4life
      @budget4x4life  8 місяців тому

      @javierjimenez644 hey mate yeah we wanted to get it done 😄
      Wiring goes from pump to battery and then to the switch in cab. Compressor has a positive and negative wire. Very easy to do. What did you get the 4.9 out of with locker? And what size tyres do you have🙌🏼💯

    • @javierjimenez644
      @javierjimenez644 8 місяців тому +1

      @@budget4x4life Thanks I think I can figure it out from here now! The 4.9 came out of a Gen 3 with low km, The only issue I came across was the driveshaft bolt pattern was slightly different (Gen 3 4 bolt pattern and Gen 4 6 bolt pattern) in my new diff, so I just popped the shafts off the old diff and fitted it to the new diff so no problem. I am running Falken Wildpeaks 285/70/17s

    • @budget4x4life
      @budget4x4life  8 місяців тому +1

      @javierjimenez644 nice mate! They are very tall gears, the Pajero will now get up and go without a lag. Let me know when you fixed the tailshaft issue and how the car runs afterwards. Should be able to make an adapter plate in metal for it if the holes don't line up.

    Make sure you route the compressor inlet hose to a height above your max wading depth otherwise it could suck in water if you have the difflock engaged whilst doing a river crossing
